I think you are trying to have a larf. Admittedly some centre forwards make good centre back in their later years because they have spent so many years in close proximity. I really hope Jonno does well here (rooting for the underdog) but at the moment he cannot pass, cannot tackle and gets caught in possession far too often. On the rare occassion he gets away from his man and still has the ball, there is a good chance he will get the ball in the back of the net. Clinical finisher and he is fast. Too early to say whether he has a footballing brain to match.

I'm surprised Butterfield has not been used more as he has different qualities to Richardson going forward. But Richardson is a good full back and defends well. So long as he keeps doing that well, he deserves his place.

With Lallana Chaplow Cork and Schneiderlin in midfield, we would have his work cut out getting in the team.... ;~)

Plays offs. No sweat.

He can write his own autobiography now though - so much to talk about...

Never really felt it appropriate to have a statue of someone who is still alive. Not even sure why we have to be so obsessed with naming roads, buildings, stadium and suites after people either. Its all a bit cringeworthy really. The man is a legend. Always will be. When I want to remember him I just put on the DVD. Still got Javi's MLT tribute CD which is totally awesome.

How far though? What has he actually achieved since his arrival in England (apart from pulling a few hot women who are mesmerised by his wit and good looks lol)?

I honestly believe that Gorkss was never a serious target. QPR are letting him go because they do not think he can hack it in the EPL. Combine that with his age and it just does not meet the criteria Saints have been using to sign player - under 25 and with ability / experience of playing at EPL level. He may just have been considered as a better option to Puncheon in a swap deal.
-
lol at this. The only thing that is evidenced as a mess is all the misguided speculation. I am not convinced Gorkks ever wanted to actually come to Saints. In my book we have an adequate squad to consolidate and maybe push for playoffs. Anything else is a bonus. Corks will prove to be the signing coup of the season. De Ridder will be up there too.

What an absolute load of tosh. In case you missed it, we won yesterday and we are top of the league. Almost every manager bemoaned the fact that the 2 games per week phase had taken its toll on the players. Far too many people are reading too much into the fact that Hammond and Lallana were subbed to 'freshen things up'. We sat back on a 1-0 lead and for a while Millwall had their tails up - just as we did when we were playing keep ball in the last five minutes. This is the same Millwall team that ran out of steam against Posh and threw away a 2 goal lead so will have been making sure they paced themseves a bit in the first half. If we were chasing the game for 70% of the time how coem we had 51% possession. Jeez.

I can see it now. Arsenal trailing 1-0 at the Emirates and the subs come on with 18 minutes left on the clock. Walcott and Oxo for Arsenal (to ironic cheers); Schneiderlin and De Ridder for Saints. Final score 3-0 to the Saints. #stayed at Southampton, you should have stayed at Southampton#

Given that Seaborne made the team of the week and Martin has put in some good performances too, not sure we need anyone assuming Jaidi is available as back up. We can review in January if req'd.

It would be nice but this is the Sun serialising a 22 year old's autobiography (sic) not a direct acknowledgement. Walcott has been ill advised to write a book so soon - especially as his criticism of the England set up seems to have been badly received by manager and team mates alike. No doubt over the months ahead we'll see Oxo scribbling away whilst he is sitting on the bench...

Ipswich 2 - 5 Southampton - post match fapping session
Mowgli replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Quote from NA summed it up for me - he said Schneiderlin was likely to be one of the top players in the Championship this season and he is struggling to get in the side... -
get in 3=0 (Connolly)

I don't think Solent Twitter mentioned that £4.5m had been refused either so I would not read too much into that . I heard it had been mentioned on solent too (along the lines of it appears that Burnely have accepted... ...etc etc) but have not heard it myself. It is clear though that Burnley have had a bid for Danny Ings accepted for £1m so it could be a lead in to Jay moving.
-
Of course it works both ways. If their defence is slow you want to draw them into the box and then break quickly.
-
Not even remotely funny - esp considering your location.
-
Very shoody proof reading lol.... ....if that's the worst we have to moan about its gonna be a great season (rolly eyed thingy)
-
I think that is why we signed De Ridder before he left. It would be nice to sign someone else but happy to wait till Jan to ensure we are not mugged ourselves.
-
They seemed quite happy when it led to Lallana's goal...

Good read on Harding and some good words from Kelv.. Funniest was guide to barnsley next week - Pubs: "drinknig in the town centre is not recommended.." lol.

bought the programme. Probably better quality than I have seen for some years.
-
Was that a full stop missing after no..?

I think you are being a bit unfair on the new guy. He did a good job in the friendly at the end of last season interviewing players during game.
