  1. Nor were Mariner,Wark,Gates, Hunter and a few more, had Liverpool [ sorry to mention them,a team I loathe ] not been so good then, they would have won the league a couple of times under Bobby Robson.
  2. Need a massive clear out Jacob, too many mercenaries and sub standard ploayers, I suppose that is the same at every premier league club though, with the league awash with money. Very pleased to see Ipswich back up,it is a real shame your best ever player the exceptional Kevin Beattie was not alive to see his beloved club get promoted.
  3. Really poor batting display against South Group whipping boys. Why does Weatherly bat at 4 ?
  4. Thought he deserved a chance when Jones was sacked, was proved very wrong. The man has been a total disaster.
  5. Ron was the best header of a ball ever in British football, any one lucky enough to have seen him play would agree.Of course he had the great Terry Paine and also John Sydenham to supply the crosses, but the man was a helluva player. If the likes of John Charles, Jackie Milburn and Nat Lofthouse were better in the air, they were truly world beaters. I believe the legendary Sir Matt Busby described Ron Davies as the best centre forward in Europe, when he scored all 4 Saints goals at Old Trafford in 1969.
  6. Eric Martin for me,terrific goalkeeper.
  7. Has been excellent for Forest, probably their player of the seaon,he basically did more for Forest, than all our dreadful signings put together. The legendary Brian Clough will be smiling down from above, thats for sure.
  8. We will be in the championship,do we really think we should have a manager who has managed in the premier league. To get out of the championship we need a manager who knows the league, whether RM [ assuming it happens ] or some one else. Still think Burnley rode the Kompany wave and never lost momentum,as opposed to really being that good, but well done to them anyway.
  9. The great JA would be turning in his grave,if he had to right reports on the last 6 years of purgatory at St Marys.
  10. Need a disciniplarian who will put the fear of god up the players if they turn up late for training or break other club rules, they really are a bunch of over paid wusses. Sick to death of most of them. Rickie Lambert made a brilliant point when he said you have to love the club and be totally in,otherwise leave,if we can get rid of half of them.
  11. Were Swansea not thinking of replacing him, before they went on such a brilliant run .
  12. Not having an out and out quickie is certainly a minus,as well as our iffie batting, we will not be challenging the title this year. We will definately finish behind Surrey and Warwicks and maybe Essex and Lancs as well. I know we have Brad Wheal, but he does not even get a mention, perhaps he will come in thursday if Kyle Abbot is out. Oh for a Fidel Edwards or Darren Powell.
  13. I would hazard a bet that the budget does not stretch to another batsman. Firstly quite a few will be on really good contracts - Vince,Dawson, Abbot,Abbas and probably Brown. Secondly as Durham found out a few years back,to Hampshires great fortune, you cannot over spend on wages. That said how has Giles White kept his job for so long ?
  14. If half the players here now,had a fraction of Rickie Lamberts love and commitment to Saints when he was at the club,we would not be going down.
  15. Was it Frank Worthington who said Mcmenemy had the biggest head in football ?
  16. A lot of premier league footballers are classless, egotistical, mercenary individuals, the worst part of that is that they are put there by the fans who worship them.Still detest most of them,a real days work would finish most of them off.
  17. Totally agree with that Turkish and they have a really good manager in Mark Robins, who having been given time has done a really fantastic job there. Schumaker at Plymouth has done a fantastic job as well.As my now local team, living in Launceston, the only time I would ever consider going to Home Park is to see Saints.
  18. In 2010/11 we went up to the championship and Plymouth went down to League 3, today they clinched promotion to the championship. 11 years ago we went up to the premier league and Coventry went down to league 3 and they could even pass us by winning the championship play offs in a few weeks time [ maybe unlikely ]. Both clubs now have good financial backing and have good potential support, how things can change.
  19. Perhaps if we are 5 down after 20 minutes like Spurs were, the referee will take pity on us and blow the full time whistle 70 minutes early.
  20. This is the worst team that we have ever had in a top flight season.
  21. THANK YOU COLLECTIVELY FOR HELPING TO RELEGATE OUR CLUB. BEYOND ANGRY,THE ONLY BLESSING IS THAT I NOW LIVE IN CORNWALL AND HAVE AN EXCUSE NOT TO WATCH THAT SPINELESS,USELESS BUNCH OF PATHETIC LOSERS.
  22. Please leave our club you clueless individual, you and Nathan Jones have helped send our club into freefall, which will be very hard to redress.
  23. Would love to get the double over Bompey, will we be up for a scrap, because they work hard and play as a team. I sincerely hope so, I also think that their hammering today makes the game even harder. Come on Saints
  24. Leave it out Fabrice, the man is loathed by most of the Saints fanbase. I suggest you support Brentford.
  25. Expected us to lose and expected us to fail to score. Just a total mess of a club, god knows where we will be in the table this time next year. I pray that if we win one more game [ unlikely, I know ], it is against Bompey, it is bad enough they are staying up, even if deservedly they have fight and team spirit, something our fragile players have failed to show all season. Totally pissed off and dejected at what our club has become, thanks to the jokers at the helm, Ankersen and Semmens.
