Today was absolutely soul destroying. After the hope of last week, and selles getting something out of the team, I started to allow myself to dream that we could stay up. Well.. that dream is gone. Today was as bad as it could possibly be. Inept. Horrendous. Pathetic. I feel sorry for Lavia & JWP. They battled hard, but as soon as they passed it to anyone except themselves, it was straight back at them. This is one of the worst Southampton sides I have ever seen. The 05 relegation side beats this team with ease. Most of this team are nowhere near PL standard, and have zero fight/heart. Embarrassment of a side.

Had to square paul there. Ffs

Bit better saints. Getting on the ball now and quieting their fans down.

He has an aura about him. He instantly has my respect as soon as he speaks & he seems like a man that knows exactly what he’s doing. A real breath of fresh air. If he can match his on-field performances with his press conference performances we have truly found an amazing manager... and what a story it would be if he pulls off a miracle and keeps us up.

So good to see Liverpool in the mud. Especially after their fans singing “oh when the reds go marching in”. Just like spurs the other day… get your own song

Comparing that video to NJs first club video - his David Brent impression - is like comparing a Fiat with a Ferrari
-
It’s so bloody nice to be looking forward to a game instead of dreading it. Going to be a tough game in a hostile ground but we can do them if we play like we did on Sat.
-
Ridiculous in such a massive game tbf. Would absolutely love to go. It’s a must win for me, almost as big as the Swansea game where Gabbi kept us up.

When Selles made the triple sub I said to my mate “thats proper bold, he’s gonna look like a legend if this works” And it worked an absolute charm. Those 3 came on and pressed, harried and stretched the game after a magnificent performance from Paul. The fans were right to want Jones out. We knew we could put performances like this together. Quality from selles and the whole club. Now let’s get a run going and smash Leeds
-
Dear Ruben Selles, On behalf of myself and most of the people I know. I issue you this heartfelt apology. That was a completely different team out there today. Bold subs, bold tactics, bold performance. Amazing management today

Christ alive. Wtf is that team selection?!
-
I don’t think anyone in the world would be inspired by Nathan Jones. I’d imagine even his own family blank him and sit on their phones over dinner. “Fuck me, is he still talking about Luton?”
-
Neil Warnock on taking the Huddersfield job: ”Looking at the remaining fixtures, you’d have to be a real idiot to come here til the end of the season. Luckily that’s what I am” 😂
-
Its absolutely fucking ridiculous that the board made this utter cretin their choice. I honestly still can’t get over it. It was so hilariously obvious that he was useless. Unbelievable. One of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen from a PL club. I assume the only reason Ankersen is still about is because of his ownership stake. Because if he’s an employee he should be sacked immediately.
-
Is there an internal bet at the club to see how we can do with as little experience as possible? - Tennaged keeper - Manager who’s never managed - Striker who’s never played in the PL before - Child wingers - Chop and change the defence every game so we never build any rhythm or playing experience. What could possibly go wrong?
-
Some absolute melts on here 😂 Just think of it this way. We can’t get any worse can we. It’s only going to be better under JM. Even if we keep playing as badly, we don’t have to listen to shit about welsh mining villages and other nonsense
-
Genuinely read the whole thing in his voice. Amazing 😂
-
Nothing to worry about anyway, Super Marsch is going to get us firing and keep us up.
-
The positive thing is, with Marsch, there is genuinely a chance that he is a great fit for us for the next few seasons. Couldn’t say that about NJ. Even before he was appointed it was an obvious mistake
-
As much as this appointment will look ridiculous from the outside, I agree that it does make sense in a lot of ways. He genuinely seems like a decent bloke, unlike the previous knob head which is huge. Even if we keep losing and go down, he will hopefully install some sort of team spirit again. However, I am just sad that it’s come to this. Ultimately, if you had presented me with Nathan Jones and Marsch as successors to Ralph, I would probably have gambled on keeping Ralph and giving him some new players in the Jan window. I really thought SR’s money would help atttact a higher calibre of manager. But oh well - if the rumour is true he has my full 100% support all season. Positive vibes only from here. And who knows? Could be one of those lucky appointments where we fit each other like a glove.
-
Fuck me, what metrics do our board use to scout managers?
-
Hopefully we finally get a new manager bounce. Chelsea haven’t been great for a while, so in theory we could get something. Although I wouldn’t bet on it. Chelsea 3-0 or 4-0 is more likely unfortunately.
-
I do think Marsch is a much better fit than Nathan Jones. But appointing someone that has just recently been a failure in the PL seems barmy. There must be some young, hungry tactical managers out there that can do a job. Yea we are shit & a basket case, but the PL and money is still a massive attraction. Jesse Marsch seems… unimaginative.
-
I was adamant that Ralph should go. But I think we would have at least 5 more points from those games under him. Utterly ridiculous/catastrophic appointment. Genuinely can’t think of a more suicidal decision by a premier league club than to appoint this incompetent fraud. Literally everyone could see it as well - its fucking staggering
