  1. Angus Gunn, McCarthy and Bazunu. When is the last time we've had a proper goalkeeper? It'll backfire on us again this season, McCarthy or Baz same end result.
  2. Decent effort but if the club doesn't sign a new keeper we will go down again.
  3. Archer what was that
  4. I completely agree with you. Shot-stopping is the most basic attribute of goalkeeping. If we have a player with the shot-stopping proficiency of a Sunday league player, it doesn't matter if he's like Messi when on the ball. I think the club has handled our outfield signings quite well, but it's puzzling why we can't seem to get our goalkeeping situation right, it's been like this for years. McCarthy haven't seemed right since he let those 9 goals in against Man Utd. Same could be said for Angus Gunn.
  5. McC is worse than Bazunu at everything else but shot-stopping, and that isn't saying much considering how low the bar was to begin with.
  6. For sure, it cannot be stressed enough how important the GK position is. In our relegation season, the three teams that got relegated were also the teams with the worst goalkeepers, measured by xG (most goals let in that should have been saved). These goalkeepers were Bazunu, Ward (Leicester), and Meslier (Leeds). Bazunu, in fact, broke the record for the worst xG recorded in the Premier League since they started recording this stat.
  7. The most shocking part about that penalty was that they sent it to the ref to review. Even with a strong England bias, you could at most argue for a soft and marginal penalty. I thought these weren't supposed to go to review unless it was a clear error? If this sets the standard for today's refereeing, we'd be seeing 10 penalties a game.
  8. If we were the Dutch, we'd be raging at the referee. Even with my England bias, he seemed blatantly one-sided. I laughed my arse off when Van Dijk got booked for correctly pointing out that it was a corner kick.
  9. Southgate’s murder ball will sort out the Dutch.
  10. An England vs France final would truly be a crime against football.
  11. Knowing Southgate's luck, the ref will sort us out with a soft pen if this persists.
  12. People talk about benching Ronaldo like he's not a recent Saudi Kings Cup finalist
  13. Great game as a neutral. I just wish England would play even half as entertaining as these two teams has been.
  14. The last run we had in the Euros was a joke: all games at Wembley, barely any opposition fans, and a dodgy penalty gifted in the semi-final. At some point, Southgate's luck must run out.
  15. Just to remind you the oppositions national sport is ice hockey. Ice hockey.
  16. £1.5 billion of your finest sterling pounds, led by none other than Gareth Southgate, are ready to wreak havoc on minnow Slovakia—a nation whose number one sport is ice hockey. Come on Gareth, bring it home son.
  17. Not a bad showing from Southgates' £1.4B squad.
  18. England topped Group C despite not scoring a single goal in the second half and only winning one match. They've recorded a lower xG (2,26) than any other side that has qualified for the knockout stages at the EUROs,
  19. Scotland is so dogshit it's almost unbelievable
  20. Scotlands probably the worst team at this euros, such horrible defending.
  21. I called it from the start: this game has all the hallmarks of a 9-0 thrashing. Having witnessed one too many of such drubbings, I can spot one a mile off.
  22. Angus Gunn's arms seems to be made of cheese strings.
  23. This really does smell like a 9-0 battering. Saints fans in the know!
  24. A proper goalkeeper must be the top priority. What’s worrisome about the sheer negligence at this club is that if Baz hadn’t gotten injured, we probably wouldn’t even be looking.
  25. If Baz hadn't gotten injured at the right time, we wouldn't have gained promotion, never seen a keeper let in as many soft goals as Baz. I still don't think McCarthy is good enough for the Premier League. Ramsdale would be a welcome addition.
