1. If anyone has seen MOTD2 last night I have made a complaint against the bias comments made by Peter Schmeichel. My complaint relates to him acting as an Agent for Mid-Table United and telling people that Adam should join United. My complaint (Case number CAS-2628776-6YYSGG‏) :- If anyone else would also like to complain go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/complain-online/ . I also hope the Club also complain about these comments perhaps this will be the first real test for Ralph over Nicola (who imo who have taken action over them).
2. Remember in Dec 2012 after 2 months in the 1st team that the London media said that Arsenal were going to take Luke off our hands for £5M....http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2255426/Arsenal-talk-Southampton-Luke-Shaw-transfer.html .......I think Saints just laughed at that valuation and said he was going to be a £30M player in a couple of years..... I think Arsenal just think we will accept the CURRENT MARKET VALUATION for a player whereas Saints (I believe) value a player on what he WILL BE IN A COUPLE OF YEARS. Calum is very highly rated by Saints and if he continues his progress until Pochettino will become a £25m+ player (imo) in a couple of years.
3. Rather than start a new thread I will put it here....In case this has been missed (I couldn't find it posted elsewhere), here is Ralph's Motivational Speech he gave to the World Economic Forum (Davos) in 2012. (It is hard to find with Google because it is "unlisted" on Youtube) It has only had 45 views so don't think many have viewed it, however it is 1 hour & 17 mins long so it is not for quick viewing. (1/ Think Positive Process 2/ Be a Team player 3/ Be a Team player Leader 4/ Reach Beyond your grasp 5/ Happiness ) I think 1:04 is a change from Nicola and I hope he plays 1:06 to the players going to the World Cup. It is "skill" to talk for that long without a script and therefore I think he is a "W" (hand jesters) (and that Glasgow is a " L ").
4. Good point, the foreign refs will not put up with his elbows, pushing and throwing his arms around every time he jumps for the ball... Another thing in Rickie's favour is that coming on late is sometimes difficult for players to get up to speed with the game. This is the second time (after Scotland) where Rickie has scored within 60 seconds of coming on whereas Donkey came on at Everton last week and had no impact on the game........Back to the thread, it would be interesting to know how many chances that the other forwards have made Roo, Sturidge etc. I bet the SUM of the rest will not come anywhere near Rickie's 41?
5. I think it was 89-90 with Matty, Shearer and Wallace banging in the goals
6. When a journo writes something about us I usually check his previous stories. Now back in Nov he wrote an article implying that Luke was going to Spurs in the January transfer window. Did that happen ? And of course he wrote this back in April about Cheats FC. (WARNING : Sick bags at the ready) http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/dave-kidd-column-peoples-portsmouth-1831500#ixzz2uoXWFVEl I think we can see who he supports on the South Coast.
7. If you read the FA report it appears he got booked for his boot coming off. http://www.thefa.com/news/england/development/2014/feb/u17s-out-netherlands-in-the-algarve
8. I DON'T KNOW WHO failed to raise his flag yesterday but I hope people realise IT IS NOT RANDOM and that a least one linesman goes with the same Referee each week and sometimes both linesmen and the Ref are in a "small group". I.e. When we played Norwich last year when Clattenburg gave that joke penalty for the "belly flop" by holt that the linesmen were S BECK & bryan. Against Arsenal for the shirt pull penalty it was S BECK and HOLMES; Everton when he failed to give that clear pen in the 85th min it was S BECK and Child. Yesterday for the offside and handball decisions it was S BECK & HOLMES again (same as arsenal). The other Refs have similar "groups" of linesmen in their games. IMO It's one reason why Nicola complaint against Clattenburg was always going to fail because "HIS GROUP" were always going to support him.
