He played in that game and for them it was a memorable day, as it would’ve been for us if roles were reversed, what he said there is hardly a huge insult or disrespectful to saints fans is it? If he’d said “always a great day to smash the scummers” or something similar that mocks us personally, I’d agree a bit more.

The over the top hostility towards him was ridiculous in my view, yeah he was out of his depth but, for a fanbase who quietly sit on their hands and don’t protest against others far more culpable in our decline, who also preceded to politely applaud even worse performances overseen by Selles afterwards, was bizarre. The better manager of those 2, has certainly become patently obvious since then.

This alone ought to be enough to rule him out of the running of getting the job long term 🤣

Again, they’re in the premier league, I wouldn’t really want O’Neill anywhere near us in the premier league. I wonder how many clubs in the bottom 6 of the champship would turn him down, however. The two leagues are worlds apart

Because they’re in the premier league and can probably set their sights a bit higher. We are down the bottom of the championship. Not really difficult to work out.

Would be very surprised if we won this, can see a draw at best. Wednesday aren’t as bad as their position suggests. They’ve had some very decent resilient away performances: would not be surprised at a 1-1 draw, and if we’re as bad we were against Preston , we will almost certainly lose again.

I like the added touch of having Downs as captain.

He really doesn’t look 6ft 2, looks 6ft at the tallest, but then maybe the fact he’s physically not very strong makes him also look smaller and shorter than he actually is.

My view is they’ll give him the rest of the season , in effect writing it off as one just to “stabilise” in this league, as they’ll use the excuse that there will be more managers available in the summer and there wasn’t an outstanding candidate at this time, Absolutely ridiculous , but these owners are just that. Ridiculous. If it happens, that’ll be 2 consecutive seasons written off before Xmas, which illustrates just how bad the running and planning of the club has been if your season is done 1/3 of the way through. We could still get top 6 of course, but the club clearly aren’t thinking that way if they appoint this guy.

Can I ask what current attributes/ potential he’s currently showing that makes you suspect he’s going to a top keeper in his 30s? Because I see nothing other than he’s ok with his feet, which means he’d probably be better playing outfield. With his hands however, he’s shit, with no signs of improvement to date since we signed him. And let’s not even start on his positioning and awareness.

Exactly my point. Yet it seems that some of our fans think that if he breaks into more than a jog and chases one ball per match, then that classifies his performance as ok and an improvement. That’s how low standards are now when it comes to this guy. Hes crap, he shows little effort, just because he actually ran after a ball once or twice and showed a slither of determination with one attempt to chase a ball, doesn’t suddenly mean he played well. It’s a joke he’s even coming on as a sub.

Blistering cameo again today - really left everything out there. The main reason we couldn’t get out of our half at the end was because he was nowhere to be seen to offer an outlet.

The fact we’ve spent some serious serious money for this league, and this is what we are left with, tells you all you need to know about the people running this club. They’re absolutely killing it month by month

Yeah I can’t believe anyone who supports this club would have a pattern of consistently moaning, when we’ve won 4 games in the last 18 months. The nerve of it. Keep happily clapping away guys, that’s the spirit.
