  1. This post wins the thread.
  2. To be fair, if I were them I'd be protecting my investment. Not popular, but money ain't free, and add in relegation and we're probably looking at circa £200m shortfall with last year's shit transfers. Add to that FFP, and it'd be interesting to see if we CAN'T spend right now as would lead to future problems that we won't be able to deal with.
  3. Oh well, if a team like Leverkusen come knocking we're not keeping him, however hard you try.
  4. But what circumstances have changed? Nowt. If we keep 3 of those players then we should be fine. Embarrassing pal.
  5. Unfortunately, you've backed yourself into a corner, and are trying to weasel your way out of what you've said previously, and changing the goalposts. It's fine to say "Do you know what, I was wrong when I said that", or that you've "re-evaluate" what you said. You'd garner far more respect than the rather embarrassing backwards shuffle you seem to be doing now 🤣
  6. And certainly Amo-Ameyew. Edozie is nearly 4 years younger, and SAA 7(!) years younger. So if we sell Tella (which if Leverkusen are in for they are a much more attractive proposition for him), we will have Edozie, Sulemana, SAA, Fraser, maybe Adam Armstrong to play in those wide positions. Honestly, I'd take that. I think we just need to wait and see, there is a clear deadline from when we can judge the squad we have for the rest of the season. I realise that being reactionary and premature when judging the team probably mirrors your life, but just calm it down everyone.
  7. And yet its also been reported that we never bid for him, so which is it? I'm assuming it's the one that fits your agenda.
  8. Why is everyone ignoring Fabrice29's post from yesterday? Russell Martin compared Piroe to AA, and how they had the same qualities. Why would we sign someone with the same qualities as a player we already have? From what I can tell we were never in for Piroe since it was clear AA was staying. It's not a missed target if we never wanted him.
  9. Do you genuinely believe that they are not doing this completely tongue-in-cheek? I don't imagine they're PMing each other wanking off about the fact that some people just may be believing their brand of bollocks. Just take it as what it is, it's genuinely funny, as they're taking the tropes of the transfer window and adding a satirical take to it.
  10. Genuinely, if we wanted him, there was room in the squad, Swansea were willing to accept our offer, and he wanted to come to us, he'd be here. I would say one of those 4 things isn't true, and so it's not happening at the moment. It may mean we miss out on him, but them's the breaks. How good actually is he as well? When in the Prem I'd never heard of him, and Prem teams are clearly not interested even at that low price. Only had 17 goals last season from open play in 43 games (same amount as Tella) and 21 in 45 the year before. I've seen a lot of talk of a 30 goal per season striker - Piroe is not that in my opinion, but I may be wrong. At the moment, from the sales and purchases over the Summer so far, I'm happy to give Wilcox et al the benefit of the doubt that they know what they are doing.
  11. No, only RB, he doesn't have much Diversity and can only really move in One Direction.
  12. Are you joking? He's betting on himself by doing the Bundesliga jump - one good season and he ends up at Bayern or Borussia - huge wages and Champions League football. Much better than Burnley and then a move to Everton/West Ham.
  13. Look, Che. I rate him, but mainly because of his hold-up play and his ability to pick a pass. However, I think people may be overstating his contribution this season. Yes, he has scored some vital goals, but both the Wednesday goal and Plymouth goal I could have got into position and scored. Norwich was half decent finish, but if you don't think we can replace that with another striker for £15m than our scouting department are fucking rubbish. There is also the fact that if he scored 25 goals this season, and we got promotion, then he would be our main striker next season, no doubt. So we'll offer him a bumper contract, and then we'll be stuck with him. Do we want to go through all that again? The bitching and moaning that he's missing easy chances? I can't really do it again. For me, sell him, chuck Villa £20m for Archer and be done with it.
  14. I've watched him in depth for the last 6 seasons, and I see a player that is great on the shoulder of the last defender, with a very decent finish and a thirst to score and win. Insane signing.
  15. Spain leading the tournament in possession and passes. But as we all keep getting told, that's not the way to win matches, let alone tournaments.
  16. It's an exciting game - there does seem to be a lack of any sort of marking (especially in the box, oddly), but I'm guessing with the size of the pitch allows more space. Generally very poor in the air as well. However, it is massively end to end and very exciting. I think if you class it as a slightly different game and just watch it for what it is, rather than compare it to the Men's top level game, then it's definitely worth watching.
  17. I'm happy to sell Onauchu, Bree, Sulemana, Mccarthy, ABK. I don't think stopping the sales is the thing. I think it's just don't sell Tella or Adams.
  18. Well yeah, as I wasn't talking about the Masters either.
  19. This is a joke yeah? If you were at home and your wife took the kids to crazy golf and beat them, would that mean you'd have her as your Matchplay partner in the Club Championship? No you fucking wouldn't.
  20. I get posting with pictures is fun, but whatever you do, DO NOT do it when talking about this Downes kid.
  21. So was RM talking about himself in the third person? As the quote says "he hopes so".
  22. Only got 21 seconds to complete the deal?
  23. And herein lies the problem. Not sure if you've watched us in the Prem over the last few seasons, but it was excruciating to watch. Poor football played by poor players with poor management. It was boring and led to me not watching or taking interest. I want to watch exciting football, firstly, and if that leads to promotion then fine, but for me, now, I want entertainment from Saints irrespective of what league we're in.
  24. Where's Ken Monkou????
  25. Quite impressed with RM - seems honest and a good guy. He also has a proper identity as a Manager (whether it is the correct way to play we'll have to see). I like him.
