  1. One more for Aribo
  2. I've had it on in the background whilst working, so haven't picked up loads of interesting quotes. A few that I heard that were perhaps worth noting: 1. Stu and KWP possibly in contention. Larios still definitely out. 2. New boys have trained well this week, but won't promise that they start 3. Lots of questions about criticism this week; still defensive, says he was always accepting responsibility but generally seemed a little more composed this time (not the level of madness post-brentford showed)
  3. Presser on now. Live via Saints website.

    XG

Expected and actual are different. You can't say XG is bollox because that's not what the score was. XG is representative of the average, not a single instance.
  5. I don't think that's how it works. City have a buy back clause whilst Romeo is still a Saints player. They can activate until the point he leaves. So in your scenario there would be two outcomes: 1. Saints sell to Chelsea at which point the buy back clause ends (as he is no longer a Saints player). Romeo = Chelsea player 2. City activate the buy back clause before 1. at the agreed price. Romeo = City player Or have I totally misunderstood how buy backs work?! Edit: I see what you are saying now. 2. happens and then City sell to Chelsea....I guess in theory that could happen, but has a lot of complications.
  6. First post…so be gentle. I don’t doubt Ralph’s passion or self-belief. It’s those traits that a lot of us fell in love with, particularly after a string of uninspiring appointments. He loves the game, works hard and is clearly dedicated. But I think the main issues with Ralph is stubbornness and need for complete control. Take his explanation for quitting Leipzig: “We had a home game against Bayern Munich when we won 2-1 and afterwards there was speaking about not enough Red Bull philosophy in that game. “This was some parts where I couldn’t then agree, so it was important for me to step out and go my own way and to learn other things also” I'd argue this need for control and stubbornness could also help explain why we had no Assistant Manager for so long, why we had inexperienced coaches for so long, why he favours working with younger players, why reports of falling out with players occur, why despite a run of shocking results no radical change was made and why he wanted to come to here in the first place. I think we are starting to see signs of SR challenging his control, and it will be interesting to see if he is both willing and capable of accepting this. My bet, he won't.
