Reform MP: Shame the French didn't defend sovereignty in 1940 As we've reported in the last hour, the French government has hit back at Reform UK's plan to deploy the Royal Navy in the Channel to pick up small migrants and deposit them back on French soil - whether or not the French agree to allow British military personnel in their territorial waters. An interior ministry spokesperson said it would be "a violation of French sovereignty as well as a violation of maritime law and international law".
