I note that you didn't actually respond to my post with any comment about football - only a typical ad hominem from someone with no knowledge and nothing to say.
-
Whatever. KWP is shite and I'll be glad to see the back of him - if, and it's a big if, anyone comes in for him.
-
Least of Saints problems were strikers and keepers - if, Bazunu were only playing when the competent McCarthy was injured, and there is no striker problem when you have a team that is so predictable and leaden that it can't create clear chances for strikers.
-
Bree is a better player than KWP - more physical at both ends, runs well, and gets stuck in. KWP doesn't defend and just fannies about going forward.
-
Nonsense. Aside from maybe should have stopped Firmino's goal with his feet, played well and is a good shot-stopper.
-
Lyanko gives it his all, but he was dire on goals 3 and 4 all in the space of a minute and change. Covered no one on goal 3, causing Bednarek to move over to cover Salah (?) and leave Gapko...easy tap in. Goal 4 was inexplicable. As soon as Salah got the ball, the whole stadium, minus Lyanko, knew it would be played to Jota as soon as he got onside...WTF? So much brainlessness in one bloated squad.
-
Bednarek should have put his foot through it; instead, he sold McCarthy short, who then played an 'ill-advised' pass to Lavia, who, being 19 or 20, set up a perfect goal for Liverpool instead of curling it up the right touchline blind. Shitshow.

Well, ya, but you do need de-moralized players and an idiot for an opposition manager to have the opportunity to do what Brighton did against Saints.
-
A lot of shifty 'hedge-fund' egomaniacs in football ownership, with those egos getting in the way of club success.
-
Walcott is an embarrassment - like playing with nine men when he's out there. Counterattack in 17th minute 3 on 1 and he just has to neatly thread a 20-footer through to Aribo but has no awareness that the guy is there. After 20-odd years of senior football, he remains an absolute moron...who was, of fuckin' course, offside again later. Third goal was not McCarthy's fault (first goal should have been stopped by the feet), it was Aribo's, and the lazy f**kers who weren't supporting him but backing off the ball in their own box. Goal is 24-feet wide and a keeper cannot cover that whole area, particularly when screened by a maze of players who let a guy shoot from 14 yards.

Players on Saints who are, at present: Able to Contribute to a Decent PL side: McCarthy, Perraud, Bednarek, Stephens, Livramento, Lyanko, Lavia, JWP, Smallbone, Stuart Armstrong, Alcarez Possibly: Bree (runs well and has the physicality, too small a sample size) Adam Armstrong (he's never played in a squad that could pass or would feed him a ball, so his movement has been wasted) Aribo (I rate him - his style isn't crash/bang and he plays with idiots, and for idiots, so jury remains out) Marginal/Borderline: Caleta-Car (slow of foot) Salisu (not on this year's performance), Moe (did a ton of work defensively, but plays a position that demands production and doesn't produce, goals or assists), Tella (hasn't shown that he can do it at this level) Not Fit for PL: Bazunu (can't use his feet in shot-blocking - big hole in game for a keeper, and, IMNSHO, means he will likely never be good enough for this level) KWP (too slight a frame and little interest in defending, no end-product going forward), Adams (big and flat-footed, poor balance, can't shield the ball properly, is, as a poster on here noted, not alone on Saints in being unintelligent, always offside - tries hard, but was never going to be a PL player due to his physique if nothing else - RH chose him over the likes of Watkins - RH can't judge talent), Walcott (dumb as a plank, can't pass, has no poise - absolute garbage footballer) Djenepo (another RH 'find' - circus act who can't stand up properly - has improved, but so what?) Sulemana (remember, 1 goal and 1 assist in last 37 French top-flight matches - only an absolute genius like Ankersen could recruit him for a record fee - runs fast, big deal, everyone in PL runs fast, has little technical ability and is dumber than a plank - for this signing alone, Solak should cashier Ankersen and quickly) Onuachu (another one where one look at his physique tells you he is not PL material - too slow in his movements, so will always be quickly closed down and dispossessed, will never have the time needed in PL to suit his ability, and, as noted, is no great leaper, so only marginal at winning balls in the air, regardless of his height) Diallo (too stupid for PL. full stop) ABK (like Salisu, he thinks he's the finished product but is not - his play on Monday against the Forest winger, where he injured himself, was farcical, whether from arrogance or stupidity, but you'd blast a Sunday league player for taking that line against a guy he knew had speed, crap at defending in the box, and in love with the idea that he is a great passer - hint a cross-field pass to Walcott, or indeed any pass to Walcott, is a wasted pass) AMN (sometimes looks like a contributor, most times like a fool - not smart enough often enough, enigma that is a liability) Future?: Mara (talent but lacks bottle - we'll see) Edozie (too young, needs to learn when to pass, when to dribble, needs more muscle - we'll see) Larios (too small a sample size but looks to have promise) Who'd I forget? from the 30-man carousel...
-
The problem with inflated egos and rich kids with toys - hello Ankersen - is that you need to surround yourself with 'yes' men to protect that fragile ego. Men who are men threaten boys like Ankersen and, hence, would never be hired.
-
Well, you can only rate players by what you see on the pitch, which is why supporters should never buy hype from club management or local journos.
