  1. Scary stuff 😮
  2. It's quite simple, red army non stop only punctuated with bursts of OWTSGMI followed by wall of noise red army non stop. Different pockets of the away end joining in to keep things ticking along. EIEIO at full time depending on the result. Absolutely no room for any wankery in the form of library or anti Pompey songs.
  3. Fantastic stream. Thanks for sharing. Great second half. Wednesday had a go but Saints class shone through.
  4. Link to the archived webpage to get around the Times paywall: https://archive.ph/FDCbK
  5. I can relate to a lot of that Times article. I too had an abusive dad who battered my mum, drink being his excuse rather than the gambling habit RM talks about. My mum left him when I was 7 and became a single mum of two boys. I like to think I've turned out ok but it shapes you in ways that are not fully appreciated until much later in life. I don't go to therapy but just talking about these things massively helps clear out the crap. I too have a deeper sense of appreciation for the work RM is doing. His honesty and openness is refreshing in the football world. Excellent article.
  6. Sad that he has decided to continue his journey elsewhere but that's his perogative and he'll either consider it a good or bad decision in the fulness of time. Good message from him too IMO. To the point. Articulate and said all he needed to say. I hope the club make some good decisions with the cash that's been received. Nothing else really matters now.
  7. My former P.E. teacher at Applemore School in the 1980s. She took us for football and was superb, running rings around the 'so-called' players in our year. She never once revealed her past. We never knew she was a former England international. Inspirational. Another former player sadly suffering from Dementia.
  8. The word "if" did jump out at me too However, it would seem to have to be a very, very late change of heart for him not to join the Hammers now it would appear.
  9. Some fresh quotes from RM, at this afternoons presser: “It’s a difficult one for Prowsey as well, I think," Martin said. “Having only worked with him for six weeks, I’ve been immensely impressed with him as a person and a character – as a player goes without saying. “We had a really good chat on Wednesday, he’s really emotional about leaving this club and it shows he cares and how difficult it will be for him if it all goes through. “I would have liked it to end in a different way than the club being in the Championship. He has obviously been torn between wanting to be here to help get the club back to the Premier League.”
  10. I didn't do this but certainly one of the oddest things I've ever seen at football was the two people refused entry at Ellend Road in maybe 2009 for donning full Nazi SS uniforms. Leather trench coats, full on insignia, the lot. Only in Leeds eh! The other oddity that sticks out from my regular match-going days in the late 80s early 90s was that mad bloke in the leather jacket who reminded me of Bon Scott from AC/DC who would appear on the Milton terrace, move straight in to the middle of the vocal mob and produce a big bunch of celery. This of course prompted the celery song and lots of pogo'ing. I was one of the Muppets loving it every home game haha!
  11. Sad to see Prowsey go as I truly considered him one of our own despite the connections to that lot down the road. As others have mentioned you can't suddenly discount his efforts over a considerable amount of time. I'm sure 99.9% of Saints supporters will remember his efforts and his dedication to the shirt. I'd rather have a team full of Prowsey's than some of the utter tripe you see pretending to give a shit. Having said that, as one chapter closes another one begins. Onwards and upwards. Wilcox, its over to you son to get the players in through the door that you've clearly had waiting in the wings. Lets see if we can mould a team fit enough to compete at this level.
  12. I get that Saints want to keep their cards close to their chest re fees received for obvious reasons, but this kind of fake news re fees irks me too. It feels like the big clubs controlling the agenda too much. Why can't the smaller clubs look good for once. Levy has this fantastic reputation as a proper bastard in the negotiating stakes. I'd like to see Saints given some praise for outstanding negotiations.
  13. Ok watched the full match now. As others have noted, definite style of play. Comfortable most of the game but Wednesday helped with that. They got a bit closer to Saints second half but you always felt their best bet was set pieces as was proven. The big thing I noticed was the passing, whilst pleasing and of course seeing Saints in control is most welcome, I feel is one of the areas we can improve as the season goes on. Man City pass with pace as well as precision. It's the speed of play that catches up with the opposition as well as the relentlessness of it all. If RM can get them moving the ball next with pace we'll be even more potent. Some of the training videos put out by the club showed some really fast play. I get that it takes time to develop that and it was only the first game. Those last 9 mins of the game were superb. As noted in commentary "that's how you see a game out". Great start.
  14. Replying to my own post as I did some more searching and found a full replay here: https://wolfstream.tv/smsyr714dpc4/SW_vs_STON_-_Full_Coverage.mp4.html I haven't watched it all yet but skipped through and it seems like its the full broadcast for those that missed it like me. I'll bookmark this site for the future too. Thanks,
  15. Firstly, great result, always positive to win away from home I reckon whatever division you're in. Secondly, I could only listen along as I was at a family thing. Does anyone know of anywhere I can watch full match replay? I'd like to watch all those lovely passes people seem divided over for myself. Thanks,
  16. If you ever want to view full articles that sit behind a paywall simply copy the url and paste it into a webpage archive site like https://archive.ph/ The article will have been archived automatically by other users and so you get to read the full piece. I use this a lot for browsing nytimes, indie and theathletic. Of course, the article won't likely be available immediately as it needs to be archived first but I never usually read articles the second they are published. I realise this isn't strictly ethical as revenues pay wages somewhere along the line but then again, I remember when the internet was free and used for good so I'm happy with my decisions. The full article related to this post is available here btw https://archive.ph/ZxsP5
  17. This shirt was presented to me in the club shop by Jimmy Case on release day! I filled in a feedback form a few weeks earlier regarding my shopping experience in the shop. A week or two later I was invited to the shop on release day. I was star struck when Jimmy turned up in the shop (my favourite player at the time). My mates were all outside queuing and jealous as hell haha. I recall Jimmy said he wasn't sure about the blue flame kit as it might contrast with the crowd too much, or words to that effect. He was very genuine and could see I was nervous to meet him. A memorable day for sure and why I too hold great affection for that particular kit.

    Potter

Max and Paddy as coaches. Ray Von on the P.A. system. Clinton Baptiste offering half time palm reading and a pint for a tenner. Dream team.
  19. Sack the lights and the band off and give Brian May a call. He can bring his famous fireplace guitar down and crank out the opening riff to One Vision. That should wake a few up for yet another massive game. Ruben Selles Red n white army non stop for the first 30 mins too. Get St Mary's rockin'
  20. If you don't manage to win the game... don't lose it. At least we had a go. I can run quicker than Walcott. Guy was running in quicksand on that through ball. It comes to us all in the end. Should have buried the header which was good movement from him and a great Peraud chip in. Unlucky. Fair result in the end.
  21. You've seen Southampton... now f%#k off home!!
  22. Hi mate, I'd be interested in hearing more about this service. Thanks in advance.
  23. I remember "almost" jumping out of my seat when he scored that worldy from the right wing at Old Trafford. Cutting in from the touchline and curling a beauty into the far top corner. I was sat in with all the Irish in the home stand right in front of it. Watched it all the way in. Of course I had to politely applaud their two goals in reply as we inevitably lost the game.
  24. Something to build on. 4pts in last two. Glass half full here.
