TBH I think he could be a key figure for the club for years to come, long after his playing days are finished. He’s been there, done that, got every t shirt under the sun and apparently is an excellent communicator. Future academy guru?
-
You do realise he’ll only be #1 till Baz is fit….

I don’t know what’s more entertaining…the game or the bollox being posted on here.
-
If we do get him we’d better get ready to give him some stick…

Have Swansea got any more for sale?

I'm expressing an opinion about a hypothetical situation. Full stop. Calm down.

With the standard of defenders that Arsenal have in front of me so would I be.
-
Is it the players or the system though? RM’s system demands cannon fodder not creativity, for me it’s as plain as day that any player who likes to think outside of RM’s box will be tossed aside. I honestly believe that Ronaldo or Messi in their heyday wouldn’t get a game in the present setup.

I agree about AM. Also watching the highlights from the weekend quite a few members of the elite goalkeepers union made memorable cock ups.
-
To be fair I wish we displayed the same ambition and imagination as Brighton have in both player signings and managerial appointments. Unfortunately in my opinion they seem to have got a lot right of what we have seemingly got wrong.
-
Let's be honest there's no point in signing more of the same players. To me it was painfully obvious on Saturday that as a system with average players it's just not going to cut it in the Premier League. At times we made forest look like Real Madrid, so I don't really want to think about what an on form City or Arsenal will do to us. In my opinion we need flair, imagination and creativity in both our team and system If we are to even compete let alone win. On Saturday's showing we appear to have none of that.

Late again so deleted

Isn't he hanging on for Newcastle to pay up his contract?

McCarthy’s not alone in making cock ups. None of the haters have mentioned it but did anybody see England’s No 1’s howler from yesterday? Wonder if Everton fans are crucifying him? If ever Top Trumps brought out a ‘Goalie Balls Ups’ set that would have to be right up there. Made AM’s one from the other week look, well, less….

Didn’t have to watch Brighton, for me ONE of the big differences yesterday was the speed of the Forest transition. No 5 yard sideways me to you to me nonsense, they knew where the opposition goal is and how to get there quickly. Let’s face it, without that missed first half tap in and Macca’s saves they could easily have had five yesterday.

Martin can't find a position for any flair players in this highly mediocre team. 68 years I've been watching Saints, good or bad I've usually been entertained at least. Unless something changes drastically I fear there won't be much of that this season.

I think it took about three minutes in to sing the shitty Pompey song. That has got so old now...
-
I'm with you there. I thought he flattered to deceive today, had some mazy runs but got caught in possession a few times. Also I've thought for awhile with him that there's no doubt he is a class footballer but more often than not he doesn't look up when he's on a run to see if he can release the ball a bit quicker. For me he seems to hold onto it just that little bit too long.
-
Bazunu does not possess the basic requisites for a keeper such as keeping the ball out of the back of the net.
-
Doesn't that happen all the time on here?
-
My welder says you can't go wrong with Steele.
-
I think it's that sort of large minority that's called a majority. I watched every home game he played in last season, I'm too old and tired for the away trips these days and, in all honesty, I didn't even see him as a championship keeper let alone in the prem.
-
Lopsided talent. OK on his right, not so on his left.

The most pertinent comment in this thread.

I’m not defending AMc but how many times in a match do you outfield players misplace even a five yard pass. I guarantee it happens multiple times, but no-one jumps on that particular bandwagon. The only difference is that an outfield player’s balls up doesn’t normally lead to a goal, the keeper’s sometimes does, the mistake is the same.
