Unbelievably BBC Sport, football have a photo of Ali Dia in their name the player quiz online. Must be an absolute rarity, how many Saints fans would recognize him. The only person I could imagine guessing him correctly, would be Steve Grant. I was reliably informed by my very close friends son, who went to school with SG, that his nickname was Statto and there was nothing he did not know about the club.

It is a fact of life that some people can bullshit their way through life and do very well. Wilson is one such person.

The 2004/05 team got relegated, the 2022/23 will be relegated by this saturday or the following friday for sure. So pretty immaterial, but would take the original squad out of the two.

Was there with mates, as alluded to we were not fancied to win, so was disappointing but expected. However the 1984 loss to Everton was very hard to take for players and supporters alike.
-
We are finishing last, so pretty immaterial really.

Luton were deducted 30 points and consequently relegated to league 2 in 2008/09, because they had a dodgy chairman who kept breaking the rules. Only ever happens to the smaller clubs, this will always be the case and there is meant to be a level playing field.

Might as well play with 9 men, if Elynoussi and Diallo picked.

Supported the club for 60 years Charlie Wayman, so unsurprisingly you are wrong yet again. By the way I am not a brainless idiot, takes one to know one as they say. -
Looked excellent today, we need him to keep performing and score a few more goals.
-
Thought we would be hammered. Showed some real fight for a change, although Spurs are like us and have a can be got at back 4. Well played all the same Saints.

No sinking ship in docks, just at St Marys.

0 - 4, Kane and Son will tear it up like they did when no fans were allowed due to covid

Probably 5 million plus a year wasted on these dreadful players wages, why did we not get rid of Diallo when there was interest last year and surely we cannot still be serious in wanting to extend the other jokers contract. There are others as well who are bleeding the club dry, for so little effort, how did it ever get to this? -
Very well played today young man, a top performance.

How many of the players would even care?

Would any of the foreign players even no where Southampton was ? Doubtful if their agents, did not tell them it was England and the premier league. Disinterested load of mercenaries. / -
Well done lads, hope you make thev final and win it.
-
Blackburn out fought and out played them for 65 minutes then hung on. Have our fragile luvs got it in them to out fight anyone in the premier league. Not a good time to play them either, they are due a win, which I expect they will get on saturday.

Agrree CB, they are mostly arrogant blue voting wankers.

Relegation - What two teams do we take with us
Andrew Watson replied to Lee On Solent Saint's topic in The Saints
Bompey and Leeds. -
Back to reality with another no show performance, I said we would come bottom after Brighton game, we really are a poor side. As much as Bazanu was at fault with goal, what the hell was that useless individual Bednarek doing.
-
Good luck Ruben, should be an interesting ride to the end of the season.
-
Has to stay in charge to the end of the season and then review his position , is surely the right way to go.
-
Perhaps some on here will lay off the lad now, he is 20 years old and has playing behind some pretty bad back lines for most of the season.

saintant we have no one running the club who has the slightest idea about the football side of the club. Jason Wilcox played at the highest level, albeit 20 ish years ago, he has been at the best club in the country and has hopefully learnt a bit from the senior management along the way. Most importantly it would be very surprising if he does not have some pretty decent footballing contacts. Ankersen cannot and dare not fail again, he has three choices - 1 - Go down the metric/ stats route 2 - Speak to the only real football person at the club [ If he has not yet started at club, he surely has to speak to him 3 - Speak to football people outside club. If Ankersen has any sense it has to be 2 or 3 and will his ego let him speak to outside football people. I am not saying Wilcoxs input is going to be amazing, but it has to be the best option we currently have.
