I'm guessing your mate couldn't have seen much of Le Tissier as, going by those youtube videos, the only similarities I can see with Le Tiss are that he has two arms and legs...
  2. Think its the 26th this year...?
  3. Dont get me wrong, he was a great servant for the club. I was commenting more on his poor judgement in believing in a god, and tweeting that god will decide where he goes. It was clear then (and now) that he wanted to "step up" and earn more money (for the "50 years after football")....but the Man U thing never happened and he had to settle for West ham. We can all see his departure for what it was, he wanted to play for a bigger, higher profile club and get paid accordingly......you cant blame him at all for that, but to wrap it all up in excuses loses you some credibility.
  4. I definitely did.
  5. Just after Fonte won the Euro's with Portugal, he decided he was better than Saints and tried to get the transfer to Man Utd that was being banded about the press....I'm sure I saw a tweet from him at the time saying that its god's decision for him to move on and that god will decide where he will play next (ie Man Utd) I cracked up when god decided Man Utd should step aside and allow West Ham to bid for him instead...
  6. I'm guessing you're a "lets get Gary Cahill" type fan.
  7. https://www.bundesliga.com/en/news/Bundesliga/dayot-upamecano-rb-leipzig-world-s-best-young-defender-ousmane-dembele-473962.jsp Go for Dayot Upamecano Ralph, go on.....you know you want to!
  8. Going on the Ralf + RB Leipzig link.... https://bulinews.com/news/2489/agent-bruma-is-not-happy-with-his-situation-at-rb-leipzig

  10. Why did they write Brexit implications into the game, when the effects of Brexit were (and are) unknown....? Why apply a foreign quota of 17 players in the squad and apply wage criteria when nothing has been said on this matter publicly? Ive read somewhere online that some people's games don't have Brexit mentioned at all, some have reported that the UK voted to remain. WTF
  11. The company I work for are having their AGM this week.....the Chairman of the company is over and he already owns a team in the NBA. Cant tell you the amount of times I've thought about "doing a Cortese" and bringing SFC to his attention! He even has a couple of super yachts, so we could also do the "yacht spotted in Ocean village" stuff again!
  12. If they want to have a comp amongst themselves, they could just play locally without the need for any sort of connection? Or am I missing something?
  13. I poster on here a few seasons ago that our over insistence on playing an ageing Davis, was holding up JWP progression....
  14. He's the most talked about meh player ever. FACT
  15. To think there were people on here that STILL thought HCDAJFU when he left for Rangers....
  16. I know what you mean Hypo. I guess for me the feelings are of sadness that someone who stood up for freedom, in our darkest hour, when we were all alone in the world, doesn't deserve to leave this place alone and unoticed by a society that should still be immensely grateful. I never knew that man, but I do feel a strong urge to pay my respect, which is why I'll be attending.
  17. I know this is in the wrong forum; but, quite frankly, I don't care. Please feel free to delete/move this after 9:45am tomorrow. This is Saints realted as this is one of our own... https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/17428630.soldier-george-osborne-will-be-buried-in-southampton-on-february-14/ If anyone is available tomorrow morning to attend the crematorium at 9:45 and give this Southampton hero a fitting send off, then please find the time! Thank you.

    Cortese

Only if you wanted freebies or some sort of involvement on the board. To the common fan, who just supported the club, he was a breath of fresh air, and someone who we have really missed over the last few years. His dedication to get what he wanted vis-a-vis Saints, was commendable.
  19. No, because there always has been, and always will be thousands of them.... However, you can count on one finger the amount of people that kept us in the Prem in the 90's.
  20. Also you have to remember that, as a club, we need to get back to producing X player from the academy for peanuts...and then sell them on for a nice profit. That is the business we are in, not to win trophies etc, but to make money on transfers. That being that case, the last couple of years has seen that revenue dry up, as there haven't been many decent candidates....the recent inclusions of youth players are born out of trying to address that trend. Those players that have made match day squads recently have probably been judged as the best candidates to make a profit on. Hence Valery getting so much game time. All IMHO.
  21. Yeah, Howe may need to prove himself at another club first before going "big time", especially considering his Burnley stint. The alternative is a temp mgr whilst Zidane learns to talk the English betterly.
  22. Temp manager until end of season...Poch to Utd, Howe to Spurs. IF I'm right, your heard it here first and Ill be ITK.
  23. Also, you would like to assume that, as the the club are asking for opinions, they have checked with the coppers first....otherwise, why both to canvass opinion.
  24. Its not about preventing them from being sold, its was more about how me may have been able to slow down the exodus, and squeeze more money out of the buying club. Yes, all our decent players have left, just think we may have missed a trick. Slapping a £30 - £50m charge on any transfer dealings wouldnt have put the likes of City and Liverpool off, but we may have got some extra £££ out of it.
  25. Cant see a thread on this, but it may have been hidden away on another thread....so. sorry if already posted.... As per this article, Liverpool have a 100m Euro transfer charge on any dealings with Barcelona, due to Mascherano, Suarez and Coutinho going that way and (presumably) their desire to stop VVD, Mane, Salah etc going in future. Makes you wonder why we didnt do something similar. I know we got good deals, and ultimately, players want to go.....but it may have slowed down the exodus somewhat! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46290480
