This might be the most catastrophic scenario I've ever encountered on this forum. 😂 Just imagine it – and the terrifying bit is we're entirely capable of making it happen. If that nightmare actually unfolded, it should warrant a lifetime ban from top-tier football.

Exactly. Getting beaten 9-0 once might happen to any club, especially with the widening PL-Championship gap. But twice in a short span? That's our unique "achievement" that'll likely stand forever alongside beating Derby's dismal record, if it gets to that. I'm amazed how our fanbase just shrugs it off these days. I can imagine many other fanbases would have pitchforks at the ready, prepared to burn St Mary's to the ground were it them. Have we become so numb to footballing catastrophe that we now greet historic thrashings and other dismal records with a cup of tea and a resigned "typical Saints"?
