  1. Of course. I stand corrected :-/
  2. Really? Thought he returned to training 2 weeks ago. Appeared ok on training gallery.
  3. This. Some people spend far too much time on their Xbox. Pelle has been outstanding recently. As has Long. I think the problem with Saints (for other teams that is) is that we have 2 or 3 players who need to be heavily marked. As you are only allowed to field 11 players at any one time that works to free our midfield to score freely.
  4. Still not. One was a cup game
  5. We're fine. Davis is still a a good back up. Gazza and Cropper both doing well (any news on Croppers injury BTW). And Britt looked pretty good last night!

    The Board

Lol. I thought at first that was a response to the alpine post
  7. When the stadium was built it was stated (I believe following some consultation with fans) that the Northam would be reserved for away fans which is why you have the control room there. The Chapel was defined as our singing end. We bought season tickets there on that basis but by the time the first game kicked off most of the kop choir had relocated to the Northam to wind up the away fans. As Harvey says, the only solution really us to expand the Northam.
  8. From a neutrals point of view I thought that was a decent cup tie that we were lucky to take to a replay. Bit like the 3rd round game against Villa in 76. We will have learnt a lot from today (hopefully)
  9. Says that man who wrote off Mane last month #keepitup
  10. Not sure if you are serious but I would like to point that we are half way through the season and this is the very first time lallana has even come close to justifying his fee. Tadic has been a real handful right up to December. Admittedly he has suffered with fatigue in December and long term may not be as good as lallana but based on the first 19 games tadic wins hands down
  11. Yet you offerd McCarthy at right back.
  12. Who says Cork being messed about. Never seen it anywhere other than this forum. What with Targett signing?? Or do you mean Long and Forster? Clyne Cork and JRod on the way to join Bertrand and JWP. And that's before we look at the other U21s coming through - Isgrove, Reed, MacCarthy, and about 10 others.
  13. Damn. Had my hopes up until I read that
  14. A lot less than we got for lambert, lallana and Lovren.
  15. I was just about to say there is some under stable annoyance and frustration at the result and some pretty balanced views. Then I read this. Can you imagine the fury had we played youngsters and reserves (whatever they may be....). Football is like life. It's not about the result. It's all about how you react to that result. Bring on Saturday.
  16. Fair summary. He'll earn his money turning this around for Saturday. Pelle and tactic should return a bit fresher. Hopefully Harry reed will get a chance too.
  17. Nigel did a brilliant job here equalling the achievement of Ted Bates - at least statistically. The players loved playing for him and he is a real gent - ironically the only thing that prevents him being truly successful. For me his understanding of the game exceeds several existing premier league managers so would not be surprised to see him at a QPR, Leicester or Burnley type club.

    Yoshida

I must admit I am curious as to why Gardos does not feature more. I don't think our opinions of Yoshida are too far apart. He's not CL standard which is where we want to be but wer're not there yet and he is better 'cover' in that position than I've seen for many years.

    Yoshida

You're not called an SOG for nothing are you! Yoshida has looked good all season when called upon.
  20. Shots to save ratio best in premier league. Better than Boruc against championship opposition. I like Boruc and was sorry you see him go but some people need to move on and put something weighty across their knee following any defeat.
  21. He's only 22. The coaches obviously see something in training. Never really gets more than a cameo so whilst I'm not that impressed it's premature to write him off. Lambert has looked no better in the first 6 or 7 games for Liverpool.
  22. It's pretty close to sell out but singles are harder to get rid of. Was the same at the Dell and would be the same even if capacity was 50k.
  23. To be fair, so did a few Saints fans
  24. Jose Fonte baby. If ever a man deserved a place on the banner it is him. Like Rickie he has been with us since the dark days, pushed on to the next level each time the club was promoted and was eventually rewarded with an international call up. Unlike others, he resisted the temptation to desert what some saw as a sinking ship (even though there were undoubtedly godd offers being made to him) and showed great intelligence in assessing prospects here in a period of radical change. He epitomises the fighting spirit in the club, the tenacity, the loyalty, the 'no short cuts' approach and continues to give 100% every game.
  25. Hardly fair. We've conceded 6 goals in the league this season and no howlers unless you count the goal Villa scored. I honestly think if Fraser had not hesitated he would have blocked that and many would being saying how brilliant it was. One poor decision in half a season aint too bad. Personally I don't like seeing keepers taking that sort of risk. Looking at the positive on that move (!) I was impressed how in control Toby was. He had the striker covered but quickly stepped aside when he saw Fiorster was committed. Then when he realised the danger he got back to cover the line and was only inches from a world class clearance. We have to hang on to that guy if we can!
