Or if we incriminate liverpoo the FA / PL might also apply a player ban of say 3 months for his part in it (keep the player but he is out to xmas). If we have shown VvD this information, he might have agreed not to put in a Transfer Request. Therefore we regain control of the situation.
-
?? Or the PL told them to "end any interest" or we will hit you with a Transfer Ban. ??
-
Long Overdue, they should have done it previously. There are enough quotes from their "single tactic" manager about talking to VvD's rep.
-
I'm also not convinced by Silva. In a game they had to win his team had ZERO shots on target. Also I like teams to defend set plays with man to man marking and a 2nd player to block the run of players who are good in the air e.g. benteke. I hate ZONAL Marking. This is what Sky said about CP 2nd goal today.

The "exclusive" story in the Sun has come from Dan King (which no other paper/reporter is running with). If you look at his twitter account he is in Stuttgart covering Sharapova return to tennis for the time this "exclusive" came out. The story seems to have a lot of "detail" from the "PL side" which seems strange for a reporter to obtain in Germany ?

Or he could be aiming for the 3 fixtures that Netherlands have at the end of the season :-

[TH=class: statistics, align: left][/TH] [TH=class: match-competition, align: left]Competition[/TH] [TH=class: match-details, align: left]Fixture[/TH] [TH=class: match-date, align: left]Date[/TH] [TH=class: kickoff, align: left]Kick-off[/TH] [TH=class: status, align: left]Status[/TH]

International Friendlies Morocco v Netherlands Wed 31 May 00:00

[TH=class: statistics, align: left][/TH] [TH=class: match-competition, align: left]Competition[/TH] [TH=class: match-details, align: left]Fixture[/TH] [TH=class: match-date, align: left]Date[/TH] [TH=class: kickoff, align: left]Kick-off[/TH] [TH=class: status, align: left]Status[/TH]

International Friendlies Netherlands v Ivory Coast Sun 4 Jun 18:30

World Cup Qualifying - European - Group A Netherlands v Luxembourg Fri 9 Jun 19:45

The only good thing about our "non-performance" yesterday is we have probably put an end to the Lying Dutchman overtaking City and getting CL football next season. (now 7 pts behind with only 5 to go whereas if they were only 4 behind and City still to play Utd would have given them a chance). Without CL football the Lying Dutchman is likely to lose his best players in the summer.

I look back at some of their previous "Exclusives" about Saints players In July 2012 they implied Luke (after half a season in the 1st team) was going to Chelsea for £4 million. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2167860/Chelsea-set-bid-4m-Southamptons-Luke-Shaw.html Seven months later (Feb 2013) they said that "Chelsea set to land £10m Southampton teen sensation Shaw" ".....with Chelsea increasingly confident of landing the highly rated 17-year-old." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2284192/Chelsea-set-land-10m-Southampton-teenager-Luke-Shaw-replace-Ashley-Cole.html Neither of these 2 Daily Mail articles proved anywhere near being correct.

I hope you don't mind but i nicked one of your photos and added it to the TV pictures

The linesman who wrongly disallowed Saints first goal was Stuart Burt. His last Saints game I believe was the 3-0 win over Leicester where Vvd was stamped on (imo deliberately) by that "dog turd" of a Leicester player. ? Does anyone know if he was the linesman at that end where the stamping took place ? If he was, he was he would have had a better view of the "stamp" than the Referee. (The ball was at least 3 feet away and the linesman that that end of the ground would have seen that but didn't raise his flag

It is written by Sami Mokbel, IMO he has a very poor record for getting stories about Saints correct. He is usually WRONG about Timescale; WRONG about the Club; and WRONG about the money. Here are some of his classics :- 1/ 6th Nov 2012 he told us that Nigel "was in crunch talks" over his job, with comments like :- "could be gone as early as TODAY" and "inevitable that the ex-S****horpe boss will be axed sooner rather than later" Nigel was still in charge for 2 months later. He also said that "Swindon manager Paulo Di Canio, ..., could be in line for a move up to the Premier League, if Adkins goes and inevitably former Saints and Cheats manager xxxxxx (cannot mention his name) will be linked with any vacancy." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2228682/Nigel-Adkins-Southampton-talks-future.html 2/ 1st Jan 2013 He told us that Luke was going to Arsenal for £5 Million (It was 18 months later to Utd for £27-32M) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2255426/Arsenal-talk-Southampton-Luke-Shaw-transfer.html 3/ 9th Jan 2013 He told us that Gross or Di Matteo were going to take over, within days Poch took over (? Did he see Les at an Airport and put 2& 2 together and get 5 ?) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2259795/Southampton-consider-Christian-Gross-Roberto-Di-Matteo.html 4/ 20th Jan 2013 He told us that Pochettino lack of English on the Training ground was a problem getting the message across He also said "Pochettino could be faced with a torrent of ill-will from the St Mary's crowd during his first game in charge against Everton on Monday." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2265624/Southamptons-new-boss-Mauricio-Pochettino-needs-interpreter-speak-English.html 5/ 25th Feb 2013 He told us that Chelsea were "set to land Luke for £10m" (It was 15months later to Utd for 27-32m) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2284192/Chelsea-set-land-10m-Southampton-teenager-Luke-Shaw-replace-Ashley-Cole.html

Spuds have 3 players going into the game on 4 bookings :- Vic ; Walker and Vertonghen. We need a high tempo game running at those 3 players at speed, we all know that Vic would go missing in games when he was close to a ban.

