After Tuesday I walked away from the ground having accepted that promotion is off the table and if anything we are in for a relegation battle, the tactics, the lack of composure passing out of the back gifting chance after chance after chance are exasperating to watch. To start with i could live with that as we looked like scoring but since the transfer window closed and certain players did not get their move they have clearly downed tools and going through the motions - which is down to Martin picking them / playing in wrong position and we dont look like scoring enough to win games - just like last season, possession up to the 18 yard line pedestrian and gives so much time for opposition to get their shape back and then we look around and think oh bollocks what do we do now. I am not one for major over reactions but am already perplexed by the managerial decisions another who will not play players in their natural position which made them pro players I wonder whose next on the Ankersen spreadsheet of doom

Will season ticket prices be released now and will you renew?
ChrisR replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
Yes had the same email hey Mr season ticket holder you've paid us £27 for your ticket as a thank you please buy friends and family a ticket at £10, okay that wont be the price for where i sit but still a massive piss take and if this is how the 1st game of the season is going then we are likely to get these offers regularly through the season - grrrr -
Worst Southampton chants of the recent Premier League era?
ChrisR replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
Weve scored a goal how sh*te must you be - this has become the most cringe worthy song in recent time. I use to be in the Archers road and sang my heart out to some great songs but am too old these days other than the odd OWTS but I do despair at some of the stuff sung these days -
originally i wanted Everton & Leicester but now leeds have Allardyce as manager I want them to go so Leeds & Everton please but looks like Leicester are buggering that up

1) Tell selles he is not going to be at the club in any circumstance 2) try and find a manager with the right mentality who wants to score goals and have method of play like the guy at Swansea for example and get whomever in early 3) do NOT offer contracts to Ely, Dan N'undulu etc and sell those saleable assets early so we have a clear picture of the players left behind and what will be needed 4) cut ticket prices massively we will be by far and away the most expensive club to watch in the Championship if they dont and that will have a major impact on season tickets and even match by match games imaging paying £60 (in the top seats) to watch Huddersfield 5) after sorting out playing side need to work on some recognition for the long suffering fans other than ticket prices ( a free drink once per home game or something not another bleeding pin badge) 6) forget football for a while and watch the cricket should be a good Ashes series

I remember the euphoria of last day escapes in the 90's and in 2005 when we scored I thought we could pull it off again alas it was not to be and i sat in my seat for a good 10 mins after the game in a numbed shock but cant say it lasted for days but I was very pissed off at the time. This year I have been resigned to it from very early in the year and now just laugh at how bad we are and it just sums up the PL when all you here on the radio are poor old Spurs/Liv fans moaning on how bad they have been this season because they are not in the top 4 and wont have CL next year - come and be a Saints fan you bunch of spoiled tossers - so will i miss the PL possibly for the standard of football but I can watch that on TV most days if I choose to but I wont miss the prejudice TV/Radio coverage not the PL match day experience so am I gutted we are going down - nope

Newcastle away on Sunday is a very good chance for that to happen, with another Selles tactical master class in defending a lane but not bothering tracking a runner from midfield as long as you stay in your lane lads you have done well and followed the process just feck off you useless excuse of a manager

Having sat through that complete and utter pile of drivel they call football i must have fallen asleep as i can not remember the 2 efforts on target. That has to go down as one of the worst performances at home in a complete season of poor performance even the Leicester win was down to them missing several open goals - the team selections are shocking the lack of energy after the initial 10 mins is unprofessional, the walking off the pitch by most of the players at the end is disrespectful to those mugs like me who stayed to the end. I will go to Fulham game cause its a Saturday and have a few beers with friends but there is no way i am going to watch the bin dippers slice through us. The only silver lining t this cluster f*ck of a season is that the Skates blew it yet again so we dont have to suffer their gloating.

It does not matter who we play, we will set up for a double low block in a 5-4-1 formation with Walcott as our pacy outlet ball sitting on the half way and we will spend the whole game playing an aerial out ball, then on the hour replace him with Paul and start playing it to feet. In other words we have no idea how to play with the ball but we are so well drilled to play without it though keeping shape and lines (bo**ocks I got that wrong as well). Whatever we do it will end with defeat I just fear by how many. Does anyone see any difference between Selles and Pellagrino it didnt work then and its not working now

I read an article on Chamionship season ticket prices and the most expensive for this current season is Bristol City @£650 with a lot of clubs having their top tickets @£590 so if the club freeze mine at £734 even with the extra 4 games it will be the most expensive in the league and having suffered the mighty return of 2 wins and 4 draws you can hardly call it value for money - anything but a significant price drop and I could well give up season ticket for 1st time in 30 years

if we lose 9 nil again do you think the club would stick with the manager or would we be looking for our 4th manager of the season, perhaps we can challenge Watford for the most PL managers in a season. I want to see us have a go and score from open play more than once and given that Leicester are poor at the back (because they dont play Vestegarrd) we should be able to score I think it will be 2-4. In all seriousness if I see JB and ME on the team sheet I am staying in the pub.

What players will you miss, should they leave, when we go down?
ChrisR replied to Dman's topic in The Saints
Agree with JWP and I just hope he breaks Beckhams record whilst at Saints, I can see it now he will do it playing for West ham (he could go there to replace Rice) and the media can then forget he ever played for Saints and concentrate on that part with him plastered all over the place in their kit. KWP, Tino and Stu A from last season - the rest can all go but we will be left with rather a lot cause no-one will take them. -
After the Wolves game i had pretty much accepted we are down, then a brief hiatus of hope after the Chelsea result but afraid that has been dashed with Leeds game, i just cant see us stringing the necessary number of games together to get out of it. I hope we are either safe or already down before the Liverpool game as i could not stand losing to them to go down, but given our lack of goals think it will be all over well before then

Selles said in his press conference he wanted us to play through the lines by passing and moving, playing tall Paul give the players an easy out by just lumping it forward to use his height advantage, I fear his signing maybe the final nail in our coffin (not his fault) as the team is low in confidence they dont want to play a risky pass so we simply revert to Jones ball. For this game i would like to see this team Willy KWP - DCC - Salisu - Perraud Diallo - JWP - Alcaraz Sulemana - Mara - Djenepo Then for the Leicester game replace Diallo with Lavia and Djenepo with Stu A

So I take a look at this thread to see if there are any rumours about whom could replace Ralph to read endless drivel about MLG - sums up this place really, my 1st post in years and now my last sad situation this is supposed to be a forum to talk about Saints not other posters
