Watched the PSG game and Villa clearly struggled against their wingers and if we can play to the same level as PSG did, we will win this. Shame we don't have Edozie to rip them a new one in the same way Doue did.

We are such a shambles at the moment I would't be surprised if we offered the guy an extension if he played a few games between now and the end of the season frankly whenever he has played he's looked very average - think he had one shot but might be wrong

Gronbaek We managed to sign someone who wasn't able to get into one of the worst sides in PL history. Who on earth chooses these players

It doesn't matter who we appoint as manager in the PL as until we sign some ( a lot) decent players the story will be the same. We have a really poor squad. We don't need to spend hundreds of million but next time round (if there is a next time) we have to spend money on several proven PL players who can hit the ground running. The gap is also now so wide the promoted teams are uncompetitive - can anyone really see Burnley, Sheffield United and Leeds staying up next year ? It's been the most dull year of PL football I can remember. No title race and the relegation spots effectively confirmed months ago.

I'd be minded to look at Bazanu as manager with Edozie as his assistant. No one will buy those two so we may as well put them to use and it might be our best bet of keeping them away from the pitch. What a shambles of a season. You can blame all the managers we have had over the past few years but when you buy crap like the two above for £20 million + you are going to end up in the dumpster. I thought this season would be tough after the Forest game but it's surpassed my worst expectations and by the end I felt nothing when we went down.

These things ebb and flow and you see Forest now riding high yet were in the doldrums for years post Clough. Look at Brentford who were a lower league club for most of my time watching football. We have typically been a top flight side since I began supporting Saints in the early 80's but for a club like us that doesn't have tonnes of cash, recruitment is crucial and we haven't got that right for years now. I also feel we've not been able to bring through players from the academy in the way we did in the past and therefore it's all on the scouts. You can see sort of see what we were trying to do when we bought lavia, larios, Bazanu, edozie and charles but with a current 1 in 5 hit rate that's nowhere near good enough for a club like us. There's also a real lack of football nous//pig headedness in the club at times. The forward recruitment this year was so obviously sub-standard, the lack of an experienced top quality CM recruit since Romeu left and the refusal to spend big on a proper No 9 and instead spend the same money on several mediocre players. We are stuck in a spiral of buying substandard players, then realising they are not good enough, waiting for their contracts to expire and rinse and repeat. We won't but experienced quality players but are happy to buy inexperienced poor players. It's a ridiculous approach.

agreed - unless our recruitment improves we will continue to struggle. The sides we have put out this season have been way below PL standard, hence we have only 9 points. Confidence is shot as well so it's a pretty toxic mix. Next season we have back the likes of Edozie, Bazanu and Charles. The latter deserves a chance, but the first two are symptomatic of the poor recruitment that has got us into this position and should be sold ( if anyone is interested)

I don't disagree but we have won what 9 games in 80 or so in the PL across two seasons. This goes way deeper than Juric. He's just the latest poor sod to be the manager. The entire club is a mess and does anyone really think the next decisions made by SR will be any better ? I still can't believe the club sat down at the start of this season and thought a forward line of Archer, BBD, AA and Tall Paul was good enough to keep us up. I don't underhand Juric not playing a striker today but look what he had to choose from ? The owners have no feel for how to a run a successful PL football club and either need to appoint someone who does or sell the club All that said we have now had two seasons in a row where all the promoted clubs have gone straight back down so it's becoming very difficult even if you have competent owners. Obviously we have stank the place out but this PL season has been the most dull I can remember

Going to go with 4-0 again. We seem comfortable holding teams at that score and most teams seem apathetic after scoring 4 when playing us as they know where are shit and so what's the point in wasting energy not much of a spectacle for either set of fans really when you play saints

When you compare our squad to the likes of Everton, Palace, WHU, Fulham you realise how far off we are from being competitive in this league and I don't know how we address that with FFP. The discussions around who the manger is are fucking pointless whilst the squad is so weak. You would need to have two perfect windows to even compete and without spending a fortune and that just isn't going to happen at the moment with our set up. Why do we bother signing players like the Danish lad to then leave them on the bench ? We haven't got a clue how to pick a player who can come in and make us better, save occasionally and by luck we get it right - fernandes. Apart from him and Ramsdale who was the last signing who made us a better PL side ? Lavia ?

What has also made it such a shit season is that the writing was on the wall as early as the forest game so at no point ( save for Newcastle) did it ever feel realistic to think we would stay up. We just carried on where we left off in the PL. When you look at the likes of the also rans in the PL like Palace and West Ham their squads are light years above ours you can see it's a long way back to being competitive in this league. It's a bigger problem than Saints though given Leicester and Ipswich will also head straight back down following on from last year when Luton, Sheffield United and Burnley went down. I still keep coming back to the point that what the fuck did the owners expect when they bought BBD and Archer to spearhead our attack. If ever there was a signal to run up the white flag what was it.
