Yes that’s exactly it, I think literally everything at the club is being well-run 👍🏻 We’ve lost four games and after hysterically moaning on for days on end across various threads, you’re now turning your pitchfork on a recruitment guy who has been at the club for just under 12 weeks Not entirely sure if you were expecting him to single-handedly turn us into a talent factory in such a short amount of time, but it’s been obvious since the beginning of forever that the person who leads the scouting network is not solely responsible for transfers at any club, let alone when they’re at a club they joined midway through a summer where plans were already in place and large-scale turnover was in the pipeline And if you did believe that he was solely responsible for the recruitment, then I don’t understand why signing UK players would be an immediate negative, nor do I understand why we’d be casting final judgements on players who have not even been around long enough to make 10 appearances for the club. In fact, many of them are yet to play five games for Saints Recruitment personnel are and should be judged across windows and seasons, not days and weeks But if it helps you feel better, you’re of course more than welcome to keep finding things to piss your pants about on a daily basis

People really are desperate to whine about literally everything right now

Full answer from Martin on Alcaraz: I see the players every day. Charly is young, he doesn't speak the language much, if at all. We're asking him to play in a style with a lot of structure. He knows there's things he has to do better. I said it to Gilly, I knew that I would get criticised for not bringing him on, but it's about who you can trust at this moment in time. You're either all in with the team or you're not. At the minute, Charly needs to come over to that side really. It's been a difficult time for him. He's lost Willy, he's lost Lyanco - those were his two best mates in the group. He's a young man, he's miles away from his home. He's had some difficult news about his dad too. All of that is going on, but people don't see it or understand it. At some point, he will be on the pitch for us and he will be fantastic but now is not the right time for him, while this team is struggling.

I’ll take that over being ludicrously unlucky to be 1-0 down. Or lucky to only be 1-0 down

RM has just said in his presser that Kamaldeen's red card has been successfully appealed, he can play in this one
-
Martin's press conf: - Bednarek 'touch and go' but trained today - Harwood-Bellis only trained with group a few days but ready if needed - Sulemana will be in the matchday squad

This is going to be a very long and tedious season if people continue to constantly overreact to everything, good or bad, and ‘pick a side’ as if it’s all a case of black or white, rather than there being shades of grey. 🥱

Expecting it to be Bazunu; Walker-Peters, Holgate, Bednarek, Manning; S Armstrong, Downes; Fraser, A Armstrong, Edozie; Adams

There is/has been a lot of this going on, I think. Reality check.
-
To be fair, based on his media comments, I don’t think RM has any interest in having players in his dressing room who aren’t 100% bought in and invested in what’s going on.

Tony Mowbray mentioned third week of September in his press conference a few weeks back, I think. No idea if the timeline has changed since but he suggested he’d be available for selection before the end of September.

Probably not. More likely Wolves are in a bind with FFP (given their chairman's public comments) and have said 'what if he signs an extension until 2025 with you so you don't lose him on a free next year, and if we stay up, we'll give you the asking price. If we go down, you can still sell him elsewhere' This theory also works on the basis that Ché has basically told us he's not interested in hanging about and playing any more games in the Championship.

Ties in with Garrett's info on the French core causing issues and equally, basically all wanting to leave.

1yr extension before he goes and a compulsory purchase based on Wolves staying up? If he doesn’t then we cash in on him next summer instead? It’s the only way I can make a loan make some sense.

In which case, try and get a chain going so that everyone gets a player they want. Tell Everton they can have Sulemana if they let Cannon go to Sunderland and then Stewart can come to us...
-
Wonder if this is a way of us getting Everton to bridge to our valuation on Sulemana?

Medicals are always slightly different too. Some will focus more on different areas of interest than others. I think too many people view them as a literal test where you pass or you fail. The reality is that the doctors assess and score them across a bunch of criteria, write extensive notes and then categorise the player onto a scale based on different risk factors. Then those reports are sent onwards to the club executives etc to review and make the final decision on whether they are prepared to proceed or not, whether they wish to renegotiate elements of the deal etc. It's not that a doctor turns round and says 'he failed the medical' as such. I think we'll take the chance on Stewart too and based on what Sunderland fans and neutrals say about his ability to get over 20 goals if he's largely fit, it sounds worth a go. Especially on the basis that Ings arrived with two blown out knees and was brilliant for us. Stewart had a bad hamstring injury (not at all uncommon for footballers) and then a major achilles issue (which is what warrants a closer look at, given it's a tendon injury).

One of them will miss a couple of targets, panic and offer us £15m-£18m for him in the next day. Perhaps leaning to Wolves...
