I thought it was cash at the turnstiles for this game?

More relieved about Lallana being fit than disappointed about Oxo being out for a few weeks. Looks like the Plymouth cancellation may prove to be a blessing in disguise, as others predicted

Will Cortese send adkins on his way should we not secure promotion?
hoozonside10 replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
If we dont get promoted this season, I forsee a mass exodus of players (well the decent ones anyway) and the new season beginning with a very different teamsheet. For that reason, it would be good to keep NA for continuity purposes as he would have the chance to build the team he sees as getting us out of this division - which is the key point; when we do get to the championship, we will have to build a new team again to get into the premiership, and so on... FWIW I think it is all irrelevant as we are going up (I say we are going up!)... aren't we?? -
At least Peterborough still have to go to Huddersfield, someone has to drop points there, although knowing our luck they'll both win it!!!

Question for the Positive-Thinkers after the Walsall result
hoozonside10 replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
That's an interesting point, if you had asked me on Monday if I would have been happy with a draw at Colchester this Saturday then , hell - yeah! But now the pressure is on to win. Obviously we need to win against Yeovil as it will be like the Swindon game - a 3 points no brainer. I guess that a draw against Colchester should be seen as a reasonable result, but I fear it would be doom and gloom....The Walsall result has definitely racked up the pressure on NA and the team, the next two games will be telling. -
RIP Dean Richards. This has obviously taken the gloss of todays win - a fantastic defender who I have always thought that, had he stayed with us, could have gone on to being an England regular.

My son wants to go, he's 7 and a saints fan already, I've brought him to a few games this season and he loves it...BUT he is still fascinated by Rooney/Ferdinand/Berbatov etc.. as they are the ones everyone at his school wants to be when playing football and he is getting excited at the thought of seeing them play against Saints. So when/if we go to this game I just know he will be asking "Where's Rooney/Ferdinand/Berbatov" several times during the match and I'll get all the hardcore uber fans giving me the hard stare - so please bear this in mind before assuming all the kids are man u fans - obviously some will, but others are just going to be Saints fans who are a bit "star-struck" as they weren't around in our premiership days and it's all new to them

The "I'm not sure I can be R-Sed to go to the Oldham game" thread
hoozonside10 replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
I always had a few beers before the game - have done for the last ten/15 years or so - anyway, my son wanted to go to his first game a couple of weeks ago so I went to a game alcohol free for the first time..... only turns out we've been relegated! Twice the bloke next to me said!! -
Not again - Please refrain from making "In the know/Look at me" comments on a public forum. Use PM or go round his house to talk about it, but don't print it here for all to see. It is, at best, tedious.

I love the way we are slagging off our chairman when we have no idea what has actually happened. If anything, the Scunny chairman has caused all the aggro by publicising each alleged milestone in the discussions - this doesn't help anyone and I would be extremely ****ed off if someone I was dealing with behaved like this. He is doing this for his own/Scunnys needs - not Nigel Adkins as I think he(Scunny chairman) believed he was off, and definitely not ours. Not saying that what has been reported hasn't happened but at least hold judgement until we hear some facts, or at least news, from the OS.

That is a truly inspiring speech! Well, if he didn't know it before, AP certainly knows that nothing less than automatic promotion will be acceptable this season for that story alone! Cortese will not settle for anything less and the slightest hint of not being in the top two will mean swift action to rectify the situation

Markus Liebherr RIP. All tributes here please.
hoozonside10 replied to camdijk's topic in Golden Posts
RIP Marcus and condolences to all your family. You will never be forgotten. -
It's ironic that the Sun are the main national making a big fuss of being asked to pay for photos (Which no other club does) when their sister paper, the Times, is charging people to go on their website (Which no other newspaper does) I think one of the reasons this is making news is that the papers are worried that, if Saints start making money out of it, it may catch on and the Premier League teams might start doing the same thing. If they manage to nip it in the bud with li'l ole us then, from their point of view, it will be worth the fuss.

Eastleigh's DoF, Dave Malone in tonight's Echo
hoozonside10 replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Fitzhugh Fella/Duncan. I do not know you, I know you are an ardent Saints fan and I respect what I read about you from other fans on this forum. But... you obviously are an intelligent person, you know this is going to get negative reactions, hence the comment.. "I had a bet to myself that this thread would get to 10 posts without a personal insult. No I thought not." I do wonder why you do it - is it attention seeking? No I don't believe it is.... Do you have a hidden agenda... possibly... Is it bitterness, it certainly comes across like this, has the club changed in your eyes since the Liebherr/Cortese regime have taken over? Has your influence declined there? From my point of view, the club has changed dramaticallysince the takeover, but it needed to. Football has changed rapidly since we graced the Premier League, if we want a chance of making it back there, never mind surviving there, we need people like Cortese; and with the backing of Marcus Liebherr we have the financial clout to stand a chance. I really think you need to move on and by no means forget the past but accept it is the past and embrace the future. PS it is a forum which is for discussion so I fully support your right to post your opinion, I hope you accept this as mine PPS As a poster of sub 50 posts I fully expect to be ignored!! -
I have to agree with this, if he doesn't want to be here then get him out - if we can get 600k for him then we should be grateful - what has Rickie Lambert ever done for us?????????????????

I have it on good authority, from a 99% trustworthy source that Bart is on his way to Portugal - not sure if it is a loan or permanent but you heard it here first.

I bet it doesn't get published. At least the Echo publish the negative comments. I let rip at the Daily Mail on their online story/fabrication - funnily enough it didn't get published, yet on here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1277623/Alan-Pardew-faces-Southampton-sack-club-line-Steve-Cotterill-replacement.html Pretty much all the comments published are anti SFC club comments (ie other clubs fans saying we must be mad etc..) The Echo may be sad, but the Mail just stinks and is a filthy rag - at least the red tops are honest about what they are and aren't ashamed about it.

If we don't go up, then 1st to win JPT back to Back??
hoozonside10 replied to ponto1963's topic in The Saints
To be honest, it was a great day yesterday and one I'll never forget...but I would be quite happy to go out in the first round next season if that meant we would finish in the top two as we were playing less games. Obviously if we could do both..... -
Who said skates were thick, one even predicted the score!

So who's received their wembley tickets in the post yet?
hoozonside10 replied to saints_is_the_south's topic in The Saints
Is there anyone higher than me?!? I am in block 528 (that's the uppermost section) row 44 - they must be issuing parachutes for that row!! I can feel the nosebleed coming on just thinking about it!! (No I am not moaning about having a ticket, and yes I am sure there is someone who would bite my hand off for it - just wondering how high the row numbers go) -
I can see it now , first game of the next season (in this league unfortunately) and we fail to win... It will be a bloodbath on here, can't wait!

Ah.. I can explain that, my sister is dual-nationality, she is British & Canadian, lives in Toronto and has done for 35 years or so, took a Canadian passport to make life easier. I can't believe I'm writing this on a Saints Football Forum am I boring anyone?
