No we are not. We have quality players. They are just not showing it in the present system.
-
We have several very good players. The quality is much higher than the relegated side. The summer signings give real hope--Ramsdale, Sugar, Fernandes and to my surprise Lallana with Downes and the young CH with the long name are a street ahead of the relegation team. When they gell we will be clear of relegation zone and next season mid table. Don't panic!

YES, imagine getting Le Tiss to fit a system, it didn't work and Branfoot had him sitting on the bench. It was Bally gave him freedom and we saw a world beater.
-
FRASER not proven yet imo but FERNANDES and LESLEY Ugo will be star quality. Yes, we can be Premier quality given a bit of time, and there isn't much time before panic buttons get pressed
-
Common sense at last

Ok so his side concede 60 goals a season. Well, that's a problem in a side which has scored 0,0,1 and 0 so far. The back looks better equipped to survive than the front, to me.

Every Club makes bad signings, ask ManUtd and Chelsea, its just that they can afford mistakes and we can't. Anyway, there were good buys on show today---Ramsdale, the Sugar fellow, Fernandes and Lesley Ogu, they all promise to be the base of a good side, no need to dwell on the panic mistakes a couple of years ago.

I like Martin as a person, he comes over well n TV, he seems to be a good man manager, the signs are that the players like him (as far as we can tell). I don't get any bad vibes as in the Branfoot era or with Mad Nat. But I fear he is out of his depth and some good players will drown with him.
-
The point is, he's back. And if he plays anything like the little cameo on Saturday he will be a blessing. Time to be thankful and give credit where its due.
-
Why does Lallana get all the poison for when half the team decamped to Liverpool? It was Lambert who went first and opened the door, no one blames him.
-
We don't know what goes on in the training ground, we don't know what personal relations are like, but that matters in a team. We do know that he has often been subbed for injury and has seldom lasted 90 mins and had weeks and months on the bench--of the physio.
-
Where was Lesley Ogu today? Was Stephens in his place?
-
Its no use being 'potentially' anything. A manager has to deal with the realities not the possibilities.

We are building a squad for the future as well as the now. Unfortunately Ings doesn't fit either category, if he did he wouldn't be going for free
-
Who was the last signing that genuinely got you excited?
Dellyears replied to Midfield_General's topic in The Saints
For me, the return of Mick Channon -

That's all true and we know he has a touch of class but if he doesn't want to be here and thinks he can do better than Saints maybe its best to take the money. and anyway if he stays we'll need extra medical staff.

I'd rather the Club got £10m
-
Alberto was the striker I really wanted. Not complaining, its been an amazing window and we are stronger in every department
-
How does anyone imagine Broja would be ideal? Yet another case for the treatment room. And when he's on the pitch he is 'lazy with flashy patches'
-
Ryan Fraser? Thank you for last season but this is a new era, so sorry but not this time.
-
Why does this guy say 'loan move'. Is he right or is it more lazy journalism?
-
Is the Yuri Alberto move still realistic? I think it more important than signing Ramsdale
-
Tall Paul has been rubbished on this site ever since he first came, now posters are crying out for him to play. Don't know why we are so keen to rubbish our own, I thought fans were meant to be supporters. I know I am old fashioned.

Is Alberto still a possibility for last day----he does sound exciting
