Why would smallbone leave? He's finally found a concrete place in the team he has worked his whole life to play in. Looks like he could play a role in Martin's system, and leaving to another similar sized club could hinder that. It's not like man city are sniffing around.

Once I got over the original disappointment of Prowsey leaving, you have to think of it from his point of view. He has played here since an 8 year old. He has dedicated his entire life to serving this club. Through the highs and lows of the last few years, he has been a reliable and consistent player. Not a flashy one (apart from set prices) but does the job exceptionally well. He deserves to try and break the free kick record. He deserves the glory of playing in Europe again. He deserves the chance of representing his country. I want him to play for England again, and I want him to break the record, and I would love it to be with us, but regardless of his club he will always be saint.

JWP is the man. Offers coming in from a big prem club and the beckoning finger of European football calling and he puts everything into it. His loyalty and dedication should be admired and looked up to (cough cough Salisu).

Considering we have/are in the process of selling players, maybe SR see no need to accept an offer for JWP unless it is ridiculously good due to the incoming sales of lavia etc. If walker peters goes for 20mil along with salisu going for 15mil (or whatever it was) and if lavia goes for close to 50, it may be in our interest to keep him. several others like DCC and Lyanco should raise some money too. Personally, I would keep him regardless. His workrate and talent will be huge in this league. He really fits into the RM playing style, and is great at pinging balls forward like he showed with a ridiculous long ball across half the pitch against alkamaar.

He's a better Edozie. That clever pass he made to smallbone is something that you expect from an experienced player, not some 17 year old. Think what he could do this season if Martin plays him right!

Who cares where someone lives to support a club? I think it's great that people support smaller clubs from across the world. There was a feature on YouTube of a young guy from Chile who runs the social media account Southampton world and came to his first game. Its wonderful people are drawn to teams aside of the big 6.

I'm pretty sure if you view the article through the Google discover page (news which flashes up when you open chrome or when you swipe left on some android homepages) you don't have to pay and can just read it. That's what I've found, just read the whole interview and don't pay a bit

Surely he can't go for 25 - seems too low considering he has a good few seasons left in him and an unbelievable work rate inside of him. I really hope the club fight west ham to the last straw on a decent price - he deserves It more than any other departing players tbh.
