At the risk of being pedantic, SFC are not a charity. They are a club that has not been run too cleverly. All credit to the organisers but to some this is akin to raising money for the RBS. Don't get me wrong, its a good idea but isn't 'charity' about supporting local orgnaisations who by their charitable status rely on donations to keep going. The Rainbow Centre, Rose Road and Naomi House for example?

Lets not get into this. Lawrie was a legend and should remembered as such. He has no place at the club now. We need to move on and attract investors that have had no previous connection with the club. Those that have been involved have all blown it one way or another. Look forward not back.

Did anyone hear Milan talking about Leicester's promotion push this season. He reckons it cost him £10m - twice what Crouch 'gambled' last year. The world has gone made. How can you justify that sort of invstment just to get to the CCC?

A sensible comment on an otherwise bizzarely paranoid thread!

You really need serious medical help if you feel compelled to keep on about this.

Is Saga still with us - I never noticed him on Saturday.... Scheiderlin and Holmes would be good starts to give us width against Watford. They have a good understanding between them.

I think you are an absolute Saint for even thinking such a thing. I thought I would get that in first. And if you want money from me, you will not be disappointed. Having said that, I think (hope) it will not be necessary. The night is at its darkest just before dawn.

Ouch that's a difficult post to respond to. Very sorry to hear your personal news. I've said the same about Lawrie Mac myself before (the quip about the Air Florida villa did make me laugh...) but at the end of the day I think I'd prefer to remember him for the good times. The point is that most people who get themselves involved in big clubs (and ones like Saints) have a similar personality. A ****tail of business acumen, arrogance, big ego's, vanity, greed - all mixed up with a few lesser qualities. The final mix could produce a Jack Walker just as easily as a Rupert Lowe. Many posters on here who constantly try and put down the Lowe Luvvies or defend Rupert without reservation almost fall into the same category. I think we have to accept the way of the world is - its all about back scratching, nest lining, devious dealings and so on. We need to get over it. Get down there Saturday,. Enjoy the football and maybe even a good result. I bet you a win will see me downing a few pints on saturday night and I will not give a toss about Rup, Lawrie or anyone else.

The club have never said we are close to administration, You lot are starting to believe your own postings!!

It's no more amazing than people writing us off 15 games before the end of the season when we are only 6 points from safety. I've not heard anyone saying our worries are over but 6 points from two games we expected little from is a good start. If you want relegation, keep talking it down though. If you want us to survive give the player a pat on the back for what they have achieved this last week.

You are actually saving more than the price of a match ticket. And at the end of the thread you seem to be acknowledging that it is not a bad idea - you just want to haggle a bit over the price. I do know of 3 season ticket holders who have taken this offer very seriously because if you consider the meal and the unlimited booze, it works out close to a good night out anyway!

Has anyone else noticed that the main culprits are absent fron this thread

Actually I think that was exactly the point he was making!

nowhere near doug ellis... ...yet

Wooooosh......!!!! If you want people to take you seriously, trying posting something that does not involve you finding yet another bizarre and, frankly, distrurbingly obsessive attack on Lowe. Maybe the news hasn't filtered through to you yet but we won yesterday and I for one will take that as an excuse to celebrate. Most of the misinformation about the clubs finances appears on this board (often posted by you) so I'm hardly surprised by your confusion. You need to get out more to appreciate a more balanced view.

Thats not a bad analysis. But it could so easliy have been written by JP. He always maintained that his team line up featured no full backs as such and he stuck to that pattern irrespective of the opposition beleiving (not unreasonably) that if we had possession, the 4-5-1 quickly became 4-3-3 (or even 3-4-3). I think the idea was good but even early on one or two players were expressing the view that we needed a plan B when the style did not work. I think the chopping and changing came about from trying to find the right combination of youth and experience at a time when individual performances were far from consistent. I don't think we changed our style of play and maybe that was his (JPs) downfall. So whilst I'm happy with the result yesterday - against other teams I would expect to see width coming from Holmes and Smith. But yes, I too long for the days when defenders and wide midfielders overlap like Marsden and Bridge used to do.

Echo full article -Wotte did not say protesters not true fans
Mowgli replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
Does anybody else get the feeling reading this thread that we really need to get out more? I've seen murder trials get less debate than this. The guy wants to win. We want to win. The players want to win. Life sucks sometimes.... ...we don't always get what we want. -
Only the last two or three games to be fair but having read on here about the protests for the Preston game i've wtritten that off too. I'll be back before too long I'm sure - I'll need my footy fix before too long and could not bear to watch anyone other than Saints. I'm a bit of a hypocrite really
-
The players board and shareholders are very clear about the fans perspective on things at the minute. A protest will simply look like children used to getting their own way and stamping their foot because we can no longer see Premiership football. We will be a laughing stock amonget the loyal fans of Forest, Leeds, Man City (to name but three) who have endured far worse these last few years. I have stood by Saints through thick and thin for 35 years and will continue to do so but I have stopped going to home games this season. Not because of the ****e dished up but because I can no longer stand and watch grown men in the stands picking fights with the next spectator because they have the cheek to sing a supportive song. A protest during the game takes that trend to a new (low) level. The lunatics really have taken over the asylum. In some ways I hope we are not relegated and with 14 games to go and 4 points off safety the suggestion that its all over already is frankly bizarre. Having said that, maybe relegation won't be a bad thing though because it will get shot of a few more fair weather fans. The day we stop harping on about how the mighty have fallen over the last five years and start thinking about what we are capable of achieving on our shoe string budget the better. Maybe then we can start going to watch a game just to analyse the 90 minutes without repeatedly drawing up the doom and gloom of the season as whole.

Probably because I am an eternal optimist and I see life through rose tinted glasses! But seriously there are a lot of poor sides in this league - a lot worse than us. Even early on in the season Mark Dennis, Dave Watson et al were telling fans to get back to the stadium as we were playing good football. They are young players but they are good players and with a little self belief (and some goals from Saga and McG!) they will pick up points. Home form is our failing really and I can't put my finger on why. Is it the poor tactics or the fear of playing in front of fickle fans? Either way, you're only as bad as your last defeat!
-
Oh, I thought you meant Micky Adams. No to Tony Adams - he just does not strike me as a motivator (and his track record appears to back that up). For the record, I do not think we will be relegated and even if we did, I suspect Wotte would keep his job for at least half a season. So many ifs, but if we were relegated and if we were looking for a manager, Mick might be an option in div One - its about his level.

Amongst a sad bunch of posts this week this post has to be the saddest. Its only a game FFS.