9. If City were to beat Barcelona, repeat IF, then the next round of the CL is either side of our fixture. So their fixtures would be 25/3 (a) United; 29/3 (a) arsenal; 01/4 CL QF; 05/4 (H) Saints ; 09/4 CL QF; 12/4 (a) Liverpool.........http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2014/matches/index.html
10. Just over a year ago the London media hold us that arsenal were going to take Luke off our hands for £5M. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2255426/Arsenal-talk-Southampton-Luke-Shaw-transfer.html £5m what a joke ! I think they will be doubling (and more) the £10M for Calum Chambers before long ? Where to the London media get their valuations from ? some FM game or a dodgy web site or 2 blokes talking down the pub.
11. Fifth Round Proper Saturday 15 February 2014 Sunderland v Southampton, 12.45pm – Live on BT Sport Sunday 16 February 2014 Everton v Swansea City, 1.30pm – Live on ITV Arsenal v Liverpool, 4.00pm – Live on BT Sport Monday 17 February 2014 Brighton & Hove Albion v Hull City, 7.45pm – Live on BT Sport http://www.thefa.com/thefacup/more/tv
12. sunderland have an away game in the league at man city on the wed night before (12th), they could be shell shocked after that.
13. A big NO for me. Can I remind everyone that the CL TV deal is about to DOUBLE soon. Therefore imo I expect that Transfer fees for "CL standard players" will also DOUBLE. So £30m might only be buy £15m (today's value) of replacement. Also who are the replacements ? Most sides above us are looking for "CL Standard Left Backs" and CANNOT find them. For those suggesting selling how many remember :- Chivers to spurs for 125k (a record) with a poor replacement of Saul for 45k ( 2 goals in 49 league app) or Shearer for £3.3m (a record) with poor replacements of Dixon (575k for 11 games - 2 goals) & Speedie (12 games - 0 goals)
14. The Echo says http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/10920975.Rumour_Mill__Even_Poch_linked_with__move_/
15. This whole story is based/started by somebody on a " hoof ball" blog saying they were interested in Rickie and that Saints hadn't replied to their offer. A few of points :- 1/ In the past Saints have put "offers" they are not interested in straight in the SHREDDER without replying. I think aoc a few years in the Jan transfer window (6 months before he left), and I was also told that other Clubs made offers for Luke and Morgan in the last Transfer Window and both those offers went straight in the Shedder without reply. 2/ Do the London media really think that the Don is going to play the second half of the season with only Jay Rod and Ossie as our PL strikers ?, neither of which is a "back to goal target man". The Don is targeting a European place in the next 3-5 years and getting CL standard players in will be achieved by finishing in the top 8 this season not dropping down into the 14-18 group. 3/ For those that say £8m is a large amount, remember that the new CL TV deal coming in soon is DOUBLE the current deal, so £8M then may only be equal to £4m in current values. And imo £4m does not buy you much. 4/ For those saying buy somebody else for the £8m, please name WHO IS AVAILABLE of CL standard for that money ? (I believe we tried to get Lukaka twice in the summer - buy and then loan but were turned down both times).
16. Exactly. Last season : Fulham home he disallows Saints a 2nd goal when 1-0 up, Sky/BBC both said there was no pushing and "could not understand why it had been disallowed" --- Norwich home 1-0 up in the 45th min gives them a free kick on the edge of the box for a Snodgrass dive from which they score. --- Norwich away gives 94 min pen when holt fell over in the box, thanks to AB it stays 0-0. Saints players confront clattenburg at final whistle results in £20,000 fine. This season he gives arsenal a pen when Fonte was pulling a shirt, however viewing the incident on Saints player it shows Jos having his shirt being pulled by an arsenal player in exactly the same way. Clattenburg only sees the Fonte pull.
