I didn't say he cost us a goal today. Re-read my comment. I said his error directly cost us a goal last week. Generally, today, he was poor, I felt. Cannot recover for the goal due to lack of pace (which for a fullback in a high line is an issue) and then stands off too much as the Plymouth winger hit the post, cutting inside him. As for the corner, you'd expect a left footed player to be able to swing a half-decent ball into the box. There are three touches before the goal from his corner so it's hardly a reflection of any quality on his part. I'm just not convinced by him. That's all. Going forward, he fits RM's system. Defensively, he looks vulnerable, to me.

Manning is poor. Yes he slips there but too far in front of play and then no pace to recover... I have not seen anything in him in all the games i've watched to suggest he is any good. Perraud a better player, for me

As noted, Plymouth's lack of quality is all that has kept this at 0-0; against a better front three, we'd have been really caught short. That said, we know this is (hopefully) as thin and as weak as the squad will look this season and we're in the game. Would like to see SAA on and Che dropping a little deeper to get hold of the ball.. maybe a chance for Ballard in front of him.

From my (albeit limited) experience, the slight issue with Thierry Small is that he is really not a very good player and this, in turn, has created a significant barrier to his doing overly well as a football player.

Positives for me: Charlie, Smallbone, Che and SAA Negatives: Manning a concern in reading movement on counter attacks, KWP and Tella mostly looking like they don’t wanna be here and AA invisible for most of the game and a terrible first touch (whilst acknowledging the goals)
