Green Army 75's Achievements

  1. The only chance he had was admitting his recorded behaviour was abhorrent, publicly apologising for his actions and saying he would get help. The fact his agent hasn’t persuaded him to do this to salvage his career speaks volumes about Greenwood’s character. There isn’t a team in the country that gets better with this type of character in the dressing room.
  2. Probably not. We’ve enough problems of our own! The problems you have stem from the Premiership being too greedy at the expense of the Football League which I guess is fine until you drop into the Football League. It seems that your parachute payment is £45 million this year. Our entire wage budget for the year is around £11 million. It doesn’t seem fair does it and will eventually mean the Premiership is even more of a closed shop than it is now….. I remember Watford finishing runners up in Div 1 in the 80s and Wimbledon being in the top half as budgets were comparable. Not sure we will ever see that type of league again.
  3. Then your ire should be directed at the manager surely? If the player isn’t good enough then it’s the managers problem. Especially if he has the option to pick someone else and he keeps picking a weak link? As long as the player is giving their all then we can’t complain Imagine if you were put up front for the Saints I’m sure you’d try but will probably be out of your depth The crowd should hold the manager to account for your lack of talent - not you!
  4. All in all, even as an Argyle fan, it would be fair to say to you deserved the 3 points. Our young team gave their all but rushed and panicked in the first half when we had promising positions and made the wrong choices with the ball. Second half you came out and had cleary been told to be more direct and productive with the ball. Eventually the pressure you could exert paid off. I am left with 3 thoughts 1). I think we’ve enough to stay up. 2). The transfer window should shut before the season starts. Will our competitors have to defend the same forward line as we did? 3). I’m really surprised how critical some of your fans are of your players! Best of luck for the rest of the season.
  5. Who told you that??!!! The pitch will be excellent.
  6. Don’t underestimate the quality you have in your team though. Most of our team played in league 1 last year and most of yours played in the Premiership. You should be confident of coming here, dominating the ball, keeping it tight at the back and nicking a goal from a set piece etc.
  7. The whole team is quick. I’ve never seen anything like it. (Our right back will stand out as being slow tomorrow due to injuries to others who play there). We hope you play a high line and try to press us in our half and leave space in behind. Hardie, Mumba and Whittaker are all lightening quick and the right ball will get played eventually. Randall and Cundle in midfield are hugely competitive and are both box to box midfielders as well. I think this constant threat of pace is why we score so many goals in the final 30 mins of games. Defenders just get worn down. Although we know your team is of a different quality and we’d take a point right now if you offered it.
  8. True. They were good but I think if you wish to judge the quality of league 1 you need to limit it to players and teams in league 1. The fact that a core group of players continued to improve and, with a strengthened squad, gained another promotion is fabulous for the fans but those players weren’t in league 1 when you got into Europe - they had had 2 more years of development and coaching.
  9. Oh I see. Did get 101 points as well?
  10. Greetings from the Green Army. Welcome to an excitable Home Park. We are a tremendously well run club that is hugely over achieving. Our budget last year was 14th biggest in League 1 and is no doubt the smallest in the Championship. We have no debt and only spend what we bring in. However we only bring in players that can be sold on for a profit….and they must have pace. Argyle are fit, athletic and will hound for 100+ minutes. Each player is developed to play one position and become an expert in that position. However, we may not have a fit right back at the moment so will be vulnerable down that flank. Be under no illusions that are target this year is 4th bottom. Anything else is a massive bonus. We expect a defeat on Saturday given your pedigree but hope springs eternal. We have won every match at HP in this calendar year so we do play with confidence and our subs scored the most goals in all 4 divisions last year (33 I think) and we do like a last minute winner 🤣. We will attempt to hound you all over the pitch and will attack directly when we get the ball. Our midfielders know they get subbed if they pass side to side. They have to go forward to our front 3 of Whittaker, Mumba and Hardie. They’re our chance of staying up. You will have most of the ball as we will create chances or give the ball away trying. We are the opposite to Ipswich who will try and bore you to death with possession. However we are realists and the difference in quality is vast. We are perennial underdogs. It got farcical last year when the pundits were calling Ipswich the best ever League 1 team…whilst we were top……and they never did catch us. We are a hugely popular club now and tickets sell out before they get to general sale so if a Saints fan was lucky enough to get in the home end I suggest you keep a very low profile.
