  1. Needed to happen much earlier. But I ain’t going to criticise our fans. Martin and Rasmus are unemployable.
  2. That sign over the East Stand ‘Mr Blobby In, Branfoot Out’ at the Port Vale FA Cup game has come true 30 years on.
  3. Maybe he isn’t sacked straight away but that is big trouble brewing with all those senior figures convening like that in one place. Could be the only time they could all come together in the diaries and Martin’s fate was already sealed? The cameras are odd I’ll grant you, but SR do a lot of very odd things. It’s as subtle as a fart in Winchester Cathedral that’s for sure and they don’t care about being seen.
  4. I wouldn’t be so sure, I can see Bitcon in that picture MB posted and that might well be Dragan on the end. You don’t have a meeting of very senior figures like that mid-match unless the 💩 is hitting the fan.
  5. Sadly not but been at enough workplaces and boardrooms to know what that gathering looks like - it’s always a big cheese going. Not being very discreet about it either.
  6. Have a look at the SR thread, if that was the plan I’d say it just changed.
  7. Have a look at the SR thread, it’s a bit more than remote….
  8. I doubt he will be giving a press conference. Lallana if he’s there might be covering them instead, will likely be in charge at the weekend.
  9. Russell Martin is gone, that’s a racing certainty after more ridiculous playing out from the back and defensive disasters. I reckon it won’t end there though, I reckon we could be looking at the restructure of SR, Rasmus sidelined with Kraft and a new DoF coming in.
  10. Martin is definitely going tonight even if not formally confirmed until tomorrow. That’s only the battle - the war is that Rasmus Ankerson has to be in the cross-hairs of every Southampton supporter.
  11. I’d actually take 1-9 right now, Could easily be a lot worse.
  12. More than that after Man U. Five games IIRC and ought to be 6 weeks wages in fines becuase neither were unlucky in the slightest. Crapped all over Martin there after all the things he’s done for him. Martin is a total knob but Jack has pushed him right under the bus.
  13. It needs to be to rub Martin and Rasmus’s nose in it. One will be leaving SFC tomorrow and the other dissolved out of SR I should imagine for gross incompetence. Dragan’s nose will be getting rubbed in it on national Serbian TV by his domestic foes. I sense a reaction coming on.
  14. Our fanbase is impressive on numbers, especially away these days, so I’m reluctant to criticise, but the lack of ambition and urgency to kick the owners up the arse is staggering. Far too compliant. If they don’t feel confident or strong enough to turn on Martin then leave all the home areas empty after half-time - that will make just as big an impact.
  15. Suspended after 5 yellows.
  16. #1, #2 and #3 have all made hideous errors with their feet because they are goalkeepers. Catching, stopping, that sort of thing. Not the crazy shit beardy wants them to do. #4 Bazanu is better with his feet but as much a goalkeeper as Paul Merson was David Seaman. Gavin couldn’t catch crabs from a prostitute in Bevois Valley.
  17. If SR are determined to keep Martin, the only way that’s possible is that his ‘philosophy’ goes in the bin. Looked good in open play but that is a horrific goal to concede and there’s been plenty like that. Get their defence under pressure, tell the manager to fuck off and play it in Chelsea’s half.
  18. Lovely play from Archer and KWP, Joe is rewarded for gambling on the run and finishes well. Edit - and more playing around at the back garbage.
  19. A former colleague many years ago detested board meetings and used to do Sudokus on the boardroom table. Was the only way he could keep engaged. Me and my Director found it funny but not sure that the Chair did 😂
  20. He’d still be getting slated but he’s already as popular as a fart in a spacesuit for clinging onto the nomination as long as he did. Dems should have told him in 2020 that he’d be one term at his age and saved the grief later on.
  21. They’ve nearly all gone from being right or left-leaning to propaganda leaflets, written and edited by a pool of people who couldn’t get selected for seats or in Sarah Vine’s case trading off her ex-husband’s name, as Isabelle Oakeshott does as well. Even the Indy, the only one I do buy, has questionable ownership. Private Eye is the only print publication I make a conscious effort to carry in reading as it takes the piss out of everybody.
  22. In his final 12-18 months that was rumoured and after the West Ham FA cup rotation and hammering at Villa became painfully obvious on the pitch. Earlier on the players bought in - look at Ings’s form, JWP growth after Hughes nearly sold him to Watford, Redmond in RH’s first season.
  23. All the print media are in the shit financially to different extents. Telegraph is leaking £240m pa - that’s after rounds of redundancies, with a fairly obscure New York buyer coming in. Observer’s travails known about from those who read Private Eye hence the Tortoise buyout but Guardian has stabilised and in profit. Mail’s losses not as heavy as the DT’s but not good at £44m https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/losses-balloon-44m-daily-mail-091347288.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAACRJM_iadAB1PiBSVNqM6ezWqBIQd3k8UiHrYGOqz1ZWsff9bf0AJTtH-swoxDyuXqlHwCwnaIssescrUrAgAoLwin83qbttPCanhx3skMpBBr3-HqrzznVWV91uAuqChnmtGl18veAVsizyY0VzmvMNEwM0e5Z-oShcRCYNoOsd It’s the sharp decline in both in print and online traffic that is spooking them. Mail on Sunday effectively gone as a separate brand and all edited by the Conservative Party’s own personal bot Ted Verity. MOS used to be far better than the Mail, pity.
  24. Biden getting as much hammer from Dems as the GOP. Rightly so https://www.newsweek.com/list-democrats-criticize-joe-biden-pardon-son-hunter-1994237
  25. When the club has an experienced manager and backs them within reasonable limits, good things happen - Woodford and Lawrie; Lowe and WGS; Reed and Koeman. If SR had early Ralph as manager, I reckon he’d have been in the same bracket, money would have been invested better and RH would have told Rasmus to fuck off out of his space before he got worn down later on. It’s when the Directors or Chair start thinking they know better than the seasoned industry professionals when it goes horribly wrong. See Lowe/Wigley/Gray/SCW/Grow our own, Reed and Pellegrino, and Rasmus/Jones/Martin as examples.
