he shouldn’t be playing THB at RB and Manning at LB when their were better options today. we have fallen apart defensively in the last six games and we need to address this or we won’t be going up. play the best players in their best positions and we can’t ask for more than that. this is an excellent squad for this level as we will find out next season if we don’t go up !

I think there is a lot in this - he’s not great positionally and should not be in the first X1 but I think some of his shortcomings are a product of how he’s asked to play and a failure off RM to recognise he’s not cafu. Should be KWP, JB, THB and Bree
-
Last i checked RM picks the team so it’s not enough to say if one of the team scores he’s a tactical genius. i’d have had aribo on from the beginning. THB at RB was stupid as he’s our best CB and manning at LB with the tactics we play is clearly not working. the attempts to cover for downes absence didn’t work. we are now conceding more than two goals a game over the last 6 games or so. im fairly neutral on RM as all managers have dodgy spells but i increasingly think that it’s the quality of the players rather than the team that has kept us just about in the race
-
we won’t that in spite of RM not because of him.

come on saints
-
you’d don’t mention ‘brave’
-
We are now conceding two + goals per game across the last 6
-
i want a win tomorrow but if i can’t have that i want bravery on the ball
-
How can you say he is less injury prone - he hasn’t played any meaningful football for god knows how long and prior to the achilles he was injured : Scotland international Stewart was out for three months earlier in the season with a hamstring problem and after only six matches back in the side wound up having season-ending Achilles surgery.
-
I thought he was a threat and didn’t agree with his substitution. He’s not a £25million footballer but he was direct and caused problems

wish he would find another adjective instead of ‘brave’ - it’s now seems to be synonymous with losing the ball near your own 18 yard box and conceding unnecessary goals. -

would you play both at once ? that would be one way to address his shortcomings -

somebody posted a stat that before today charles had played 200 mins and we hadnt conceded - maybe it’s bollocks and can’t be bothered to check but sides don’t run through us when he plays. if downes is still out he should play from now on and why do we concede so many shit and avoidable goals -

yes we look better with charles holding and whilst he can’t pass we look more solid -
If that’s the extent of it I’d take that and have him back for the run in to the play offs. he’s such an important player and his direct approach is an antidote to all the faffing around.
-
If you look at the huddersfield, hull and milwall games he was materially responsible for the first goal in each. ok we are not playing well as a team so it’s not all down to him at all and far from it, but you’re just making things a lot harder when your keeper isn’t doing his job and as somebody said above he is a very ordinary keeper. next year if we don’t go up we may be an ordinary team in this division so he will be a good fit for us but last year and this year we need/needed something better
-
that’s a big blow - he’s one of the few direct players who doesn’t fanny about
-
great to see the thread back up and running again its been too long…..
-
that’s as maybe mate but we are losing because of a goalkeeping error
-
we are losing because of a goalkeeping error nothing to do with squad management
-
thought we were good at rotherham
-
can’t argue with that side

flat track bullies

the reason he’s out of position so often trailing behind whoever is running scott fee down the wing is possibly because he’s got no positional sense but it could also be that he ends up out a limb and looks shit because those are the positions he is told to take by the manager. he’s being asked to play like cafu whereas he’s just a skinny lad from the west of ireland. he was born in galway so i have to stick up for him

listened to this on radio humberside last night and they were loving it of course just seen the goals - the second one is a horror show and Bazanu should have done better with the parry for the first. listened to martin with blackmore after the game. accepted the first half was down to him but far too much talk of bravery and courage on the ball. it’s not WWII and this sort of talk just distracts. pick your best team and stick with that - has to be fraser every time over edozie and aribo to give us some presence in the middle of the park with downes when fit. adams has to come back in. id go with stephens at LB until Bree is back playing
