  1. Feeling a lot more positive on the rumoured incomings and outgoings. We seem to have done some really shrewd business in this window that gives us a good platform for promotion and the flex to continue the rebuild if we fail this season. Loan deals at this point seem like a win-win in both directions especially if they come with an option. Excited to see things develop over the next couple of days.
  2. I think the 'motivated' part is the biggest issue here with Kamaldeen.
  3. I'm talking in comparisson to the Eredivisie not the Premier League or Bundeliga, Ligue 1 etc. The dutch league falls quite short of those other leagues.
  4. I don't know that the championship is as big a drop as you'd think. The Championship generates more revenue than the Eredivisie and given we're promotion contenders who are probably more than capable of improving terms on what AZ have him on I'd say it's not outside the realms of possibility. He does look like a great replacement for Che in terms of a similar profile of player.
  5. Seems like Drameh would be the player on the shortlist for KWP's spot
  6. I hate to break the news but the fact of the matter is we are now a championship team. The majority of players that have left are not championship players they are higher level players, we were never going to be able to keep most of them. In a footballing utopia it wouldn't be an issue we would just say no to offers and move on but the fact is these are real humans with their own wants and needs and it only takes a few agitated players to ruin the group. The one thing I trust is that the management team at the club know about these players and their ambitions more than we ever will. So you have to roll with the punches, and make the most of the situation that's put in front of you. Russ has said more than once he won't worry about the things outside of his control. If a player leaves they leave. What he and Wilcox can control is replacing that player and we can't judge that work until the window is closed.
  7. Pleased for Tella, he's put in the hard work and got his move based on is efforts last season. I'm still feeling pretty relaxed, Pretty much everyone who's gone was to be expected, I expect we will see possibly Kamaldeen, Tall Paul, Lyanco and ABK gone before the end of the window ,aybe Che unless he renews. The loan options make a ton of sense right now whilst we steady the ship, we don't want to be lumbered with these guys but they will be hungry to show thier worth and it gives us room to manouver for longer-term targets. Fraser coming in is a good example of just how fast things can move, none of us had a clue he was coming in until earlier today and it's already a done deal. I really think we're only going to be able to judge this window by the time it closes at the earliest... and probably much later on depending on performances.
  8. With the Everton move looking likely to be falling through, you've got to think a renewed effort to find terms with Adams might be the play now. Perhaps with a break clause if we fail to get promotion?
  9. Reportedly we've rejected an offer for Aribo from Verona, with two unnamed Ligue 1 clubs also tracking him.
  10. I think this model is also a lot more effective now that we have Russ and Jason Wilcox in place. They know the type of players they are recruiting and whilst they know that we will end up moving a lot of them on, potential players will be attracted to the prospect of playing 'good' football and putting themselves in the shop window. It's the most sustainable way for a club like ours to move forward without a super ruch Saudi owner. In other words I'd get used to it 😂
  11. Looks like Johan Hove is nailed on. Got him for a bargain price due to a release clause according to reports as Groningen were relegated last season. Seems like a decent squad signing to add some depth to midfield with good upwards potential.
  12. Che might not be 'pushing' for a move but he's certainly been manouvering for one by deciding not to re-sign. Tella I agree but we've already rejected a sizable opening bid for him so I think if he does go a replacement will already be factored in. Next 10 days or so should be very exciting.

    Flynn Downes

Now if we can just pull off promotion there's a case for him to join permanently.
  14. This is why we as fans don't make the transfer decisions 💀😂 Still remember his goal against Reading mind!
  15. This Unuzni lad we've been linked with looks like a baller, crazy work ethic in some of his clips tracking back. Could be the option should Tella go?
  16. Verbal agreement from Tella? looks like he might be on his way. Thank god we've got Sam Amo waiting in the wings. (No pun intended!)
  17. The lad was all over the park and man of the match...
  18. I thought we showed a bit of grit that's been missing for 3-4 seasons. We were the better team today. Some poor defensive errors still but deserved the points. Arma's been a revelation this season, workrate is incredible.

Russ has mentioned him by name twice now, including this morning. Man's professional enough to not do that unless he knows it's concrete.
  20. Russ seemed really relaxed when asked about incomings during the Plymouth presser. Said there are 1 or 2 that will be in very soon (We know one of them is Downes obviously) and that there is a lot more that they are working on. I think there's a lot more going on that we aren't privvy to as seemed to be the case with Charles and Manning being completed quite quickly after any sniff about them got leaked and I think we can only really judge the window when it's closed.
  21. I don't think anyone with a read on Rasmus and the philosophy he brings thought we would stop being a selling club. Look at Brighton or Brentford, that's the financial model we're chasing. Being a selling club works to the club's advantage if managed well. As far as financial stability is concerned from the CEO it's refreshing to hear that transparently from him given the last time we didn't give focus to the club's financial management we ended up in league one. At the end of the day, as long as Wilcox continues to recruit in line with his proven track record we will continue to buy young talent, develop them with us and sell high. As long as the production line doesn't stop it's sustainable. The vision is clearer then it's been in years in my opinion, that doesn't mean you have to agree with it mind.

The thing that pleases me the most in this latest press conference is that he had a plan for every player and had honest conversations with everyone about their roles between now and the end of the season. With a squad of 30 players this would have been really important in setting expectations and managing those personalities. It does look like we might not see much of Sam Edozie, Aribo etc. as they were in the B team and likely out of the squad for a bit but it does mean he has a good idea of his best 11/Matchday squad. This has been the most inconsistent aspect of the season to me, with constant changes to personnel and shape so let’s hope he knows this squad better than us and gets them playing the way he wants! I thought our season was dead and buried after Wolves. Now I’ve got SOME hope no matter how small… 😅
