I'm pretty sure he's acting on instructions as Shaw behaved very similarly against man city, passing it inside instead of taking the defender on. That day it went in the main down the right using Chambers. Clyne and chambers are very different players but will not always be given licence to take on the defenders.

RESTORE OUR RIGHT TO PRIORITY TICKETS FOR HOME GAMES - PLEASE!!!!!

You're being sarcastic right? -
Never had any doubts really. Shaw is the only one where the pressure could eventually become to great but the optimistic side of me thinks it is still a year or so too early for him to move. He is learning so much here and season by season, he finds the standard of players around him rising. No departures (other than maybe fringer players seeking regular first team football). Maybe two quality signings and it's another good season ahead I think.

Not on twitter for sure. He would never say anything on twitter that was mildly controversial would he!
-
As stripes go it's not too bad. Prefer plain though. Rank Xerox style appears to be the best compromise (who would have thought they would be still reaping the rewards of sponsorship so many years later!!).

Has this thread been 'bounced' from last April or the April before that?

Not really sure there is much to discuss. Administrative error. Fine. move on. We still lost. -

Lol. Wasn't going to respond but as there have been so many missing the point (or just being a tad sarcastic!) I just wanted to assure you than some of us knew exactly what you mean (and I've been supporting them 50 year!). For me, I think the test is having a shirt that is quite unique rather than one that looks like half a dozen other clubs. The sash and the Xerox kit did just that. I can see why people prefer stripes but there's now a psychological thing about us struggling in the Premier League for years (2003 excepted) in stripes and the plain red being associated with possibly the two greatest years in the clubs history of Premier League football.

Too many people on this forum with personal agendas. I fully accept that Katherine wanted more control and that meant Cortese had to leave. I fully accept that we appear yo have a new team who are very amenable toward the fans. But the way I see it, when Markus first bought the club he needed a very strong character to drag the club kicking and screaming out of the mire. It was not a time for Mr nice guy. It was a time for a trusted friend.

Agreed. But only if they are consistently performing well in the top half of the Premier League and starting to target European qualification.

The West Ham move will be interesting to watch. My head says 30k is about right for us but my heart says an expansion is a good investment. I can't help feeling that WHU will attract new fans simply because it is easier to get a ticket and once they go (assuming the first game is against saints of course!) they will be excited by the atmosphere and keep going back. We took 40k to Wembley so I see no reason why we could not attract 35k on a regular basis providing we are competing at the top half of the table

Is that the same Guly heavily involved in the third saints goal? I might have suggested it was worth talking about had we dropped 2 points but as Poch himself said, those sort of mistakes show the risk in our adopted style of play. Still need to learn from them though. If anything I would suggest that Boruc having an off day contributed more to the nervous ending. Not criticising though - everyone has an off day

J rod MOTM for me but agree Morgan was immense. As I was scrolling the thread though I started to remember how good Clyne was. His best game for a while. Gaston coming on nicely but still needs to man up a bit when in possession.glad we got the fourth goal as the two defensive errors threatened to darken the mood a bit.

No. I think we underestimate the big picture at southampton. Luke has been with us for over 10 years (which technically gets him a testimonial lol) and has loved his time here. He may be a Chelsea fan but southampton is his family. It would be a huge change for an 18 year old with no guarantee of silverware. If he wants champions league football he may well be better off staying here and see how it goes next season. Unless of course that was the agreement last summer :-/
-
I suspect we are already a hell of a lot closer than most people thought we would be before the season started.
-
J rod needs to work on his heading ability a bit before filling Rickies boots. Plays much better just off the central striker be it Rickie or Sam IMO

Wtf. Great season. Great football. Thoroughly entertained start to finish. #proud

I honestly don't get what your problem is. It was reasonable post and probably better argued than on other threads on a similar topic whilst your response offered as much as Jonno Forte does on match days. I think the thing about pace is a good one. Liverpool broke away with just two players and gave us loads of trouble. A couple of times we broke with 4 or 5 well up the pitch but for some reason we stopped on the half way line and played it back. Don't think I saw j rod doing one of his mazy runs once.
