Least number of goals scored from set pieces. At the moment I believe it’s nil.
-
Nobody would surely disagree that signing players now that are materially better than what we have is a good thing. The real question is whether SR will sign those players and whether they will be hear next season given our inevitable relegation and the appalling recruitment track record.
-
kevin phillips is a really good example of the type of player we used to sign and who were established PL quality. with the exception of Ramsdale when was the last time we signed one of those when in the PL ?
-
He’s not to blame for the current shambles but you have to wonder when he will get his first point. We struggle to even have a shot on target never mind score goals Everyone now knows we are relegated and there’s nothing to play for and so how does he motivate the players.
-
The last two goals yesterday were absolutely abysmal. It’s crazy to think that we have assembled a squad so poor that we have to play the midfield and attack we turned out yesterday. Last season we needed another decent midfielder and yet this season when in the PL we didn’t sign one and now we have joe aribo and a young lad from chelsea. It was a complete mismatch but it’s difficult to blame the manager as what was the alternative ? The recruitment since SR took over has been atrocious. We have signed so many poor players.

think we will lose this one - just a gut feeling Am still confident of a second win this season but think it will need to wait until the Spring when a lot of clubs will have nothing to play for and have one eye on the beach.
-
I think we will be alright. An attack of AA, Archer and BBD whilst woeful in this league will be up there with the best in the Championship and the likes of Bree, Downes, Aribo and Wood will do a good job. If Juric sticks around he’s already shown in a couple of games that he can make us a lot more competitive and whilst we are still shit at least we are now giving sides a game whereas under Martin it was embarrassing stuff. My optimism will however quickly evaporate if I see Bazanu back between the sticks
-
If only he’d been fit today - would have been a different story That shot he had at West Brom will live long in the memory
-
Last season the three that came up went down and the same could well happen again this. That’s not good for the health of the sport and something wil need to be done to address that.. You can’t now even spend to stay up due to FFP. The last team to do that were forest. I think somehow we need to keep hold of our better players for next season and then if we do get promoted we have a fighting chance with a well established core to the team- and we have to stop signing mediocre forwards.
-
There was a stat on prime yesterday that said we have yet to score from a set piece this season and have had 90 or so corners so far. That coupled with the goals from fuck ups shows how badly coached the team has been. Unfortunately no matter how good the new guy is the forward recruitment means we are down. Thought if we could get a win at either fulham or home at w ham we could maybe get some momentum but yesterday showed it’s pretty hopeless when you just can’t score
-
First time this season we actually look like a competitive PL team
-
Think it’s too early in his tenure for a win or even a goal but I think we will show more positive intent than in the Fulham game and have 4 shots with 2 of those on target. In the continuous absence of Stewart(lets hope he’s back for pre-season), am hoping to see Armstrong up front and on his own with no one near him providing support
-
RM was a poor coach but the totally abject nature of our forward line is and has been since they arrived on SR. I can’t be bothered to look but has there been a team at this stage of the season with less shots on target than us? Signing the Sheff united strike force was inexplicable really
-
Let’s be honest he’s got a pretty ordinary record, his last job ended badly and there’s nothing to indicate he’s anything other than a stop gap appointment. If he can get us our second PL win of the season he will be a hit for me
-
He’s ticked the boxes for me. Few had heard of him, he’s out of work, his last appointment was a poor one, his average stay as coach is a year - lets gets behind him until we aren’t
-
He was apparently second choice to Nathan Jones - no disgrace in that
-
I’m expecting the new manager to be : 1. currently out of work; 2. someone we’ve never heard of; 3.has had at least one disastrous prior managerial appointment; 4. someone who has never won anything as a coach; and 5 prepared to toe the line with the current board and not seek to stamp his own identity on the club and will leave in no more than 18 months.
-
Thought the new guy had some funny ideas such as instructing the players to get the ball into the box and even though it was another defeat it felt good to see a more direct style of play. The midfield still looks very powderpuff and hopefully we can bring in an experienced DM in January to give us a bit more bite in there
-
first half was poor but second half was much better
-
It’s difficult to know what our level is at the moment as that first half was very poor guess confidence is totally shot
-
We look so poor and lightweight in midfield Five at the back clearly doesn’t help but it’s so underpowered As for the ‘attack’ it’s none existent
-
We are down so Rohl seems a good choice as he knows the club and the championship
-
The board tend to go for mediocre managers they can manipulate so they won’t go for a decent name ( even in the unlikely event one was willing to come) so we can expect someone we’ve probably never heard of and who has achieved little or nothing in their career to date but will toe the line
-
Unless the board have effectively given up trying to successfully run a football club, I can’t see how he survives that result and performance.
-
defensively we look like a pub side
