  1. This. He's a ****
  2. I'm obviously watching a different team to everyone else and I feel sorry for MP. We look good defensively and in Romeu and Lemina we have an excellent duo who will be difficult for most teams to compete against. The tempo we play at is significantly higher than last season and i don't see the same lack of urgency in the team that there was last year. But the side is being let down massively by Tadic, Davis and Redmond who just aren't contributing anywhere near enough in attacking areas to give Gabbi or Long some service. Redmond is particularly is a woeful player who I think I've only seen him once this year actually take on an opponent. Cowardly football gets you nowhere and in Redmond and Davis we have two cowards. I'd like to see us try 3412 with Boufal behind Long and Gabbi but I think MP was right about it not being an issue of strikers or formations, we just need the attacking and creative players in the team to start earning their PL wages. Boufal has not had enough chances this season and I think we need to give him a run of games in a central position and ask him to be the main man in this team, because I've seen enough of Redmond to know it will never be him
  3. He signed a new 5 year deal in September... What a moron. Why do these players sign long term deals if they aren't happy with the terms of them?!
  4. I'd accept the job offer and work out my notice, AS PER THE TERMS OF MY CONTRACT. And the that is the important part, he signed a 6 year contract without a release clause, and he did that because he got a huge pay rise and security in case of a serious injury. But what the club gets from that is some control over how, when and to whom we choose to accept offers from to sell him. It is outrageous for him to behave the way he is having only signed that contract 12 months ago, he should be getting on with his job and playing for us, and if and when we accept an offer for him then he is entitled to leave. It's very simple and there is no absolutely no defending his position. Loyalty to Puel? His contract was paid up! We didn't "sack" him in the normal sense. There have been numerous cases when the roles have been reversed and a club would like to get rid of a player but the player refuses as he knows he can't earn the same money elsewhere. Osvaldo and Ramirez spring to mind, we'd have loved to have got rid of them earlier than we did, but the players quite rightly refused to leave unless their contracts were paid up in full. See Winston Bogarde "He has a contract to play football for us, that's it". Exactly, he isn't playing! As for players not wanting to join us if we don't allow them to move on, which club are they going to join instead? Stoke, West Ham, Leicester? I don't see any other clubs promising to just let players leave whenever they feel like it. They'll still join us because we offer very good wages compared to most clubs in Europe
  5. It's amazing how they get away with it. You only have to look at the Shaw and Morgan transfers to Utd to see how things should and can be done, pretty quietly without much of a fuss. We have sold a fair few players over the last few years and yet the only times it's turned sour have been when that club has been involved. They, and scousers generally, are absolute vermin
  6. It sends out totally the wrong message if cave in and give him what he wants. And we won't be getting 70 million for him either now if we look to sell him. Really poor from Reed if this is true
  7. LR needs to hold his nerve. VVD will strop and sulk until 1st September, at which point he has no choice but to get his head down and get back to work
  8. What were they? They've just given Forster a new contract so they won't be replacing him clearly. Assuming we don't sell VVD or Bertrand we look pretty well set at the back with Stephens emerging as a real talent and Yoshida improving last year as well. Gabbi, Austin, Gallagher and Long is a good selection of strikers. The club will obviously be expecting a lot more from Boufal and Hojbjerg this season, and they should expect more with the talent they showed at times last season, as well as the fees spent on them. We could sell Clasie and replace him (I think I would personally) and maybe one more attacking player although that depends on where MP wants to play Boufal and Gabbiadini. There really isn't much to do, we struggled last season with a poor manager and we have no Europa league either this year
  9. I'd like us to try he following but I doubt we will ..................Forster ....Stephens VVD Bertrand Cedric Romeu PEH McQueen ..................Boufal ..........Gabbiadini Austin
  10. I'd be surprised if he wasn't. Improved with every game last season and we've given him a pretty decent contract by all accounts. I'd be surprised if Les didn't anticipate him being first choice with VVD
  11. Not really sure why we're happy to sell at that price. He's a very good player and it's not as if we have a superstar talent ready to break through. McQueen is coming along nicely but Targett doesn't look good enough.
  12. They've sold/are selling their best players and replacing them with cheaper ones. Where have I heard that before?
  13. I read a stat recently that Lukaku was involved, either rough scoring or assisting, in 50% of their goals last season. That was by far the highest in the league. They can spend a lot this summer but if they sell Lukaku and don't replace him well then they're going to have an average season
  14. If the club want to report them then that's their prerogative, but if we really are that angry about it then we simply don't sell him to Liverpool. And unfortunately I only see one outcome and it will be VVD to Liverpool for 50 odd million plus add ons, and with Celtic's cut we're suddenly looking at 40 million for us at most. We have never/will never be in a stronger position with a player than we are right now, but I just don't see us standing firm
  15. I'd rather we just refuse any bids from Liverpool for him rather than report them. But I bet we end up selling him to them
  16. We wouldn't have ever bought VVD if we'd had that mentality
  17. For the first time in a while the club holds all the cards. 5 years left on his contract and no need to sell. I don't really care what his true market value is and neither should the club, and with that in mind I'd be disappointed if we don't see near 60 million from the deal, and that's after Celtic have had their cut. So it's either 70 million or they do a deal with Celtic to reduce their fee, and if not he stays
  18. The concern is that I think the club think Matt Targett is good enough. He isn't
  19. And we won't be forced into selling, if we do it'll be because we feel the offer is too good to turn down and the money would be more beneficial to us than the player. I wouldn't sell him for less than 25-30 million, and it goes without saying that we would need to replace him and not rely on Targett and McQueen
  20. What does it matter if we finish 8th or 15th, apart from a few quid which is meaningless in the grand scheme of things anyway? If we aren't competing for Europe and we aren't in a relegation battle then we are simply making up the numbers, and I won't criticise the club for that as the teams above us are miles ahead in terms of revenues. All I want from a manager is to avoid relegation, actually try and win the cups, and play football that's worth paying 40+ quid a ticket to watch. I don't agree that this squad of players isn't capable of playing much more exciting football
  21. He thought we'd get 4 more points, we ended up with 5. Over the last couple of seasons 46 points would have you finishing 13th, Puel has been very fortunate that such a low points total got you into 8th this year.
  22. We did have strikers, it's just that the manager chose to play them in a rather odd way. We started the season with Austin playing out wide. That is mental in anybody's book surely? Nobody forced PUel to change formation the diamond, he chose to do that himself. Shane Long was very effective under Koeman who was prepared to play on the counter attack in games to get the best out of him. Puel refused to do so. Rodriguez has never been given a real run in the side at any point to get some rhythm back after a long lay off. He has totally mismanaged our forward players all season The only reason we have VVD to sell is because we didn't sign TA. And the only reason we ever had him is because we sold Lovren. The only reason we had Mane is because we old Lallana etc etc. Were TA, VVD and Mane "cheap 'ok' players" when we bought them?
  23. Apart from the penalty what good chances did we miss?
  24. We didn't need to sell players to be sound financially but we did need to sell to a)raise the funds to bring in more players to make the squad bigger and, more importantly, b) to stop players running down their contracts. That's how i interpreted it anyway
  25. I don't know much about Silva and whether he'd be the right fit for us, but he has done an incredible job this season when you look at just how terrible the Hull squad is
