This genuinely has to go down as one of the dumbest signings of all time, by any club. Imagine spunking so much money on a player that was obviously never going to play. Could only be saints. Just wish we’d get an honest update for once. It’s almost like they know we will all be pissed off at the lack of striker so they don’t want to share any news

Agree, needs a loan. Needs to play every week. Very glad he’s gone out. With end product he could be great but at the moment he is a headless chicken and nowhere near PL level. Interesting window overall. Probs a 5 or 6/10. I still don’t see where our goals will come from; just hope that Cornet hits the ground running.

No shame in being a very good championship striker. Reminds me of players like Dwight Gayle, Le Fondre etc who were prolific in the EFL but just not quite up to it in the PL. He was great last season and I would love if it he steps up. But I agree; we can’t rely on him to get 5+ goals this season. Tbh I don’t know who in our squad we can rely on for that many

He can turn this around. Just needs to stop fucking about with silly formations and trusting the old players so much. Play our best players in their best positions. I respect his loyalty to the players that got us up; but unfortunately he has to drop those players. Arma/Smallbone are going to have to do it from the subs bench now imo and earn their way back in. They have looked well off it at this level (which a lot of us suspected the would.) I still think smallbone can adapt to be a good player up here but right now we can’t rely on him as a starter. Downes/Lesley/Fernandes should be given a run of games. That looks like a proper premier league midfield to me.

Agree. We always knew there’s a player there if he can sort his attitude out. Sad to say but I think Edozie needs a loan to league one or champ where he can play every week. Absolutely zero end product again. Hope we can bring in an attacking midfielder and another striker.

Exactly this!! We won’t have many winnable games this season. Forest at home was the first.. instead of being positive and going for it, building on the buzz of promotion..he decided to play the most absurd negative tactics. Forest couldn’t have had an easier game.

I just don’t see that Archer is what we need at all tbh. Seems like a weird signing. We don’t play with a style that plays through balls through to a fast poacher. We never have. We need a target man that can hold it up and bring others into play. Very evident that we have no focal point currently.

I thought it was time for him to go and wished him well.. But fuck me i thought we actually bring a striker in to replace him. I didn’t think we’d go into a premier league season this understaffed in the attacking areas. We are weaker than the championship season. Really poor from the club tbh.
