  1. Sorry to be pedantic but this is not really for his boy and people might get the wrong idea about this. This is Billy and partner trying to raise awareness of Gastroschisis so research can be done into cause and cure. It's a very noble cause which will hopefully prevent another set of parents living through the nightmare that they had to endure. Thoroughly good cause and it has my support. I would like to think that the Saints Foundation could also adopt this as one of their causes as they are doing some tremendous work on fundraising both a community and corporate level
  2. Please please please do NOT compare us with. QPR. **** club, dodgy owners, pushed the prices up. Treated managers like ****. Deserve what's coming to them. Did you not see BBC prog 'the four year plan'?
  3. It's not that stupid. You make some good points about the need to improve communications but the OP never raised that in his first post, or the £3 levy, or the ease of buying. He seemed to feel that he was entitled to another two coventry tickets for his family or mates or whatever simply because he is a season ticket holder which is, frankly, laughable. I do feel for people (all people) who want to see this game and don't qualify for priority purchases but I do get weary of the seaon ticket holders who think they are special or the fans who live far away and feel they ought to get priority because they don't come over very often (MLT excepted of course - lol). You're right though - everyone is happy until it affects them personally and then they take a different view. Fickle? Us??
  4. I think they had a similar story about Connolly before the Barnsley game and he did not feature
  5. Anyone would think we were talking about Accrington Stanley. I've supported Saints for 45 years and I've seen plenty of highs. Promotion to the old first division. Cup Final win against Moan U. Two more cup finals. Runners up to Liverpool in Div 1. A trip to Steau Bucaherest. So let's not forget our history too quickly. They were great days. What I have not witnessed is a Saints team that has actually finished a season as Champons. I'm hoping.....
  6. He was key to their turnaround and with their run in - it does not look good for them on paper. still hope they get 2nd place though
  7. Sharp is seen by NA as a player to give us options up front. He will be a big part of our plans next season and a good back up for Rickie in the run up. Not sure anyone really expected Lee to hit the ground running as he did. It is very difficult for a new player to gel in a team on a hot run and Lee has proved the exception rather than the rule. Look at Maynard - has unsettled a side that was looking dead certs for promotion. Has done very little up front and spends more time on the wing. His confidence is suffering as a result. Another genius tactical move by BFS.
  8. Is that the Curtis who, along with matt young was given his first pro contract with saints yesterday? Congrats to them both.
  9. Saints Win, Reading Draw and WHU lose. That'll do nicely. Trouble is - anyone can beat anyone in this league.
  10. Could not give a toss about Millwall fans and just sorry that one of our own (allegedly) has lowered himself / herself to the same level.
  11. I think you lot have been caught hook line and sinker, evidenced by the fact that the op has not been back on. No one in their right mind would get worked up about this really. Especially when we are top of the league and having a laugh. ;-)
  12. Personally I quite enjoy them and don't mind if some of the crass comments come from me. as you say - it's all about opinions and who knows - this time next year the Guly threads will be being resurrected. What I find most interesting was the one or two insightful comments about him being too good for the Saints team as it was then. History has shown those comments to be very true indeed. (Did laugh at the Turkish contribution though..... ;~)). apologies!!
  13. I think it's just you. The rest of us are laughing with the original thread not laughing at it. Yes we've all done it and I'm happy to laugh at some of my own old posts.
  14. And this is the best of the lot!
  15. New Years Day 2011 - Saints 4 Exeter 0
  16. Thank God we have Adkins running the show. Most of the ideas here would completely destabilise the squad and we would struggle. I think a lot of people will be disappointed with our summer transfer activity but pleased with the outcome if you know what I mean.
  17. Wake up guys this is a new era at St Mary's. If you sign a contract there is an expectation that you honour it. It works both ways. If any player wants to leave to get more regular football then we should help them find a new club but if they are prepared to get their head down and work for a first team slot then good luck to them. Even Forte and Dickson. That said, I think there is an understanding that two expired contracts will not be renewed (Jaidi & Connolly). To strengthen the squad I would add just two players - Schmeicel in goal and Hooper up front. Even then, they may have to wait to secure a regular slot.
  18. Absolutely. My first game was home against Sunderland in 1967. 2-1 down at half time and we finished up with a 3-2 win. How can you not remember a game like that, First away game was at Chelsea where we also won 3-2 (there's a theme developing here). Never thought I would see 3 cup finals involving Saints (and that's not counting the Daily Exprerss five a side or the Teaxaco Cup Final v Newcastle).
  19. For goodness sake he only played 15 minutes at the end of the game.
  20. Bit of a no brainier really. A player who will do well for us long term but has not had the chance to really prove himself yet against a player who thrills the crowd almost every time he touches the ball. Has to be Lee for now but tonight, the style of play was to miss out the midfield and gt the ball to him quickly in the hope his pace would split the defence. That is not the wonderful passing game that has taken us to the top of the table. Hopefully it was chosen specifically for the Ipswich game and we will mix it a bit for Barnsley

    Lee Holmes

At last some common sense. Saints have invested a lot of time and money not just helping him recover from his injuries but a new diet and exercise regime that has helped to rebuild muscles in the lower leg to strengthen the ankles and minimise the risk of recurring injury. Forget what happened before. Like Puncheon, judge him on what he delivers from now. And yesturkish, minute for minute, I think puncheon has been as effective as Lee, fox and Richardson in the games he has played.
  22. I always think that. It's been the trademark of saints ever since I started supporting them. Plus Ipswich are second to Reading in the form league right now. That said, this is a very different Saints this season so there is a touch of optimism.
  23. So you write puncheon off after two games and Falque after a Cameo role in one. Jeez!
  24. Maybe a veiled criticism of he club flying the team up on the morning of the game. Would ave been better to get a nights rest beforehand
  25. Would love to see Reading go up with us. Keeps local derby on the schedules.
