One of the biggest differences between championship and the PL is physicality. The PL features absolute beasts that can overpower you physically and technically. It was really obvious to most of us that smallbone would be unable to make the step up. I really like him as a guy, but anyone who thinks he should be a PL player is kidding themselves. Yet the club seemingly think him and Arma are PL players.

One game doesn’t change everything, but it’s looking increasingly like this is correct. My opinion of Martin was already rock bottom, but seeing the improvement in fitness and technical ability in so many players… truly makes me angry at how inept he was
