  1. That did make me laugh
  2. He's on our list!
  3. Agreed. But that wasn't the point I was making. I was talking about the England manager alluding that a transfer to a big four club will enhance their England chances. Annoying though it was, I had no problems with Gerard talking to Lallana and lambert. But the manager should pick on ability not what club they play for. Not sure I was comfortable with the Fonte issue either but I accept that is difficult to stamp out. Stand by what I said of Ron and senior officials at club.
  4. To be fair, when Ron has confirmed interest in a player we were already pretty advanced with negotiations. I have no doubt that we have been talking to Jordy's club for many months before Morgan left.
  5. Down - Watford, Norwich and Sunderland (would be nice if it was Liverpool Spurs and West Ham though.... ) Up - Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday and Burnley
  6. Was Though he talks about one or two players who left last year so that can only be Liverpool. Good article though and yes, someone needs to out the tapping up that goes on at the England camp. It's almost as though Woy is on commission!
  7. These so called local news programmes are far more interested in what's happening in Kent, Warwickshire and in some far flung holiday place where the mum of some boy who fell off a scooter had a grandfather who came from somewhere round here. Of course if someone could take a picture of a cloud that looks like Clasie then we'll get a prime spot on the weather section. Great to see the national press crediting saints with another coup though. Clasie is rated by many as the bargain of the transfer window so far
  8. One of the most depressing stories in football has to be the decline of Wayne Bridge after he left Saints. Culminating in the comment he allegedly made to a fan when frozen out at Man City and linked with a return to Saunts. 'Would love to... Can't afford it mate...'
  9. Seriously. Let it go.

    Will Wood

Well that would screw up their prediction of one to watch in the premier league.....
  11. Laughable. They picked Toby off Athletico not us. It was, it turned out, Toby's preference and nothing to do with hijacking. As far as the other departures are concerned I doubt many would see the high transfer fees as evidence of us being easy pickings. Quite the reverse.
  12. Has anyone from the club confirmed the bid? Forgive for being cynical but this is the daily mail ffs.
  13. Should have read Erwin has been quoted
  14. I don't think so. Erring as been quoted as advising him to stay where he is for now
  15. The rest of us have moved on from last summer.
  16. Starting to wonder whether this transfer is actually in Morgan's interest. Man U is his second choice and he is arsenal's second choice. Surely better to stay where you are happy and appreciated?

    Toby

Quite possibly. It is a relatively common phenomenon amongst young boys and girls and is usually associated with trauma, fear or simply the stress of growing up. For grown adults, the situation is probably more complex.....
  18. That would be nice but I don't think it will happen. People sometimes forget we have 3 good centre forwards (JRod, Pelle and Long) with two who can also play out wide or behind / alongside Pelle. Mane can play up front in a 442 as well. Centre backs I might agree with you on except we're led to believe at least 3 academy CBs are going to be brought into the fold this season so a new purchase in addition to Toby, Fonte and Yoshida would hamper their progress. Personally I agree with you about Gazza but RK used the last couple of games to see if he was good enough and the answer was yes.
  19. Toby would pretty much nail it as he offers cover at right back too. Classie to replace any departing midfielder and I think we are done for this year.
  20. Don't you just love the way the usual suspects work themselves up into a lather over nothing.

    Osvaldo, Ramirez

I meant 'penny has dropped' !
  22. Mowgli

    Osvaldo, Ramirez

It seemed to me that Gaston was the first player to walk through the door this morning. Maybe the penny Chad dropped and he is ready to buckle down to some hard graft on the training ground and really fight to get back in the fold.
  23. Yep - those on international duty these last few weeks get some extra time to recover / negotiate with other clubs.
  24. T Easy and accurate. Richardc expresses a good opinion which he's quite entitled to do. He's not alone in seeing Tadic as an upgrade on Lallana and based purely on the performance of Lovren lambert and shaw last season, I was personally very happy to see Toby, Bertrand and Pelle in a saints shirt.

    IMbula ?

Haven't commented on the France situation because I don't really follow the national team - I guess he fits their style of play better - but to be fair he's only broken into the side in the last 12 months. #IMO
