  1. You look at that line up and realise why we are doomed for gods sake bazunu has still not been dropped
  2. Hopefully no bazunu
  3. My point was more that the signings haven’t improved the squad not that those players had excellent seasons before they departed. For example surely we would be better off with Forster in goal than bazanu ? The later has some of the worst statistics in premier league history and is one of the main reasons we are going down. He doesn’t make any significant saves whereas Forster did, along with the odd gaff. Edozie has literally no end product ( no goals and no assists) but Redmond did have some end product along with some really dire games. I’m not saying they were great players but they are better than what we have now. The signings have been total shite with the odd exception.
  4. Weird that Redmond, Forster, Romeu, Tella would all likely walk into the side now. Shows how poor the recruitment has been.
  5. Here’s the thing; if edozie was an academy graduate he would have been loaned out but because we paid £12 million (!) for him we think we should persevere despite the fact he flatters to deceive. A few nice step overs but zero end product. Another poor signing and we may as well have retained tella and saved the money. The signing of him, bazanu and larios look increasingly dismal
  6. I think alcaraz has looked poor when he has played. I wonder who makes the decisions on who we sign and what evidence they base decisions on as most of our signings haven’t improved the side. We are at a point when Theo Walcott looks like the best forward we have
  7. Thought alcaraz was poor. The game seems to largely pass him by as he jogs around to no great effect
  8. Whatever combination of players we put out under three different managers the results are the same. Thought alcaraz was particularly bad
  9. No disgrace losing at home to Grimsby
  10. Comedy gold - you’ve got to laugh really its reached farcical proportions.
  11. That’s pretty damning. The Leeds game is a case in point where we looked ok defensively but still ended losing to a scuffed shot that he didn’t get down to. I agree that with a decent keeper ( I include Forster in this) we would be 4 or 5 points better off. Seems nuts that we are set up defensively to the detriment of attacking play but we continue to play a keeper who just doesn’t make enough saves. Playing him all season is just below the appointment of jones in the list of self inflicted reasons why we are going down.
  12. But we don’t create chances now so that must be how we are set up to some degree. If we were more attack minded we would likely concede more but as we are cautious we don’t but you will always concede the odd goal and it’s that which kills us
  13. In terms of mistakes that send us down I put playing him all season just below appointing jones. Forster would have had us a few points better off. This season has been straight out of the playbook of how to get relegated. At least in the past we had no money but this is largely self inflicted
  14. good summary and likewise I thought we looked ok defensively but were abject going forward and created nothing of note. Maybe we look ok defensively as we don’t push on and take a cautious approach but we seem largely incapable of scoring from open play and have done for some time. Someone will no doubt be able to confirm how many goals we have scored from open play in the last ten games. Would imagine it’s less than 5.
  15. I agree with this. Obviously Nathan jones was a disaster but the lack of cohesion particularly going forward has been a feature of our play for over 12 months and we now have a bloated squad where none of the new signings seem to have improved us. We spent a lot of time moving on one load of rubbish in hoedt, lamina etc and we will now move onto the next set of millstones
  16. Thought he should have saved it. As someone said he makes mistakes as all keepers do from time to time but there is very little to compensate for those errors as he rarely makes a great save. In a season of shite decisions the decision to play him all season ranks below the jones appointment but is still pretty instrumental in explaining where we are
  17. Went to the game and sat in the Leeds stand. I thought we looked ok defensively but that’s as much to do with Leeds offering little attacking threat. We offered literally nothing going forward and I mean nothing. Moi was largely anonymous and the front two were pretty impotent. Scary they cost £40million and we look less threatening than with AA playing. Was directly behind the player when he shot and scored and thought it was an another keeping error but I will reserve judgment until I see it on TV. Overall a dreadful game and it was really depressing how poor we were offensively. I just don’t think we were set up right and the gap between the front two and the rest was too great to generate any real cohesive play. I also don’t understand how the big guy will score at this level but let’s see how he does in the championship
  18. On the face of it appointing the manager sacked by relegation rivals seems an odd move and just adds to the general lack of coherence and strategy around the club. They have obviously decided the situation is retrievable when it’s almost certainly not so the sensible move would be to wait for the summer as if the new guy doesn’t turn around results the situation will quickly sour again. How not to run a club
  19. Gary megson ?
  20. Total joke of a season what would Keegan think to this shit show
  21. ‘Going down to ten men was to to our detriment’ what next - taking the lead was the worst thing that could have happened Jesus……
  22. Their going down to 10 men was to our detriment Jesus ….
  23. What a mess: 1 . Poor keeper; 2. Lack of Cm cover; 3. Failure to buy a striker; 4. Bringing back the CB who wasn’t good enough and then playing him instead of the players bought to replace him. 5. Appointment of jones that was obviously a mistake; 6. Light show. Masterclass in how to bring about relegation and the irony is we’ve managed to spend a load of money in the process.
  24. Jones is a poor manager and the interviews today were a car crash but the responsibility for relegation sits with the senior management team. The owner has backed us with the cash but the decisions at management level have been shite and that is what has condemned us. It’s sad really as there is a decent lower mid table team there but the decisions at management level have been atrocious .
