  1. I'm a financial simpleton. But am I correct in thinking that the same Middle East Businessmen who own Man City also now own a significant percentage of Barclays? I wonder how many clubs, like Saints, are only surviving at Barclays whim?
  2. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Lets enjoy the moment
  3. I suspect that many Pompey fans would agree that his bigest achievement is to F**k saints up several times over.
  4. I think we can look forward to seeing Spurs in the Championship next season and Pompey the season after that. What I can't be sure of is wheather we will be in the Championship still?
  5. The clubs debts are bigger than their assets. Yet both Wilde & Lowe, we understand, want stupid money for their shares (65p a share last year?). Either Lowe & Wilde sell up at a sensible price (20p a share) or we go into administration sometime soon.
  6. Another c**p weekend being a saints supporter. Lowe & Wilde.........either invest some mony or sell up. The game you are playing at the moment will end up in disaster for everybody.
  7. I suspect that any significant sale of shares would send the price plummeting, unless there is a takeover in the air.
  8. I notice today that Saints shares have bucked the world trend and have gone up today, due to a massive £490.52 trade at a whopping 26.5p per share (up from 24p a share). I'm therefore suprised that some regular posters (we know who they are ), have not realised this fact and have taken the opportunity to tell us how lucky we are to have the Golden Lord back at our club. It would be a tough decision, but when Mr Bush, Mr Brown or Frau Merkel comes begging for his services, I would applaud the decision to sell up and leave Saints for the greater task ahead.
  9. I think that nothing will happen on a takeover, until one of the big share holders breaks rank and sells their shares. I think that a significant number of shares on the market will send the price into free fall unless they are sold by pre arrangement to a buyer.
  10. Lets see how things go for a few more games. But the comparison with Coventry & Leicester at the end of the season will be interesting.
  11. Rupert had a football club Nothing would it bear He kept on changing managers Like he didn’t care Wilde came in and sacked him Tried it on his own Hired lots of parasites The ran of crying home Crouchey tried to run things While the Scotsman Drunk SISA came and offered To buy up all the junk Wilde & Rupert made up Sent poor Crouchey home Sacked Nigel Pearson And made the fans all moan We then got total football And a team of boys Now that were losing We’re throwing out the toys
  12. My grandad, who was a Vicar, walked through the ruined streets of Southampton during the blitz because he felt the clergy should be seen. I'm not a vicar, nor sadly do I live close enough to be seen at St Mary's too often. But I will carry on being a fan as long as we have a team because Southampton is part of my family "roots" ((cue the theme tune to roots which my wife sings everytime I try to explain to my kids why I support such a "rubbish" team))
  13. Kelvin Davis is my hero!
  14. I think I'll settle for 2-2
  15. Am I correct that if a board member or major shareholder buys any shares it has to be announced to the stock market?
  16. Saw the under 21's with my lad............they showed good spirit also. Cranie did'nt have a good game, but the rest were fine. Would love to have Michael Mancienne on loan from Chelsea for the season
  17. Happens all the time around the coast where the was war time activity. We've got nothing like the risk that Gillingham has.............they have a whole ship load old ammunition just ticking away close to their ground.
  18. I think we can assume that financially there is some limited room to manoeuvre otherwise AL would have been sold
  19. I think as long as Rupert is in charge Jan will be our manager. However the king maker is Mike Wilde, who of course never changes his mind does he :-)
  20. If it takes as long to transfer Skacel out of the club as it took to transfer him in then we are in for a long wait. but if he dos'nt leave us in this window, it would seem madness not to play him if fit.
  21. The test will be if the manager and team learn from the bad bames like Blackpool. If they do the mid table with some really exciting football If they don't then down we go.
  22. God that clip bought back memories.......I must show it to my 9 yr old tomorrow!
  23. I expect at every game there are scouts from Prem Clubs & CC Clubs with more money than us. No good worrying
  24. Man City at SMS.......nice big crowd & a fair chance of a win
  25. If they try & come and pack out the middfield lets hope for an early goal.......I think our young side will then murder them. However, if they keep it goaless til mid 2nd half watch out for the sucker punch.
