Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
Gloucester Saint replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Nor a ‘migrationary background’. Sounds like a mental health one in the main. -
Looks like it could be the interior paint design for the footbridge.
-
Most of their stadium was built before the war so it’ll certainly be retro. The toilets really are out of a museum.

That’s a fairly straight run up the M40 pretty much though. Leicester is a bit more fiddly and takes more time. Depends what part of London Jannik lives in as well. Would assume NW London.

Although he should be stabilising as he doesn’t move. Can’t believe Saints got their foolish money back on him!

Wonder if the senior player is Harry Winks?

John Bolton forecast what would happen on the Zelensky visit and makes a huge amount of sense, having been one of his longest-serving Secretaries of State first time around

I doubted it when people speculated that ESN was another login for Guided Missile. But after that batshit crazy, wardrobe mad post on Ukraine/Russia, it’s seems more possible they are one of the same. Not least that you’d have to be drunk as a skunk to post that stuff.

DOGE has meant Musk and his McDonald’s Saturday teenage janitors accessing IRS and pensions data for all Americans, whilst seemingly under compromat by Russia. Anyone spot a problem? https://baringslaw.com/press-releases/thousands-of-pension-holders-to-sue-capita-over-russia-linked-hack/

This story has been around a while before this source refreshed it again, but right wing outlets are now running with it in the UK and spreading to the US https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/02/13/trump-putin-secret-kgb-agent/ Some outlets posting the original story were attacked by DDOS, almost certainly by Russia https://www.bylinesupplement.com/p/breaking-crosspost-donald-trump-was

That tweet is the online equivalent of spraying political Fabreze (other air fresheners available of course) on the sofa he’d planned to share with Trump contained by Vance’s/Musk’s behaviour and which smells unpalatable to the British public. He can see the UK has moved closer to Europe again and for the long-run as NATO changes trajectory. Starmer won’t be unhappy with it at all as it backs up his bridging approach to date.

Even then trimming 15% off NHS England’s budget as well.

She’s paid a heavy price for not paying attention during the campaign ‘I knew I was voting against other people’ but did it anyway and it boomeranged. Democrats were far more likely to deliver on IVF. Don’t agree with the online messaging she’s been getting but good chance to invest her payoff in a good education so some positives may still come out of it for her.

Thanks for sharing Duncan. Did you get a sense that they understand what the mistakes are eg left field manager hires, wildly contrasting styles and too-cheap players at the level we’re at with too high a volume and seeing each one as a single transition, rather than building a solid spine and core with pace and physical power?

Shades of Schumacher 1982 WC here - did it really need to go to VAR? Foul play red card x10. Steve Parrish furious. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/videos/cvge808nyn2o

Time to let the Franchise boys in the middle order have their time flying around the world having a swipe wearing different nylon tops, getting the odd 50. Liam Livingstone in particular, and although Salt opens, he’s T20 biffer material, not suited to 50 over. Buttler has been a great white ball player but has been shit in an England for 2 years. Brook lucky to be in the side but we need some continuity. I’d make Duckett skipper and Brook deputy. Jamie Smith at 6 with the gloves, Jordan Cox needs an opportunity when fit.

Jeffrey Sachs as well, the mind behind disaster capitalism. Jesus Wept. What next from Nic? Icke on 5G? Le Tissier on crop spaying? Trump on injecting bleach for Covid?

Their Ukraine behaviour makes the international headlines but it’s DOGE that it is doing the domestic damage https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/senate-republicans-concerns-doge-meeting-white-house-rcna193914 Congressman Thomas Massie has some backbone and can see it is not going to be beneficial, but more of the GOP jellyfish need to turn at the Seante level, Congress was too weak https://www.yahoo.com/news/nkys-thomas-massie-stands-alone-165513220.html Especially as their national deficit will sharply increase https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/doge/doge-trumps-agenda-calls-adding-trillions-dollars-us-debt-rcna191665

Adam Boulton calls it right

Planted by Vance which gave him the chance to follow on with his attack. Vance is a such a weak little maggot. He’s ridden on Trump’s coattails, having previously called him America’s Hitler, no chance he would ever be elected for the main role. Hides behind Trump and Project 2025, but thinks he is the architect. Bannon might have something to say about that and it’s why it’s far from automatic that he gets nominated in 2028.

Or it was for Russian state TV to soften Putin up before the next talks, and then break the Russian position down further without Putin losing loads of face, because he is holding on at home. He wants to keep Putin in place to keep China guessing but not too strongly that it causes Vlad to eye up Europe. I hate Putin and would rather he didn’t exist but what followed what might more lethal still. Vance nearly blew that I reckon, Trump’s voice and facial expression towards JD were two different things at times.
-
The one thing about this regime is that it is unpredictable but I think they are also trying to reel Putin and Russia in a bit as well. I don’t excuse it at all, America would have wagged it’s finger if the UK had behaved like that to a Global South leader like that in the past, but this is a President who rebuilt his career from bankruptcy through Mark Burnett’s TV programme. He knows how to work the cameras and that just felt staged. He also takes Nixon’s Mad Man theory to an extreme.
-
Don’t get me wrong, the optics were horrific, but I’ve a gut feeling it was a bit confected. Trump knows Putin doesn’t like losing face, so he wouldn’t do it in public to him, but behind the scenes there might be less filter.
