Saints have tried to hire Steve Cooper twice before, so I do wonder if we might still have some interest to revisit there. Let's face it, his career is also at a point where if (when...) we go down, he wouldn't be in a position to bail out and leave us high and dry. He'd need to stay and bring us back up to get his stock rising again

If anyone is the appropriate combination of local, crazy and at a loose end… Spare ticket today. Can meet at ground, no money wanted - friend in Wales can’t make it

Hasn't been seen since the Leicester debacle when RM was showing his frustration about 'someone not doing their job' when we conceded from the corner at the death - so I assume that was CT he was on about.

Why does the Saints manager need to be able to organise trains?

Polish FA saying he’ll be out for a month or so, knee ligament issues

Ramsdale has broken a finger (we don't know which one, nor how long it sidelines him for) and doesn't seem to have a track record of it from my basic knowledge, the other guy had broken a wrist twice, in two separate seasons. And has an injury record as long as a weekly shopping list. I'm not sure the risk is comparable

Oh well, not going to make much difference really. Hope his op goes smoothly

Got to sack Russell Martin. You cannot justify entering the third international break of the season with only four points out of a total of 33 available. Been so many collapses and games where we've not been in the fight. No shots on target today against the team in 20th place, with 1 win in 20 games and a toxic home atmosphere. They were there for the taking if we got our heads out of our arses and were able to find a way to penetrate in the final third rather than just shuffling the ball about No manager is keeping this group up IMO, I've been quite adamant about that ever since the window shut, but I'd like to think there's some who'd be less feeble than we are at present. This is shaping up to be a very meek and naive relegation as it stands. So often we're just not in games or just aimlessly drifting through them. 70% possession but no shots is not 'brave' either. RM has been very clear that he will not change himself, so it's on the board to make the change There's an international break coming now and then some games straight after with little to no expectation, so make the change and don't waste any more games on this nonsense. He's had Brentford, Bournemouth, Everton, Ipswich, Leicester, Wolves and come out of it with four points. That shouldn't be enough to keep anyone happy

Ten Hag sacked this morning

FT: Manchester City 1-0 Southampton

Correction: Think that'll be served against Stoke in midweek, actually

Yeah, apart from scoring four goals and hitting the woodwork three times in his first 10 appearances in an absolute dogshite side, you mean

Unlucky Cam. Decent effort with his weak foot

Russell Martin booked. Means he gets a touchline ban for the game against Everton...

About a 2min delay but very good quality: https://v3.bestsolaris.com/soccerstreams1/manchester-city-vs-southampton/

Would definitely be interesting to see him in a duo. I feel a bit for BBD because he's not had minutes where he's actually been put anywhere near the box and he knows Archer's game. It's no coincidence we've actually had chances (whether scoring or missing them is another thing) when Archer has been running and pulling defenders about

To be fair, he gets in the right places a lot and he's quick at getting there. Has really decent movement and is an instinctive finisher who doesn't usually want too many touches and doesn't want to pass everything into the net. Even in the Ipswich and United games, although he wasn't converting and was hitting the woodwork/whatever else, he was finding the right spots and making himself available If he gets a second relegation on his CV and another sub-10 goal season, which he most likely will do, I don't see him getting a move and can easily see him having a big, big goalscoring season with us next year. Should be a talent if we can tie him down for a few years and let him find his feet down here, still only 22

Maybe over simplistic and an easy projection to make, but I’m pretty confident that there aren’t two players sat unmarked on the edge of the D if Lallana is on the pitch for the corner at the death.

Like he’d put his reputation on the line for a guaranteed relegation. He’s not thick
