  1. I think both will go and I think we’ll get what we value them at. There’s no real rush from either side, it will go nearer end of window, each just waiting for the other’s knees to buckle. But I think we’re in the driving seat and it may even end up in a bidding war over Lavia. JWP to West Ham eventually. With regards Walker Peters, somebody’s going to get a bargain there imo.
  2. They've spruced up the outside of the away entrance, the locals have noticed that it now sports an arse-eating owl!
  3. You read it well. I think it really does depend on who we’ll sell and have lined up to come in. If this happens as ‘rumoured’ then I’m confident (but can see it mostly in last few days/hours of window) if little changes then it’s battling for play-offs. I’m quietly confident those now pulling strings will get it right.
  4. If a player gobs off, slags the club, withdraws effort or just downs-tools to manufacture a move I can understand him getting abuse. But players like Elyounoussi who are guilty of no more than just not being good enough for that level should be immune to vitriol. He didn't continually pick himself, he just did the best he could when picked, it wasn't good enough but he's a reasonable player at a certain level like at Celtic and like before we bought him. Good luck to him, hope it works out.
  5. From memory don’t think they can mix and they’re probably pretty strict on fan movement in that stand with past history. Both tiers will have a lot of empty seats due to safety regulations but we’ve now got the 3 central blocks in the lower with a further 300 on sale. 3,100 in total, not too shabby for a 400-mile round trip on a Friday night.
  6. Yeah, not far from where we we stood in the bottom corner, the only space on the terrace that you could move. did every round that year, all away, Forest, skates, Blackburn (Friday night) and Sheff W. Good days out.
  7. Shankly had just bestowed that nickname on us when I first got into it, my uncle used to drink with some of them (even a night before a game!) and that's what he always called them. It made a lasting impression on a young nipper. Been to Sheffield many times over the 5+ decades I've been going, both Wednesday and United (I wasn't there that day but some may have heard the story about Coombsey's Commandos in the 70s at Brammall Lane!). I've tried to find footage of when we went to Hillsborough in the FA Cup in 1984, live on the BBC but an estimated 10,000 made the trip. We had the entire Leppings Lane end, something like 4 or 5,000 in the seats in the upper tier and even more rammed on the (infamous) terracing on the lower. Only a brief grainy video but the game itself was fairly dour - replay was better.
  8. Nice one, I only counted 9 left when I was on last night - and believe the ‘oldies’ bus pass is valid all over the country. That would make one long away trip if you used it all the way to get there! Cheap though 😁
  9. Better be quick, there was only 9 tickets left yesterday but we may possibly get another batch.
  10. Looks like they’ve given us less than 500 seats in the lower tier so will look a bit naff on TV. Even though, like the top tier, the capacity has been cut for safety reasons I think they usually let around 1500 in the lower, seems strange if they only allowing us a third if so, unless they’re still hoping to sell some to home fans?
  11. It's time we gave it back to the sea.
  12. You did better than us in 1984. Took forever to get past Winchester (usual Hockley Lights nightmare) and long slow trek in and particularly out of Sheffield. But there was around 10,000 of us hitting town that day (live on TV then too). And these days the capacity is under 35k - being first game back up, and full away support, I believe they're still expecting a crowd of under 30k. Around half of our tickets went on the first day of restricted sale so just a shame we couldn't have got more tickets, guess they're holding back the lower tier for home fans in the hope they suddenly get a surge in sales.
