They both played pretty well in their early games for us and have gotten worse, I suspect due to the coaching. I suspect a lot of our players are fed up with the silly tactics and substitutions that are fucking us up.

Preston are very average away from home, and in fact as they are at home, very inconsistent and unpredictable. They can play a bit and can battle, which we don't like. We could do with some physical presence in midfield for this one, but as discussed many times, RM is unlikely to go with Shea. Of course it goes without saying this is a must win and it would be interesting to see how much the pressure would change the top 3 if we do win this one and get even closer with still a game in hand. Frustrating as we will probably go and win this and it will make no difference to the final season outcome as we are nailed on playoffs.

I think i am right in saying, if we win our two game sin hand we will still be 4 points behind second place, yes? So 5 as we have a far worse GD. That would mean we have to get 5 points more than second place, in the last 4 games, so 1.25 points per game more. Not going to happen even if we win all 6 i suspect.

Here is the problem. RM plays a very specific style. So, it takes players time to get used to it and into the swing of it. So, in the summer when we have another large rebuild after losing many of our best players, we will again have an indifferent start to the season as players get used to the tactics in real life matches. In conclusion this will not work. If we do not win the play offs we need to get show of RM and get a new manager and start a new normal style of play that will work with second tier players.

Or Leeds, though the way Leicester are going, we may well beat them. Happy to finish 4th and play WBA in 5th. We won't win the play offs anyway, but it might be a bit of a learning curve for next season. Problem is, to be in contention next season we need to ditch this style of play and get a new manager.

Pre-season prediction, I said we'd finish 9th. We have done much better than I thought. But I also said we will NOT go up under RM. We won't. We are where we are to some degree in spite of him and because the teams from around 10th down are poor. This style of football will not work in this league with players of this level.

As ever, a must win game that is impossible to call until we see the starting line up. Boro are not really in the hunt now IMO, as they need to make up 7 points in the last 8 games. Unlikely i would say, but they will probably still believe enough to give it a really good go. What we need is a big comfortable win. Something like a 3-0 where we are never really troubled, in control and solid at the back. Hopefully we will have our best back 4 back, along with the best midfield combo. Thereafter it all takes care of itself, even if Fraser is not back.

Agreed. On top of this, you will see people say things on this thread like, the whole medical profession disagrees with MLT or vice versa, but in truth many many Doctors and experts came out and said this was all BS. Unfortunately, most people refuse to believe in any other possibility than what they are told Via papers, TV and radio etc. People are so myopic now, not just with things like Covid but also politics and other subjects, they can only see what they have been taught told and programmed to see. For many a month i tried to show people some other angles with very strong evidence and got no debate, no discussion, no opinion, just name calling and silliness.
