  1. Difficult to provide proof without giving sources out, but it is true. The proof is in the pudding, very disappointing season, Won 13, lost 9, no draws. Some of the performances were very poor, lack of a plan a or b, and an exodus of players by their choice, 1 players family member put out a damning tweet, which was subsequently taken down.
  2. Management team promoted beyond their capability and believing their own hype, no respect - actually more like disrespectful of players
  3. Financials are competitive I believe, however respect is a 2 way thing
  4. Talking with some in the know, the team got where they were because of the quality of the players not her, lot's of discontent amongst the players as training was bad and no tactics or plan.
  5. Great to see Kayla Wendell and Ella Morris be called up to England U23's. Both have been with Saints from a very young age and still only 19 so a promising career ahead
  6. You can knock off a 3rd of your £30k and you'll be around what the top earners will be on
  7. Off to the US I believe and quite right that other haven't stayed as it would mean a big salary cut from their current job
  8. That's my girl! 🙂
  9. Yes but they don't have highlight of every game, features etc. Agree that updates should be an easy thing for them to start though.
  10. The Saints web site does have reasonable coverage - https://www.southamptonfc.com/women#news-feed with highlights etc, there is also an independent Twitter account here:
  11. Not sure about the Women's team, but Saints stopped supporting the girls academy when Rupert Lowe came back to save money. Hampshire FA then took the academy over until around 4 years ago Saints brought it back in house and started their own team. Many of the 1st team now have come through the academy system and should have been promoted last year but for covid......
  12. As the title says, Saints are streaming's the home game on Sunday, if you've nothing to do worth watching a winning team!
  13. It was my me and my two girls who Matt spoke to on Saturday night. He was a complete gentleman and totally down to earth and spent a good five minutes chatting to the kids one after the other. He asked them loads of questions and made their night. They've both gone to school this morning itching to tell their teachers and friends about what happened. Do you think they care whether Matt had a flutter on what time the ball went out for a throw? All they know is that their favourite Saints player ever could be bothered to ring a 10 and a seven-year-old from Dubai. Hero? Too bloody right he is.
  14. Wrong link? I can't see anything about signing anyone...
  15. Agree. My view is that the -10 will soon become a monkey of gorilla-sized proportions on our back if we don't start shifting it. The longer it's hanging around the more pressure the team are going to have...every week will be a must-win game. Pardew needs to look at the squad and pick 11 players who he thinks can handle that pressure. Nevermind if they're the best in terms of ability, just get 11 out there who believe they can win matches and can put their bloody foot in where it matters.
  16. Give him a couple more games!!
  17. Agreed. For all of us who donated money though it would be nice to know what happened to it.
  18. Would also give us the option of playing three at the back, especially at home. May find as the season goes on that we have to change our shape to give other teams something to think about. Otherwise we could find it a bit like last season when teams come and park the bus and we don't have a plan B.
  19. Seems strange that they have Pardew actually saying that, they don't make up people's quotes, do they?!
  20. Agree. He did well when he was here but sounds like things have not gone too well for him since. The thing Murty brings to the table (apart from a lot of food by the look of him) is experience. That's what we need right now.
  21. What hasn't been mentioned on this thread yet is that up until our relegation from The Prem, Saints also ran the girls' school of excellence at U10 12, 14 and 16 levels. These girls are the best in the county and play against girls from other FA schools of excellence across the country. In our region that means the likes of Charlton, Reading and Chelsea. From these centres come the England internationals. After our relegation the centre was taken over by Hampshire FA and now the girls play matches under the county name and not that of Southampton. I've seen the girls play at all levels and make no mistake, they'd take a lot of boys' teams apart. The one-touch stuff is great to watch and personally I'd take that over hoof it and run any day of the week.
  22. No, in with the plebs! He's with a couple of youngsters, guess his kids. He's even been to use the concourse lavs according to my very excited source!
  23. Has to be someone a bit elusive...Skacel maybe?!
  24. Interestingly, Andrew Lloyd Webber is in the stands watching today's game. Imagine the fuss this would have caused a few weeks ago before ML stepped in to save us!
