I thought Obafemi, Tella, Smallbone and Watts have all looked decent when called upon. The test is more about consistency these days. Valery, Sims, Vokins, Slatterly and Hesketh will all make it with EPL or Championship clubs (as Targett and Reed have). But with us they are on borrowed time because having impressed initially, they still need to push on.

Really depends where his head is.
-
Danny Ings?
-
Which, incidentally, was why we got him in on loan...
-
Haha. No coincidence. All it shows to me is that a lazy reporter is happy to copy and paste any made up rumour on a forum. Incidentally Ralph has said in the post match conference last night he is 100% confident Danny won't leave in the summer. That's not made up, not copied from a forum; that's our manager speaking.

You know we’re only half way through the season?
-
I don't think they've done anything different to other clubs (I think I read somewhere there are some holding on to money longer than Saints). Apart from that I think you'll find we bought our season tickets using free will. No one forced us.
-
Pretty sure I've read that view before. No wait - that was Vesty... ...or was it JWP... ...or was it Romeu...
-
if we had bought Welbeck, Walcott would have gone elsewhere. No contest for me.
-
We can’t win every week but you can get better each week and that is what we were doing. Feel sorry for Walcott as he would have easily been MOTM if it wasn’t for Vesty who was outstanding. I was also impressed with crowd (other than the odd moron with mask around the neck..) who were very patient and now seem to understand why we pass back occasionally to keep possession and then look for a way to unlock the defence

BBC showing a good sense of humour. For those not able to access Prime, the beeb are showing ‘Wreck It Ralph’ at he same time. Got to be a good omen 😇

Yeah - 10 days is a hell of a goal drought

Can't say I'm unhappy about this news. Stability has been a key factor to our success. Really don't want to see any risk introduced with a new owner who wants to make his or her 'mark' on the club. Say what you like about Gao - he does let the club run without interference.
-
That was this month. Last month it was Vesterguard. Before that it was Hoedt. Fickle? Yes. Thick? You've just lost the crowd...
-
We also have Long, Obafemi, N'lundulu, Redders and Tella giving us options around the top half of the pitch. They will all be itching to get a chance to prove themselves.

Saints only Premier League club not to sign up to FA diversity code
Mowgli replied to saintwbu's topic in The Saints
I doubt he has even read the FA's new diversity code. Whilst I applaud the 'black lives matter' campaign he needs to realise that diversity covers that and so much more. Anyone who hasn't seen the 2020 Diversity and Equality report from the club can find it here - https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2020-10-26/southampton-football-club-equality-and-diversity-report-2020. -
I think a few of you need to read the article in more detail. It is not about LD Sport being a dodgy company, Two Premier League clubs with Chinese sponsors are affected and one Championship club. It is entirely political / economic. The club are already looking at ways to support fans who have already purchased shirts. Ownership is unaffected.
-
We might if we've decided to offload Valery...
-
Yeah, same here. I thought I read somewhere that they were sending the codes out on the day but like you I seem to have missed the boat! Annoying but I’m sure there will be a stream somewhere

Given the recent poll that ended up with this allegedly being the fans favourite shirt I would say this is probably the design. But the ‘bra’ look is as fundamental to UA design as three stripes is to Adidas so that will be part of it. Unlike others, I’ve never had any problem with UA quality. Apart from the stick on sponsor logo - the quality is good.
-
To be fair, he did it to himself by bein openly critical of the club. You really can’t expect to be welcome after som of the things he said. All history now and good to have a positive Mac back on board. I’m assuming theses aren’t ‘paid’ roles.

Good call on Terry Paine though I still think one statue is enough. Had he stayed, he could have been even bigger than Ted Bates. Remind me again, who was it who unceremoniously forced hi out of the club prematurely?

Strange one this. Obviously one of the best managers ever at the club but highly critical at times we could have used his support. I know, RL had a lot to do with that so I'll cut him some slack. He's a decent guy and done a lot for the local community. I just don't want to see SMS surrounded by statues. Every club should have one and only one.

Sacking the manager would be pointless. Who on earth would want to come to a club where the fans call for a change after 7 games in the season. Fans who consistently get out sung by visiting supporters. Fans that leave the ground after 70minutes (even when there’s only one goal in it) and in then in increasing numbers so that the stadium is less than 50% capacity at the final whistle.
