I agree. He has a quick instinctive football brain, I sometimes think the reason things don't come off from him is because he's thinking is that bit ahead of others around him.

Should be the Saintsweb motto

Who needs sources? I haven't been on Saintsweb long but I learned pretty quickly that most of what's posted on here is in the poster's head and nowhere else.

As did I, but to me the problem was the quality of those crosses. In my opinion far too many were able to be easily dealt with by the opposition defence. Compared to the balls that ,for instance, Luke Shaw used to put in a high percentage were awful.

Sky sports reporting that Chelsea interested in O'Riley as replacement for Gallagher who's off to Athletico Madrid. edit sorry thought I had a scoop there but realised it's old news. Just add -er to main words in my user name.

What a decent season looks like for a poor PL team
Oldandtired replied to benjii's topic in The Saints
When you look at the squads the better, even mid, PL teams have assembled it’s hard to be optimistic about the coming season. So we have to pick off the weaker teams when we can. It will be a successful season if we manage to avoid relegation in my opinion. As regards to being in the prem I hope it’s enjoyable. Given the prem refs, var, and the above perhaps the jury is out on that. -
Like all the other answers to the hypothetical questions in this thread I suppose we'll find out in a few weeks time...

So was I....Bishopstoke that is. hopefully him and Arma will bring out the best in each other.
-
Proven? Really?

If we get him here and when he makes his first big mistake as being Ramsdale he will do, he will get pelters on this forum same as the others have done.

La Liga players didn't do too badly last night...

I find it amusing that you're moaning about an app within an app...
-
Ah ok, thank goodness for that.

Hope this isn't correct https://www.facebook.com/share/p/QdBZEKHyhvJDH5Nn/?mibextid=K35XfP

It clearly is.

Ipswich seem to be splashing the cash and are linked to more. I suppose they're not subject to the same financial restrictions we seem to have.

I'm not sure there is an ironclad correlation between age and non-use of technology. I'm 75 and my whole world is on my iPhone, it's made my life so much easier. Why scrabble around among the fluff and detritus in your pockets looking for a bent up piece of card or a deformed piece of plastic when all you need is your phone? Bring it on I say. Obviously most of my friends are all of a certain age and I'm sorry to say that with a lot of them it's not case of they can't embrace technology it's just that they're too lazy to. 'It's how I've always done it' does not necessarily mean that's the best way.... but each to their own I suppose.

As always diametrically opposed other opinions are available….

As alluded to in some of the posts above to me also it almost feels like we're planning for the season after this and relegation. The players we've signed so far seem like they would do a good job for us in the championship but I can't see them setting the Premier League on fire.
-
I can't work out whether it's ominous or not how quiet it seems to have gone on Downes. Given how important to the team he was last season I would've thought that heaven and earth would have been moved to get him on the books asap.
-
Can anybody enlighten me with perhaps a degree of certainty, given how much we got for going up, given FFP, how much exactly we have got to spend this transfer window? I keep reading assertations that we've got nothing thanks to FFP, then we're linked with players for a few million, does anybody actually know what the figure, if anything, is?
-
No, but I don't expect him to keep playing him game after game when he patently is not good enough. I've seen various gks come and go since the days of Bob Charles, and in terms of shot stopping, dealing with crosses etc. GB has to be up there with the worst we've ever had.

His judgement is poor in the fact he rates Bazunu, nothing to do with whether he worked with him previously or not .
-
Really? He rates Bazunu and Manning so I’m not sure I do trust his judgement.
