Saints 4 actual goals vs 0 Blackburn - Match Thread
Andrew Watson replied to Convict Colony's topic in The Saints
Keep Szmodics quiet and should be comfortable,if we do not it becomes a real battle. -
Utter garbage,we made a very average side look good in the second half and would have lost had it not been for a brilliant Bazanu save.
-
How the hell are we unbeaten in 12,utter shambles since h/t,as for the managers blue eyed boy.
-
Expected a 1 - 1 draw, but to throw away 4 points in our last 2 away games in the last few minutes is galling. The failure to kill off games will mean the play offs at best, as well as the terrific form of the top 2 teams.
-
4 points from the 2 away games would be good. Leeds and Ipswich both have 2 tough away games as well.
-
Sammy szmodics would be a good shout, perhaps the club can sound him out on the 16th of this month.
-
Great news, they all need to kick on in the next few years. Agree with the above comment about multi year contracts.
-
For the players we have compared to most teams in this league, the football we produce is tippy, tappy garbage.
-
Turned off after 30 minutes, utter dross for the umpteeth time this season.

Huddersfield 1-1 Saints - Match Thread

Should have been out of sight by half time, awful second half performance. 2 more points thrown away,as for Manning, totally pissed off, typical Saints. -
Read a book by Tom Bower an investigative journalist years ago,he said that when Redknapp managed West Ham there were between 85 -90 players on the books. Apparently the chairman did not know half of them were at the club.

Cardiff won there 4 - 0,a clean sheet and 2 goal win would be good. -
Good luck with your Hampshire career Ali Orr.

Been a while since last "where are they now (posters)" thread?

I was Corsacar Saint, but messed up rejoining when we moved to Cornwall a couple of years ago and consequently now use my own name. -
A win and a clean sheet, now we have to keep winning and start building our goal difference up.

Saints 1-1 Rotherham - Match Thread
Andrew Watson replied to Lee On Solent Saint's topic in The Saints
Why should we be surprised with such a wretched performance,at present looking at mid table mediocrity, which is patently not good enough. A couple of my mates went to the game and both said it was one of the worst performances that they have ever seen from Saints,Rotherham are the whipping boys after all. Perhaps I am wrong to think that the squad is totally under performing and it really is this mediocre,as for the management. -
Very sorry to see him go,if only he could have tempered his attacking instincts, there is a very talented player there.
-
One of the few players to have a perfect professional attitude on the pitch and on the training ground,a perfect role model for any youngster. Good luck at Rangers Steve Davis.
-
A pity we did not score a second,it might have calmed my nerves in the 10 minutes added on,however have to be happy with a clean shhet and the 3 points.
-
First half as well as we have played in ages, need to win a few on the bounce now.Lets hope we turn up at Stoke on tuesday night,in what could be a cold, wet evening.Charles apart that has to be best starting eleven, with perhaps Stephens to come in for Manning.
-
Your being silly WC,when have Essex or Surrey ever been penalised by the ECB. The RFU and ECB have always had their favourites and always will. Perhaps now the brilliant Rod Bransgrove has gone,Hampshire will be seen in a different light.

Terrific season overall, real shame our batting again cost us any chance of winning the championship.
-
Pretty sure all the above list except Crane and Wood are contracted for next season. I think the fact that we have signed the likes of Whitely and Howells in the last 2 years in some way impacts the club in signing a decent opener for red ball cricket. After all there is only so much a county can spend on its yearly playing budget and we do not want to break these rules like Durham allegedly did in 2016 and end up with a fine and being relegated. Do not disagree with the sentiment though Lighthouse.

When was the last time we actually gave Surrey a close 4 day game, there was the game when Amla batted all day to save the game, apart from that we are normally awful against them. Good bowlers or not surely we should be putting up far more resistance.

Losing like winning is a habit and the players are becoming used to the latter. The toxic atmosphere at SMS if [ and when ] we go behind to Leeds will not help, however what do the club expect with the utter dross served up at home for much of the last 6 years. As I said the situation is becoming far worse and far quicker than us fans expected,a couple of wins on the bounce could lighten the mood, but where is even one win coming from.