17. Just to let you know I have had an order outstanding with Waterstones since the 3rd Dec i.e. 18 days and it still says "Order being processed" and "Waiting to be picked from out warehouse". I would like to know Have Hagiologist supplied Waterstones with any copies since the 3rd Dec ? or whether Waterstones are only supplying full price orders ? (and they hope I will cancel). ..... As I live in Bournemouth and the book appeared to be "handled by Waterstones" (i.e. shop signings in Southampton) I went to the 2 branches down here over the w/.e 30 Nov-1st Dec and was told they didn't have it in the shop and was directed to their web site. I ordered from their online services on the 3rd Dec, (which just so happened when they were offering FREE DELIVERY and a 15% discount on books over £25). i.e. the Order price was £29.75. On 8th Dec I received an email saying

Qty Author Title Price

1 GARY CHALK DUNCAN HOLLEY DAVID All the Saints £29.75

Your order contains one or more items that are not currently held in our warehouse. 18. That reporter often gets things wrong where Saints are concerned. Here are some of his "exclusives" :- 1/ 6th Nov 2012 he told us that Nigel "was in crunch talks" over his job, with comments like :- "could be gone as early as today" and "inevitable that the ex-S****horpe boss will be axed sooner rather than later" - Nigel was still in charge for 2 more months. He also said that "Swindon manager Paulo Di Canio, Italian like banker Cortese, could be in line for a move up to the Premier League, if Adkins goes and inevitably former Saints and Cheats manager xxxxxx (cannot mention his name) will be linked with any vacancy." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2228682/Nigel-Adkins-Southampton-talks-future.html 2/ 1st Jan 2013 He told us that Luke was going to Arsenal for £5M http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2255426/Arsenal-talk-Southampton-Luke-Shaw-transfer.html 3/ 9th Jan 2013 He told us that Gross or Di Matteo were going to take over, even though we now know that Pochettino had been watching Saints games for "a while" before he took over. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2259795/Southampton-consider-Christian-Gross-Roberto-Di-Matteo.html 4/ 20th Jan 2013 He told us that Pochettino lack of English on the Training ground was a problem getting the message across He also said "Pochettino could be faced with a torrent of ill-will from the St Mary's crowd during his first game in charge against Everton on Monday." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2265624/Southamptons-new-boss-Mauricio-Pochettino-needs-interpreter-speak-English.html 5/ 25th Feb 2013 He told us that Chelsea were "set to land Luke for £10m" http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2284192/Chelsea-set-land-10m-Southampton-teenager-Luke-Shaw-replace-Ashley-Cole.html
19. Here is the Echo report from May 16th with quotes from Pochettino http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/10423502.Pochettino_says_he_will_leave_Saints_if_Cortese_goes/?ref=arc Reading that article again the only way I see him going is if Nicola was to buy out Joe Lewis.
20. The 1st Fair Play Table is out http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/matchday/fair-play.html We are 6th equal with 202 points (Man City top with 207). We are top of the "Cards" table with 55 out of 60. However we are near the bottom of "positive play" with 45 points, only Fulham. Palace, Toon, Norwich are below us. How they can think teams like Hoofball, Cardiff and Sunderland are more positive than us ? I also had to laugh at the "Respect to Refs" marks in that Hoofball are joint top, did Nolan provide the mark as well as telling the Ref how to ref the game? 21. We have had problems with Wayne Veysey in the past. e.g. Back in Jan he wrote this article http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/3774/the-sweeper/2013/01/26/3700982/the-sweeper-shaw-agreed-new-southampton-deal-because-of?source=breakingnews&ICID=HP_HL_7 He is the guy who wrote KP autobiography.
22. In the last 7 AWAY pl games we have only conceded 3 goals ALL from shots OUTSIDE the area (spurs - bale 25yd special from their only real attempt on goal; sunderland - 20 yd shot that hoovald deflected in from the corner of the box and redman special that would have beaten 99% of gks). The defence is working really well as a unit at the moment we just need to take one of the 3 (or so) very good chances we are making when the score is 0-0 and then everyone will/can relax.
23. Here is the Echo article from 24th May 2007. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/1421507.Bale_all_set_for_Spurs_switch/?ref=arc Adam seems to know the figures and I think he would have mentioned any sell on clauses if they existed.
