You guys are such super uber fans - I wish I didn't have unavoidable family commitments so I could be be super uber like you.ive only been going home and away for 35 odd years, been a season ticket holder uninterrupted since 1994 yes not so much away these days but that's just because I'm not such super uber like you. I can remember all of you at Roker Park on New Years Day in '89 on whenever it was.Just celebrate we are all Saints fans without being such massive cocks

Big Vic played every single minute in the premier league so far. Been at home today watched two cracking games, don't often get to say that normally the TV games are a bit of a disappointment.
-
Fair play- you are of course right he shouldn't be judged on that one performance. However the thought of him playing premier league football after nearly 2 years out, based on what I've seen of him, doesn't fill me with confidence. I'd have thought 8-12 games in the U23's or out on loan somewhere playing regularly, then bring him back .As we've seen with JRod trying to regain, form, fitness and confidence in the first team is very difficult.

I would think I can't believe I wasted 10 seconds of my life clicking on this thread.

Anybody that went to Sheffield United in the league cup will rightly be worried by thought of Gardos playing for us. I can't follow so many fans saying that they would rather have Yoshida than Fonte. He may be a bit of a cock, he maybe slightly slower than last season but if I was picking the team and had the choice between Fonte and Maya , Yoshida would always be on the bench.

http://www.itsroundanditswhite.co.uk/2017/01/21/claude-puel-taken-southampton-backwards-season/ I thought this was worth a share. Nothing particularly new. I think I'm in agreement, maybe a tad harsh on Puel. I voted for Puel to stay in both polls so far but I'm starting to lose a little faith.

Found it " instantly replace" is the the phrase used. So hopefully before The Arsenal match. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/15005184.Fonte_asks_to_leave_Saints/

Didn't Reed say he definitely wouldn't go unless we had a replacement lined up first?

Agree about the full backs. I think with the way Jay Rod played last night and has shown glimpses of recently, that is our strongest side, with the exception of Fonte for Yoshida ( even though Maya was outstanding last night ).You could argue Boufal for Tadic and Hojbjerg for Clasie , but I would think you would get a good consensus on last night being our best XI.Charlie is probably a better finisher than Jay but he doesn't stretch defences with his running in the same way so it would be interesting to see if everyone was fit and fresh who Claude would pick .

Id say so, it was technically a semi-final, although not of a cup competition.

Yes its how I feel too. FA Cup 1984 1986 2003 League Cup I think this is my first but I might be overlooking one from the eighties against Oldham but that may have been a quarter final., There are two Barry Horne's screamer and the one that Milford added the time on until they scored. I should really look them up, might not even been league cup !There might have been one against someone else. ZDS Pretty sure I would have gone to this but cant remember ! JPT Went to the home leg of the semi.Although I missed the final as we already had booked a family holiday to The States !

Klopp has said he's going to name " The best team we can play " on Wednesday, presumably that means a fairly strong line up. Wish they had won yesterday then he might have gone for a younger line up again.

Jeez where did I say it was clever, the only opinion I offered was that I thought it was interesting. I'll let the usual we are doomed Kat has stolen our money brigade argue to an infantile point with the other lot who think Les should be knighted for services to sport about the pros and cons of the figures.

Chelsea set to recall Nathan Ake from Bournemouth? Coming this way?

I must admit I'm apprehensive about how this will go and even if we get a decent result I'm sure they'll just role out the big guns at Anfield and get whatever result they need. However there is no way I would miss this no matter how slim our chances. It's a ****ing cup semi final !Hopefully it will be payback for 31 years ago at White Hart Lane. I'm not a fan of Puel's but we've all got to be 100% behind Saints squad and manager for this one to give ourselves the best chance of success.

How many has VVD scored this season more than everyone except Charlie? I'm a massive fan of Koeman , well was. But did enjoy this- gone from 1-0 up to 2-1 down in around 5 mins.
-
I'm not convinced about Puel's I but I think the lack of coaching time is a valid point. Not sure what point Les was making in the Poch comparison, firstly does he mean we have a load of deadwood to clear out? Secondly they've had roughly the same number of games and it doesn't appear they rotate as much as us. Also we don't play anywhere near the intensity of Spurs. So I thought it was a bit strange to highlight them.

After we've played the semi-final, Burnley,Swansea and Leicester, plus the FA Cup early rounds. We rarely buy major additions in January so I can't see the window making a huge difference either way. The squads good enough to stay up, if he was to be sacked I'd like a replacement in before the end of the season so they could make a proper assessment prior to the summer.
-
I'm not impressed but not changing my mind on the vote yet, in , but think he'll leave before the end of the season. The end of January is the time for a mid season review, I think it's too early. I don't understand the vitriol on here to those that voted out, or the continuing knocking of Koeman. Ronald did a great job in my opinion and he is the summer departure we miss most. I know we had bad games and depressing runs with him,but he game into a chaotic situation, qualified for Europe Twice and finished 7th and 6th. I think Puel's is out of his depth and the football is dull but I'm prepared to give him longer to be proved wrong. Having said that ,Puel's is the first manager we've had since the takeover that I won't be sad to see go if he left now. I was gutted when Pardew,Nigel,Poch and Ronald left.

Ralph Krueger; "The most interesting man in the world".
AK replied to Polaroid Saint's topic in The Saints
Adam Blackmore has stated "there was no organised talk or otherwise from RK to The Saints squad today" -
its hard to work out who's more annoying you or Glasgow, in fact sometimes I wonder if you are not just another one of his persona's. Talking about a player who has been linked wth Saints whilst playing in a team who Saints just played whilst being managed by a former Saints manager. Yes ,come to think of it why mention it on a Saints forum.

I highlighted the comment he made yesterday,it's from the Solent post match interview,so it can still be listened to. Funnily enough I watched The Spurs game and was thinking we'd wouldn't score a goal like their second as when they recovered the ball just inside the Watford half Spurs still had men committed forward and had options, I think that's something we miss. My view on Puel's is I haven't warmed to him ,but we need to give him the season and judge him in May.However I have a feeling he could be under huge pressure by the end of January if we go out of both cups.
