Wonder if this manager is trying to draw his way to a longer contract. Seems he is desperate not to lose games first and foremost
-
Don’t forget he plays for 3 points every game, because he keeps telling us that. Joker
-
What a shock he kept the same shape and formation throughout! Shit scared of changing it. Clueless
-
Not sure who he’s trying to convince saying that on repeat every game. Himself?
-
That’s one take on it. Utter fucking drivel is another
-
The “slowing down at saints “ argument is completely re writing history just to make his return now look like a big “I told you so”. I don’t remember anyone saying that he wouldn’t get in our team anymore, the day he left. Hilarious
-
Not sure about number 1’s, but to be fair, our current goalkeepers can all be very comparable to a great big steaming number 2
-
Precisely, which makes the basic points per appearance argument on its own, misleading. But then most people realise that, other than the stoic Baz defenders. It’s all a bit odd because i tend to want my team to have a decent keeper in goal and I’d assume every other fan would too. Clearly not judging by some of the Bazunettes on here
-
We’ve already got enough of those at the club
-
Do tell me what you’ve seen with your eyes that makes him “a lot better than most people seem to think”. This is laughable that we have random people coming out of the woodwork telling us that our eyes have deceived us for the past 4 years, along with the actual saves/goals prevented / saveable shot stats where he’s been down at the bottom every single season. Fucking ridiculous.
-
Now If you could give us the shots on target faced for each of those games, that would be more relevant, for example some games we’ve won with Baz in goal, he simply has had nothing to do and barely had a shot to save. In fact some games we’ve won whilst Baz has still conceded 50% of the shots he’s faced in the game .
-
You’re right, it defies all logic. To continually play a keeper who’s statistically and visually the worst in the clubs history to have played the number of games he has, it is bonkers but I’m all out of alternative reasons as to why you’d keep picking a clown like this who’s relentlessly costing us points. It’s merely coincidence that everyone - fans, pundits, other teams coaches, think he’s a poor keeper and the weak link of the team - yet remarkably the only ones who apparently don’t are the managers we’ve had lately under this ownership. Wonder what the connection is? Let me dumb it down a bit - I wouldn’t say managers are being “forced” to play him, but there’s almost certainly something going on where there’s some encouragement from within to persist with him. Hence buying a waste of time 3rd choice keeper who won’t ever get near to challenging him.
-
The SR blueprint is to play Baz at all costs, so now they’ve got their own little project in as manager, don’t expect that to change regardless of the results, or his performances
-
Yep, exactly what I said a few days ago. The similarities are becoming more apparent with each game. The rigid unadaptable style, clueless in game management, refusal to change style or shape, or formation, and bland like for like substitutions that do little to help us improve during the match. Add to this his seemingly being content with performances way below what this squad should be giving, and he’s really no better than Selles.
-
Spoken like a true puppet to his bosses. Who’d have thought it
-
It’s been clear for a while that we are finishing mid table and comfortably short of the play offs, performances and results like this just underline as much. Another wasted season under this utterly cretinous ownership group is imminent.
-
Good idea, I might soon too
-
Are they actually coached how to keep a defensive shape and how to stop crosses coming in, and even tracking runners? This is a fucking joke for the money we’ve spent
-
Slow, ponderous, not closing down or pressing, ambling about, waiting for them to score. Fucking abysmal
-
I mean, I think most of us have already accepted what’s likely to happen tonight , having seen the early knockings of this game.
-
Baz making it as easy as he possibly could for them to score there, rooted to his line looking the size of a jelly baby in there
-
Yeah sounds good, we are lethal in the second half , after all. Bound to work….
-
Like conceding goals from shots that should probably be saved? And thereby costing us points? But he can pass it about needlessly to his centre backs a bit better, which don’t result in us scoring goals more often than he concedes shots at his own goal. Utter genius.
-
It’s clearly not picked on performances or actual effectiveness and ability to stop the opposition scoring goals, that much is clear. But more because our owners are desperate for their investment to work, their pet project.
-
I did say that Tonda won’t change a thing regardless of results. We could lose 5-0 tonight and New Year’s Day will be the same players and the same formation, and the same keeper. Hes going to stick with this way regardless of results.
