I know it's not in the rules but with 42 mins played they should take halftime and play a 48 minute second half, so I can go and make a cuppa

This looks decent at this stage: https://www.sportnews.to/sports/2023/premier-league-southampton-vs-aston-villa-s2/

A good showing from the whole team, which could easily (and deservedly) earned us a point. As several earlier posts said ABK was outstanding and some very decent performances across the board. And as for the juggling incident, well…. Happy with the performance, frustrating not to get more from it.

I suppose the thinking is that putting DIallo into the defensive role gives us a bit more against the fast counters

I was just thinking that the Bosnian (?) commentary on my stream was less annoying than BT last week

A lot of cards being issued but the one that would be the most deserved would be to spurs kit man for sending them out in those shirts
-
Didn’t they get one shipped up from Spurs? If so you’d think the attacking part would be untouched

Regrettably I’d say you’re right. The penalty was the closer call for me

Nuno wearing what looks like a bullet proof vest. Incongruous stuff
-
Shaved off the lucky beard at half time. Seems to have improved things. You can all thank me later if we come back

One good reason Saints would be well served if it went to 5 subs. If they had the squad to fill the bench

Ref looking a lot like Jasper Carrott

Yep, we’re looking a very good team of late. Long may it continue

Except the guideline, as I understand it, is that VAR has to get involved in line decisions. If I’m right in that they were right to take a look. Then the question is whether the foul continued into the box, after starting outside. If so we’re back in a place where people are confusing a rule they don’t like with VAR being a problem.

Mrs F was most displeased when I, exhausted at about 4am as she was in labour, was unwise enough to ask, as she didn’t seem to want any gas and air at that point, and it being good stuff, if I could ‘have another toke on that’

My Liverpool supporting boss was saying something to the effect of ‘we’re going to lose eventually, I wouldn’t be too surprised if it’s this one’ yesterday. I’ll decide how much I think he knows after both the final whistle and my comp review

Hilarious defending. Palace knocking it across the back until their defender decides to play a slide rule pass to Ings 20 yards from goal

NBC sports showing it, but no stream as yet

I went to a school just outside Reading and at about 14 was set an English assignment to get an interview about a book I was reading. I was reading something about football apprenticeships at the time and, thinking it was a low effort way of getting through the task as they’d never reply, A friend and I wrote a letter to Ian Branfoot, then manager at Reading. To our surprise we got a reply within a couple of days, inviting us up to Elm Park to meet him, some of the apprentices and some of the development staff. We were there all afternoon, spent time not only with the development people but an hour chatting in his office and then got taken to meet several of the players. He was a lovely guy and couldn’t do enough to make sure we had a good time and got all we needed for the assignment. He rounded it off by asking us to send him a copy of the piece of work we submitted (boo) and saying he’d come down to the school with some players sometime soon - which he did. So, although his was a dreadful era of saints footy, I have to say that, as others do above, he really was a nice guy.

Nervous? My bottle of red didn’t see me through the first half hour. Good news is I have another one.

Well, he's not going to die wondering today