Arsenal 0-2 Saints - Reaction & Semi Final Draw
Saint_John replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
The home game against liverpoo will follow a busy Xmas period - (Wed 28/ Sat 31/ Mon 2/ Sat 7th FaCup). IMO Claude has shown to be very good at "Squad Rotation" this season, one of the best in the league which is what is needed at this time of the year. The away leg is due to be played on Tues/Wed of a week that Sky have chosen to move our game with Leicester to a Monday. I hope the Club get onto the PL & Sky and TELL THEM that the Leicester game must be moved back to Saturday -
For those not going BT are showing the game on their Freeview Sports Showcase channel (Channel 59 on Freeview) so no need for their Broadband to watch it.

These were the old agents http://www.playersunited.nl/players-united-management-coaches.php If you look at the Players they also look after Pelle. There have been rumours since the BEFORE the last Transfer Windows about a "cut price" deals linking him elsewhere i.e £5m etc back to Italy etc. I wonder if Les and the Agent fell out over the Agents actions over Pelle ? Certainly RonK told Adam Blackmore a couple of weeks he WASNT interested in the Everton position but somebody has been keeping that rumour alive.
-
I seem to be out of line with others. I would not let him go early I would hold on to him until 31 Aug. Spurs will want an early deal because one of their DM is out for the first 4 games and the other is with England and will probably start training a couple of weeks behind others. Why help the "Dirty Tricks Club" ? and what do you think his "first touch" will be like on the 1st Sept if he isn't involved in any pre-season games ?. Also the new TV deal comes in next year and I think the money for each place increases from something like £1.2m to £2.5m per place, therefore 4 places (6th down to 10th is £10m). Therefore there is a case for even holding on to him until the winter transfer window if as I expect there is only joke offers from spurs.
-
Everton have a busy fixture list - a game on Wed night (13th) before our game (only 2 & half days rest) and then a derby against Liverpool a few days after our game (20th). And then their most important game (S/F of the Cup) is 7 days after our game (23rd). We could be playing them at the right time.
-
One thing nobody has mentioned is that Shelvey is on 9 bookings and this weekend is the last match for the 10 bookings/2 match ban. If he gets booked he will miss 2 home games one against his former club Swansea, which I believe he really wants to play in. I hope Saints have done their homework and players like Sadio/Shane etc run at him and commit him to tackle knowing that one bad tackle and he will get a ban.
-
I use soccerbase http://www.soccerbase.com/referees/home.sd then select who you want. It always make me laugh that for Clattenburg it says "England" and for the rest it gives the County FA where they are registered/live.
-
After the shockingly poor Refs over the last few games, Robert Madley has been selected for Sat. This season :- Chelsea - win 3-1; Liverpool - league cup defeat; Last season 6-1 win over Villa and the 2-1 away win at Newcastle He has done one Newcastle game this season a 3-0 defeat at Sunderland where he sent off Coloccini

I WOULD change the system. Our performance yesterday was so good because we identified that watfords strength came from their 2 forwards. i.e. one jumps and takes the defender out of the game and the second feeds on the space behind. By playing 3 cb we stopped them playing that way. Also they score very few from corners or set plays and therefore we could be light in numbers of "big" defenders (Ron usually like to play 4 - two cb + Big Vic & Pelle but yesterday we were able to able to use Long & Classe as markers along with the 2 cb because watford offered little threat in that area). Wba play a different way and will give us different problems. They have lots of tall players and score lots of goals from set plays either because they have 4 or 5 players good in the air or players who strike the ball well from the edge of the box when the ball runs free. I would revert to a back 4 and add an extra central midfield player with some extra height in the team to combat their set plays, while still aiming to break quickly on their "slow but tall" defenders.
-
2nd against 3rd in the Form table (over 6 games). They have not conceded an away goal in those 3 away games (two 1-0 wins and a 0-0) so I expect them to have lots of players behind the ball at all times and double up on Pelle & Sadio when we go forward. IMO the crowd will have BIG part to play - no groans when a pass goes astray please - their tactics will be to frustrate and then hope to score from their one chance. If the Northam are up for it and are loud for 90 mins I can see Saints winning 1-0.

The FIFA site says he starts for Senegal today (k/o 11:30 our time) so the injury cannot be so bad http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/matches/round=276420/match=300338626/index.html#nosticky

The FA article http://www.thefa.com/news/governance/2015/oct/arsenal-and-alan-middleton-fined-over-calum-chambers-transfer and one of the published report (2nd "here") http://www.thefa.com/~/media/files/pdf/the%20fa%202015-16/football-association-v-1-arsenal-fc-2-alan-middleton-decision-and.ashx?la=en Some quotes that might interest Saints fans So we told arsenal that PE (Philip Ercolano) was his Agent and they didn't bother checking !
