I have to say if jos is fit I think he should partner Martin. fonte is struggling atm.

I hate losing in the last minute. Can't remember the last time that happened. But cortese will not be too worried about the cup. Only 5 of the last 15 games were actually league defeats. Anyway, it is what happens from now that counts. We have new players settling in and hopefully that quality will see things start to gel. Can't believe anyone would seriously criticise NA at the moment

Saints V Millwall FA Cup Replay Match Thread!
Mowgli replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
I think a lot of people should be encouraged that NA knows how to challenge people in the dressing room and comforted by the fact that he will not do it in public. Happens in every dressing room and it is good to clear the air occasionally. He is the boss. The players need to know that. Lallana equalises and saints starting to turn it on apparently. -
Haha. 1/6d actually. And when you're 10 there are funny things that stick in your memory. Perhaps a slight exaggeration - but I do remember the ball occassionally disappearing in the storm at the other end. Thought the ref might call it off but no one else really seemed to be othered about that.

Absolutely brilliant. Almost deserves thread on its own to discuss. My first away game was Sheffield we'd boxing day 68 or 69.we slipped and slides to the ground and missed half the game cos you could not see one goal through the snow storm. That's why I get frustrated by postponements. It's far too soft a game now

Yes but didn't Arsenal offer £4m for Shaw before he made his first team debut?
-
True - and no accounting for certain match officials either!

What is the bloody obsession with frozen pitches. Someone yesterday was asking if the Cardiff game was in danger ffs. If the air temperature falls below zero during the day - for a prolonged period - there may be a chanceof the ground freezing. Day time temps are well above freezing at the moment and even night time temperatures are rising by the weekend. Back to football, the form book says Birmingham will win this but one thing that has proved very unreliable this season is the form book. Saints confidence is rising and I predict goals for both Lambert and Sharp on Saturday. 2-0 Saints.

Nice to see a fair amount of support for him on twitter. That will lift his confidence. Sounded like he was really working hard. Keep it up man!

Did he play? Listened to solent and whispering Dave kept referring to Bill Cowsky. He played quite well it seems

I was disappointed on monday too but I still enjoyed the game whole lot more than many prior to the 09-10 season. Disappointed because nothing seems to work for us - we were poor all over the pitch. But it was good to see a decent side like Leicester - they had several players that were Saints targets last summer and who ended up at leicester because they were stupid enough to pay big wages. I liked the way they worked hard for each other. I liked the way that Nugent and Konchesky wound up the crowd and one or two players (wish we had players like that). Above all I have so much faith in saints at the minute I felt if we had scored around 70-75 minutes we would have gone on to get something out of the game With Lambert and Chaplow possibly back for Tuesday... with Lee and Puncheon both with somethin to prove ... I'm optimistic!

We have two good Championship keepers and Kelvin would be OK in the Premiership but not for long. Assuming we go up and Leicester don't I would expect us to go for Kasper.

The official unofficial January transfer targets thread..

Rafik Halliche to be released by Fulham. Worth a punt? -
I see even some quite outspoken forum members have agreed to get behind him. Your almost unique stance says a lot more about you than it does Punch
-
In which case you will be pleased to hear that NA and NC have already started to identify summer targets even before they book their holidays. January is always a bit of a non event because the decent players are needed to push for promotion of avoid relegation and Championship clubs are not going to want to trade with their nearest rivals
-
Its no blood wonder football is in financial trouble when we think like this. We have 5 good centre backs at the club not counting the youth. Four are injured. Cork and Fox can both play at centre back. Part of the game is trying to survive through injuries with what you have got. Sometimes it is harder than other times (like now!) Having said that, with Jaidi retiring at the end of the season, I think NA is targetting a quality repcement anyway. But two? No way

It doesn't matter how many times you ask the same question. Building work is still on schedule and will start in March.

Piers Morgan has just described Oxo on twitter as Walcott but with brains lol
-
You are of course assuming the op is not just making it up. If he is not then its a pretty stupid move to put it on the web and give notice to leicester
-
Irony. Don't you just love it! I think it is the club keeping their mouths shut that has precisely led to others making up their own conspiracy theories. I see absolutely no point in rushing Lee or Farque through for the Leicester game. We have adequate players avaialble. The reason we are signing new players is to give us strength, depth and options for the rest of the season. So long as the deal is all tied up and players settled in by the end of the month that is fine. A couple of weeks training with the first time will be essential before they start seriously contributing to the first team. If they appear before that it will be from the bench just to give a little excitement to the crowd.
-
Now that would be an awesome signing. He surely can't see foxes going up this season.
-
Not unfair at all. A lot of the experts are saying he has bags of pace but no footballing brain. You can't teach that. You either have it or you do not. He does not. Chamberlain on the other hand will be better than Walcott and Dyer because he reads the game so well and has the vision to recognise the correct pass. Walcotts goal was good and that's how to use him. Only one option really and he took it well.

Stefano Okaka (Roma) according to Fourth Official on twitter.

Sorry. My bad. Scorer was Turnbull....

Omar Rowe has just put u18's 1-0 up. U16s are 2-1 up. Jake Sinclair has just replaced AARON Ward-Prowse. Is this an OS typo or does he have a brother?????
