Bit dramatic, its VVD we are talking about, not Terry Waite! Also, him sitting out 20+ games this season is going to stitch him up more than it will SFC. We get 50m at the end of the season, instead of 70+ now.

Yes. but it appears it can be broken should Benfica wish to sell.

We should be going for Talisca at Besiktas, saw quite a bit of him when he was playing in Portugal. Could be exactly what we need. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talisca

You understood your own made up assumption....?

If I was given the choice of keeping Forster or spending 20+m on a replacement, id rather keep the 20+m...as he is fine for our level. However, I would put him in that group of players such as Jack Wilshere and Luke Shaw, where their natural ability can only get them so far. They lack the intelligence to take on what is being asked of them by their coaches / manager.

Our half-witted fans don't know how lucky they are

You're absolutely correct. Id much rather have a massive bulging wallet and be in the Prem, than win a few things and spend a few seasons in other divisions. -

Don't get the past few seasons confused with club ethos. I would say that their approach to filling up a trophy cabinet is substantially better than ours. -

Do you get silverware for that? -
How would you feel if no one left but we didn't sign anyone else?

What if our inept manager was only part of it, what if last season was exactly the season you would expect from that squad. -
Can we finish higher than eighth in the 2017-18 season?
Marsdinho replied to SaintJackoInHurworth's topic in The Saints
If Everton are our benchmark, we've slipped behind them quite a bit. They have spent huge sums of money on superior players to what they already have (probably spending the ££££ they will get for Barkley and Lukaku) A few years ago, the top four was nailed on, just depended on what order. Now we are approaching a situation where the top 7 could be nailed on. Any other team gets investment, the starts spending the huge sums of money available, they will then make it a top 8...etc. The rest of the teams will be in a relegation scrap, do well in your relegation scrap, and you may end up 10th....do badly, and you're down. -

That article is a rehash of the artlices they published when we appointed both Koemann and Puel. In fact, every time we appoint a new manager, or player....that report comes out. Almost word for word.

For your next trick, are you going to enlighten us as to why we are called the Saints, as none of us know. Cheers

Ross Wilson appointed as Director of Scouting & Recruitment
Marsdinho replied to Ulrich van Gobbel's topic in The Saints
Just seen Ross in Texaco garage, filling up his brand new Merc. Imagine the cash he is on for basically playing Football Manager! He gave me the look to say "I know, that you know, that I know...." and made a quick exit before I asked him how the Ronaldo meetings were going -
Yeah, pretty much....selling club felt the fee we offered represented good business.

Some weird ctrl c ctrl v ****e going on there...!!!

This thread will come back and be hilarious in a year or 2.....but for completely the opposite reasons you give. Not sure he will be a massive sale for the club, when you can probably get someone a lot better (for half the price) from Europe. There is a reason why we were able to get him for 10m, and there is a reason why he wont be sold for much more than 15 - 20m...In a couple of seasons time, when hes demonstrated that circa 7 goals a season is his level. All gong and no dinner. That said, he would make a good impact sub, last 10 mins or so, against tired legs. this thread will come back and be hilarious in a year or 2this thread will come back and be hilarious in a year or 2

Redmond is just another... Shaun Wright-Phillips, Aaron Lennon, Theo Walcott, Andros Townsend, Wayne Routledge...etc....etc Speed is their only skill.

Sell Redmond, sign James Rodriguez and give him 16m in wages.

This. Also, this is football, everyone stitches everyone up....its not right, but its part of the business. Players leave when they have kissed the badge a week before, managers leave if they get offered a better job, players gets dropped as soon as we get to the prem, fans boo if they dont like a player etc. Its not great, but dont assume everyone acts like and angel apart from us. For the record, I want Puel out and think Les has far too much control at SFC than his CV should allow.
